My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar

Yun Jhin invited the youth in, the inside of the shop was quite clean and neat compared to the worn-out outside, this was the handy work of Luo Shang who was still cleaning around using his ki.

The youth eyes widened as he saw Luo Shang's application of ki to cleaning, and knew that the duo was way stronger than him.

Yun Jhin motioned for the youth to stay on an empty seat as he asked:

"What information do you have?"

The youth knew that the man in front of him wasn't that kind as he was looking on the surface, surviving on the outer edges of the capital toughened him and made him able to scan the feelings of those around him.

Yun Jhin could naturally make him unable to know what he felt but decided to let his feelings in the open to intimidate him.

The youth opened his dry lips and said:

"You see I heard about this while I was out umm 'patrolling' the middle regions of the city."

"There is a chance the Bumi Empire might go to war soon!"

Yun Jhin's eyes narrowed inside, this was quite blunt and fast, were there traitors in the Luo Empire?

Well, it wasn't very surprising, even if 99% of them were loyal to the Emperor, now that he was dead the traitors could instigate the others to overthrow the Empress.

But how did they realize the Emperor was dead? That was a question that he couldn't answer as he didn't know much about the inner workings of the capital, but he guessed that a Eunuch or someone from the inside of the palace sold them out, however, there was a chance the Bumi Empire was just testing out the waters.

Yun Jhin tried to probe the youth more:

"War? There hasn't been a war for tens of thousands of years from what I know, how come there will be war now?"

The youth eyes started sparkling as he thought he may fill his belly with this type of information and continued to spout what he heard:

"Well mister, I heard it from a guy who wore a military uniform so there is a high chance the information is true!"

Yun Jhin frowned, then he grasped the youth in front of him with his left arm lifting him into the air, his eyes peered into the youth's and they turned slack as his memories were forcefully taken out of his mind.

Yun Jhin frowned as the youth's body dropped to the ground then transformed into ashes, Luo Shang frowned as he blew the ashes away and said:

"You could have done this in the back where I haven't had time to clean yet, now I have to clean here again."

Yun Jhin ignored his words and said:

"There is a high chance the Bumi Empire is testing the waters against the Luo Empire, they might know about the history behind your tomb."

Luo Shang frowned as he said:

"The only one who knows about the tomb would be that old fool, Bumi Ming, himself, there is a chance he left some information to his descendants..."

Luo Shang had an angered expression on his face when he mentioned Bumi Ming, it seemed he wasn't that happy about the past with his brother.

Yun Jhin knew that this information was vital and directly sent it back to the Empress via a communication stone.

The Empress stood on the throne of the Emperor as she lazed around with closed eyes, she looked like a kitten who was relaxing after it ate to its satisfaction.

The Empress opened her eyes and looked in front of her as she watched a Eunuch appear in front of her, he was short with a small beard on his face, he was almost bald with only random spots of hair on his head and he had liver spots on his face. He wore the normal Eunuch robes and he bowed deeply to the Empress as he said:

"News from the spies sent to the Bumi Empire."

The Empress waved her hand as the stone which appeared in the Eunuch's hands directly appeared in her hand and the words came out of the stone:

"Extremely high chance of the Bumi Empire testing the waters of our Empire very soon, they might try to instigate a war where the Emperor will have to come out, there is a chance they know of the properties of the tomb."

The message wasn't that long, it had the needed information, the Empress frowned as she tightened her grip on the communication stone but she didn't break it as she spoke into it for a short while before she threw it at the Eunuch who disappeared quickly from the room.

The Empress looked at the painting of the former Emperor which was hanged on the wall behind her and sighed:

"Husband, you have left this little wife with a lot of problems after your passing."

She snapped her fingers and the painting turned into dust and disappeared leaving an empty spot on the wall.

She walked through the wall as if nothing was there and disappeared leaving the throne room empty.

Yun Jhin ears perked up as he looked at the communication stone in his hands which started to glow a deep red, meaning there was a message being sent back:

"Sabotage the troops below the Emperor realm and come back to the Luo Empire, your punishment could be said to be done, after all, you have done such a great service to our Empire while pushing yourselves and putting your lives on the line behind enemy lines."

The message ended. Yun Jhin faces turned scary as he heard the first part of the message while Luo Shang who was behind him also looked pretty grim, sabotaging a camp full of King Realm experts would be very easy but if they did this in the capital they would be easily spotted and killed by the countless experts, Yun Jhin could even feel that there were peak sage realm experts in the outer ranges of the capital and this wasn't good!

They must be from the 10th ranked house in the capital, the house which Zula was from, it seemed they didn't get annihilated, it must have been because of the temporary help of the Sumo Emperor but their wealth should have been surely plundered.

Remembering the incident with Zula gave Yun Jhin some ideas, they could join the King Realm fighting force as impostors and then kill them from the inside when they were moving towards the location where they wanted to start the war.

