My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar

Yun Jhin eyes were closed as he refined the pills he made, refining a jewel was easier than crafting it and inserting it into one's crown slot, Yun Jhin was effortlessly extracting the energy from the pills and used it to refine his jewel.

Just like he guessed, he reached around the 7th stage of the refinery after he finished refining all 3 pills he had.

However, he didn't leave his room as by his calculations he still had quite some time before the gathering of the factions of the younger generation would start, so he wanted to cultivate some more as there wasn't anything more that he could do at this point.

Cultivation had its ups and downs but at its core was quite simple and meant for those that had the talent for it, one would gather ki into one's body, and then it was up to the person if one could start cultivating using the ki or not.

The King realm consisted of creating a king's crown and filling it with jewels of different elements and aspects of the universe, Yun Jhin had already mixed quite a lot of aspects in few jewels giving him a lot of other slots that could be filled with stronger jewels that contained laws that one couldn't touch at the King realm.

From the 4th stage and above he would start comprehending again the laws of life, death, time, and space, afterward at the 8th stage he would have to gather life essence from a strong being of high bloodline and use it to create his jewel, most experts would use their bloodline to create the jewel and Yun Jhin would do the same in the future, as for the last jewel, it would be automatically created after he mixed all of his current jewels abilities into one to create an ultimate skill.

The universe was fair as it was cruel, it gave other races higher life spans than humans but it took away their ability to normally reproduce, while humans lived the least even when they reached the peak of the god realm, they could extend their lives more than others and they had an easier time reproducing, they also didn't have bloodlines and their battle power relied on their constitutions, in this situation cultivation beasts could be considered stronger than humans as well.

Yun Jhin opened his eyes as he felt that it was around one week since he started cultivating so the gathering of the youth's faction should start soon enough. He wasn't interested in meeting the other youths from the other families but at these types of gatherings, resources could be traded quite easily along with bets and other types of activities that could make Yun Jhin able to easily gather what he needed to further his cultivation base.

Yun Jhin went ahead and left his room but he quickly met with Zhu Cheng who was coming to his room, Zhu Cheng had a smile on his face as he patted Yun Jhin's shoulder and said:

"Brother Jhin, I was ready to come and invite you out but it seems you are more eager to get to the gathering than I am, let's go together, the others are waiting for me to lead them to our usual gathering spot."

Yun Jhin walked with Zhu Cheng shoulder to shoulder as they met with the other members of Zhu Cheng's faction, most of them were around the 7th to 8th stage and there were very few around the 6th stage, there were none at the 9th stage, in total there were around 6 7th stage persons, 3 8th stage ones and around 25 6th stage.

In total the Demonic Killers faction had around 36 people with Yun Jhin and Zhu Cheng included, the faction didn't have many people in it but the quality of the members was leagues ahead of the other factions.

Zhu Cheng didn't have to introduce Yun Jhin as all of the people here participated in the tournament and some of them even lost at Yun Jhin's hands, Zhu Cheng cleared his throat as he made an announcement:

"Since brother Yun Jhin's battle power is at the 9th stage he will be the general under me for the time being, I don't think there would be any disapprovals of this will there?"

Everyone kept mum, they were already beaten black and blue by Yun Jhin, and from what they could see, his aura was a little bit stronger than before, they wouldn't court problems for no reason as Yun Jhin's general position was deserved.

Zhu Cheng looked around to see if anyone disagreed then nodded his head when he saw that everyone kept quiet, he waved his hand and told them:

"Let's get to the usual place, the Sikong family said that they have a great surprise for us."

While they walked towards the city and their usual hanging spot, Zhu Cheng sent some information to Yun Jhin:

"Since you are new and didn't have much time to make connections in the city, I will tell you the rankings of the families of the city in the order of highest to lowest.

1st: Sikong family.

2nd: Bugo Family.

3rd: Shin Family.

4th: Our Zhu Family.

5th: Shen Family.

6th: Xero Family.

7th: Bing Family.

8th: Wutang Family.

9th: Xing Family.

10th: Rath Family."

"This should help you understand where our family stands in the inner circle of nobility, we are quite high ranked with only other 3 families above us, their younger generation isn't that strong as they each have an Emperor Realm cultivator around my age, two of them are at the 1st stage and one of them at 2nd just like me."

"I'm just telling you this so you will know who you can offend and who you cannot, I will be backing you as long as you don't pick a fight with the faction of the Sikong family, even though we are friends on the surface they are just like a poisonous viper who would like to bite all of us."

"Anyways you can go wild on all of the other families as I will protect you from the Emperor realm experts, we need to show them that the Zhu family isn't lacking in younger generation combatants, if we do well and break their morale we will have a higher chance to get more slots in the tournament hosted by the imperial family."

Yun Jhin kept silent as he took in all of the information from Zhu Cheng, he finally nodded after Zhu Cheng stopped talking and continued to walk along with him.

After a while they finally reached the meeting place, it was a beautiful restaurant at the edges of the city that was decorated festively, it even had a gambling place for the hedonistic silk pants young masters along with beauties who wouldn't mind if they were taken advantage off.

The restaurant was booked by the Sikong family and all the top ten families were invited to the gathering, Zhu Cheng didn't need to flash any identity token or invitation as the guards at the entrance let him Yun Jhin and the others inside very easily, Zhu Cheng was very popular in the capital.