Yun Jhin transmitted the plan to Luo Shang and Luo Shang just went along with it, there wasn't much he could do as Yun Jhin was keeping him on empty without any herbs or pills that could increase his cultivation, his strength was currently around the 4th stage of the King Realm because he couldn't break through to the 2nd stage of the King Realm due to the lack of resources.

Yun Jhin made some headway in the 4th stage nearing the 8th stage of refinement with hard work and the last remaining ingredients in his spatial ring, right now he only had spirit stones remaining in his spatial equipment which weren't that useful to cultivation, they also weren't many enough for him to buy other resources.

Yun Jhin disappeared along with Luo Shang as the building behind them restored itself to the looks it had before they arrived.

Yun Jhin and Luo Shang then went to the middle of the capital and looked around trying to find two targets that were part of the King Realm war camp so they could kill them and take over their identities.

It didn't take much time to find two fellows who were just coming out of a restaurant, they were both quite drunk after they indulged themselves in a lot of spiritual wine.

The duo walked slowly as they took a corner and entered an alleyway, both Yun Jhin and Luo Shang were already waiting in the alleyway under Yun Jhin's stealth technique.

The duo started to talk:

"Man, I really can't believe we were conscripted, I was ready to have some fun with my fiancee when the recruiter entered my house and stepped on my balls!"

The other man looked at the other one as if he was an idiot and didn't try to talk with him, suddenly they both grasped their necks as they saw both Yun Jhin and Luo Shang appearing in front of them, and this was the last sight they saw.

Yun Jhin and Luo Shang absorbed their ki signatures and mimicked their life force then their bodies morphed into theirs slowly.

Yun Jhin was now a bald young man with thick eyebrows who wore the normal militaristic uniform of the Bumi Empire, which consisted of a brown leather armor that shined a little bit under the sun.

Luo Shang was now a long-haired middle-aged man who had his hair done in a ponytail, he had streaks of white hair around his temples and he had a sage-like air around him, he wore the same outfit as Yun Jhin, both of them absorbed their memories and knew that their names were respectively, Shung Saishen and Ling Mammon.

Yun Jhin cracked his neck when he heard Luo Shang complaining behind him:

"Why did you give me the role of the guy who got his balls stepped on? I don't like it!"

Yun Jhin ignored him like usual and decided to follow Shung Saishen memories to walk directly to the camp of the King Realm experts and meld with the others, Luo Shang naturally followed behind him while sometimes complaining or cursing, just like Ling Mammon would.

Both of them were very good actors.

It didn't take much time to get to the war camp and there they met with the recruiter which was a female Emperor Realm expert, the recruiter gave out a warm smile at both of them as he patted their back forcefully which made them almost face plant on the ground.

The recruiter then said:

"You two lazy bugs are quite late, it won't be much time before we leave the capital and you still didn't even meet your companions, you need to forge a good bond with them before heading out to war so you could use the formation the army gives you more proficiently!"

Both Luo Shang and Yun Jhin got up from the grounds and saluted, the recruiter then pointed to the many barracks around as he shouted:

"Everyone, let's practice the formation again as there are two newbies who took too much time to come!"

There were a lot of groans coming from the barracks but they didn't complain as a lot of people came out of them, there were around 50,000 to 75,000 at first glance.

Yun Jhin sweated as he watched everyone glare at him and Luo Shang but he gave out a weak smile as he waved his hand:

"Let's all do our best for the future of the Bumi Empire."

Then he pumped his fist in the air enthusiastically, even though he looked like a hooligan those who knew him, knew that this was his usual personality, vibrant and ready to give his all for the Bumi Empire.

The others got influenced by his personality so they started to pump their fists in the air and shouted:

"For the Bumi Empire!!!"

Yun Jhin smiled inwardly, he was already making his infiltration successful, Luo Shang gave out a small bow to the recruiter and said in a whisper:

"Might you be able to step on my balls again later?"

The recruiter blushed brightly for a few seconds before she punched Luo Shang into the ground again and left in a hurry.

Luo Shang got himself out of the hole on the ground while bleeding from the head and his eyes, he cursed inwardly as he had to play the role of a pervert, he couldn't help it, he had to follow the memories that he devoured as some people knew him in the crowd of practitioners.

Yun Jhin and Luo Shang then went ahead to practice the formation with the others, Yun Jhin and Luo Shang both had great smiles on their faces, the crowd thought their smiles came from different reasons, one Yun Jhin being able to serve his Empire and two Luo Shang getting beaten by the cute recruiter.

However, both of them smiled because they found openings in the formation that they could exploit to kill all of them during the time they would be traveling.

The recruiter came back and now she looked fairly normal as she said while jabbing a finger in her chest proudly:

"There are some new from the higher-ups, it was intended for all of you to go by yourselves to the war zone but I will have to follow you, for now, I'm don't have the details but you guys will enjoy the protection of a 2nd stage Emperor Realm expert!"

Yun Jhin and Luo Shang frowned inwardly, this would complicate things quite a bit...