Yun Jhin looked around and saw quite a few young masters 'playing' with the maids of the restaurant, he shook his head, Zhu Cheng saw him shaking his head and chuckled then said:

"These trashes are here only to make up numbers, the true geniuses of the capital are further in, follow me I want to introduce you to the others, we can also have a few betting and friendly spars while we are at it, some of the people around here have the herbs you need to create your pills."

"I will point you to the ones that I know and you beat them, our faction gets popularity and prestige while you get resources, isn't it a very good trade with no loses?"

Zhu Cheng had a merchant smile on his face as he walked deeper into the restaurant.

There he waved at the Emperor Realm experts and the other leaders of their factions, however, he was visibly colder to the leaders that were under the Emperor Realm, so that meant around 70% of the people in the room.

The Emperor Realm experts at the 1st stage were quite average looking but they had a deep aura to them and a smile on their face that showed that they were quite charismatic, the other Emperor Realm expert at the 2nd stage was a beauty of considerable standards, she had long straight legs and a curvy figure, her pink lips were very enchanting as she pursed them when Zhu Cheng entered the room.

The other leaders also had all of their unique qualities to them, they weren't the leader of their clan youth factions for nothing, however, none of them were extremely good looking, it seemed Zhu Cheng was the only one that could be considered good looking in this room, Yun Jhin wasn't good looking but he was manly looking in his humanoid form.

Zhu Cheng smiled as he introduced Yun Jhin to everyone:

"This is a new brother of our Zhu Family, he is called Yun Jhin and he was recruited from the Sumo Empire, you might not believe it but his battle power is so high that he can even beat people around the 9th stage of the King realm."

The female from the Sikong Clan smiled lightly as she eyed Yun Jhin and she said:

"Zhu Cheng, you aren't bluffing to buff your morale are you?"

Zhu Cheng gave out a small smile as he looked at the Sikong woman and said:

"Sikong Cui, you will see if his strength is genuine or not, weren't you making fun of me because I didn't have any subordinate at the 9th stage? Why don't you let out your general to battle mine, and to make things a little bit interesting I will bet 5000 high-grade spirit stones on Yun Jhin, your Sikong family is rich in herbs and resources, why don't you bet some heavy starlight herb and some stones worth 5000 high-grade spirit stones."

Sikong Cui knew that Zhu Cheng wanted to extort some high-quality herbs from her, but that didn't mean she wasn't curious about Yun Jhin's battle power, some herbs weren't worth much to her as she could have as many as she wanted, being the prized daughter of the matriarch of the house.

Sikong Cui gave out a smile as she threw the herbs on the table that she was on and Zhu Cheng threw a spatial ring filled with 5000 spirit stones on the same table.

Sikong Cui looked behind her as another female walked forward and bowed to her, she had starlight in her eyes as she looked at Sikong Cui with admiration and said:

"I will teach this brat from the county how the people in the Luo capital fight my lady."

Sikong Cui gave out a small smile as she patted the young woman's head and told her:

"Sun Sun, it doesn't matter if you win or lose, just make him sweat a bit for me, I want to see what's so special to him that Zhu Cheng would call him 'his general', do your best understood?"

"Yes my lady, I shall give out 110% of my power!"

Yun Jhin let them talk, there was an arena in the restaurant that was created for them after they made this place was their usual gathering spot, the owner of the restaurant was even happy that they wanted to fight within it if they broke anything their families would pay for it! Since their families were rich they would pay more than the thing they broke was worth.

Yun Jhin stretched as his bones cracked, he moved his head a bit and watched as the woman called Sikong Sun Sun walked up to the arena and glared at him with her starlight filled gaze.

Yun Jhin chuckled inside, others might not know but the starlight from her eyes meant that she would soon suffer from cultivation deviation, starlight was leaking from one of her gems because of her hasty refining, Yun Jhin didn't know nor care why would someone rush in refining their jewel but this allowed him to easily deal with her.

Yun Jhin soul gave out a ripple as he sent a message to Zhu Cheng that told him of Sun Sun's situation, Zhu Cheng was smiling deviously on the inside as he heard what Yun Jhin told him and he responded to him using the same strand of the soul:

"Cripple her, make it look like an accident and I will give my all to get you enough herbs and hearts until you reach the 6th stage of the King Realm, crippling her will give us a big advantage in the coming tournament and it will show that bitch Sikong Cui who has the better subordinate now."

Yun Jhin sent an affirmative response to Zhu Cheng, doing dirty work for hearty rewards was one of his favourite part-time activities when he was a small-time thug like now.

Sikong Sun Sun looked at Yun Jhin and entered a stance as she prepared for the fight, Yun Jhin entered his fighting stance as well as he made up a plan to make Sun Sun's crippling look like an accident, atleast on the surface he needed to act, who cared if they knew he did it on purpose?

Accidents were prone to happen in such sparring matches.

Yun Jhin launched himself directly at her while showing her an opening to make her let her guard down.

Sun Sun chuckled inside as she watched him rush at her with an opening, she thought that Yun Jhin was truly a country bumpkin that didn't have much fighting experience even though his battle power was high.

This would be the last and most deadly mistake she would do as a cultivator.
