Chapter 80: Wedding crashers
Both of Yun Jhin's in-laws were angry seeing the Empress barge in uninvited in their daughter's wedding, but a voice transmission from the Emperor made both of them sweat internally.
The Emperor told them that she was his wife and also a god realm expert of the Empire, thus they knew that they couldn't say anything if she wanted to observe their daughter's wedding.
But they couldn't keep their eyes of Sophia's pregnant form, they wondered why would the Empress barge in with a pregnant woman?
Then the woman's eyes widened as she looked at Sophia then at Yun Jhin, Yun Jhin's mother in law was quite sharp and she realized the Empress came with someone Yun Jhin had a child with to show that their daughter wouldn't be the main wife!
After all, the main wife could change faster than anyone anticipated in such type of relationships, both parents didn't want their only daughter to be a concubine but since it seemed that she wasn't married off to Yun Jhin yet as she didn't have a ring, there was still time for their daughter to become the main wife, she just needed to give birth to a boy!
The Emperor smiled at his wife's antics then started the ceremony.
The ceremony didn't last long after it was finished they worshipped the heaven and earth then they exchanged their vows and rings, Black Blood came quickly and gave Yun Jhin the case with the rings, he put a jade ring on her finger while she put a white opal ring on his.
Finally, Yun Jhin kissed the wife and the ceremony was over, The Emperor gave out a hearty laugh as he said:
"Isn't it time for the esteemed guest to stop hiding?"
Out of nowhere a green-haired woman who wore simple clothes appeared, she had three swords tied at her hip and two scars ran over both of her black colored eyes, her green hair was cut short and messy and she gave out a wanderer aura.
Yun Jhin eyes narrowed as he saw her, she was the same girl from the dead general's memories!
It seemed she was from the Bumi Empire and she grew up to become a half-god expert, he could tell from her aura even though it was hidden, she could hide it from others but someone with his experience could tell it, the Emperor and Empress could tell as well.
The woman made a small bow as she smiled at Zula and Yun Jhin while saying:
"I should be the first one to congratulate this young couple, I'm going to go in closed-door cultivation for an imminent breakthrough very soon and I would like to be the first one to give the wedding gift."
The woman took something out of her spatial ring, it was an exquisitely carved box with dragons imprints on it, she opened it a little and a wonderful aroma escaped it, if Yun Jhin could guess from the smell alone it was a hearty starlight pill, very useful for those in the King Realm it could speed up the jewelry refinement by 50% to 80%.
The woman gave out a small smile as she said:
"Since both of you are in the King Realm I decided that this would be a rather good wedding gift for the two of you."
The Emperor coughed and took a small pearl out of his robes then gave it to the biological parents of Zula, this was a token of his appreciation and it would be quite awkward if he didn't give anything as he was supposed to be Yun Jhin's guardian in this situation.
The parents didn't know what to say and only grasped the pearl, in this type of situation only the bride's family would gift things, they didn't even get to the dowry yet!
The green-haired swordswoman then took out another thing from her spatial ring, it was a strange half-black and half-white rock, she chucked it to Yun Jhin and said via voice transmission:
"Boy this is your dowry, I won't say much about it besides that its a Ying-Yang stone, you should know what it is, after all, you are a reincarnated God Realm expert aren't you?"
It seemed Yun Jhin's secret wasn't a secret anymore, after all, to create this alliance some secrets needed to spill out, but Yun Jhin was sure they made her unable to tell this to anyone else, and even if she did, she wouldn't get benefits, she might even be killed because she made such an alliance, technically speaking she was now allying with 3 God Realm experts! Even though one still needed to mature.
The Empress started clapping as she walked forward and scrutinized the green-haired woman up and down, the woman gave out a weak smile as she said:
"I'm honored to meet the Empress of the Sumo Empire, my name is Surr Zara, I hope our alliance will be long and prospering."
The Empress smiled as she patted Zara's shoulder, however, this made Zara pale heavily, she didn't know why the Empress would act like this on their first meeting. The pregnant Sophia just looked around and didn't say anything, she knew she was only a puzzle piece for her mother so she just stood there nicely with her chest out and her big belly in front. She did her job splendidly.
Zara's eyes narrowed as she watched Sophia puff out her chest but then she continued smiling as she retreated towards the Emperor's side.
The Emperor gave out a small cough indicating that this was enough, this was something the Emperor talked with the Empress before, even though they were allies Zara should know where she stood in this alliance, they were the stronger party and she had to play to their tune, in return they would give her and her house the protection she needed.
Zara bowed to the Emperor then told Zula via voice transmission:
"Kid you are our only hope if I die in my closed-door cultivation, just please this Yun Jhin as best as you can and both of your parents and other relatives will be okay, do you understand?"
Zula gave her affirmation using the same voice transmission channel then Zara gave out a big smile as she teleported away with her parents in tow.
Zula was now alone between strangers, she didn't know what to say, the only one that she knew here was Yun Jhin and she hated him to the bone.
The Emperor gave out a wry smile as he saw Zula glare at Yun Jhin then said:
"Well since the wedding is done you two love birds can go have your privacy, darling you should go as well, don't let Sophia's baby get influenced by the unfortunate air around my palace."
The Empress humphed then left along with Sophia, Yun Jhin left with Azula towards his new room which Black Blood outfitted for his and his new wife's needs.
Yun Jhin entered the room and Zula was ready to attack him with fire but Yun Jhin easily slapped her aside and sealed her power, her eyes widened as she looked at him and said:
"You have grown so strong already? HOW!?"
Yun Jhin shook his head as he changed his clothes, he didn't like the stuffy groom suit, he changed back into the clothes he used for his training expedition, they were renewed and fixed with the help of formations so they looked bright new, Yun Jhin also reinforced their defenses with the help of his four elemental jewel.
Zula glared as her bindings were undone, Yun Jhin looked at her in the eyes and said:
"Just be a nice wife and act properly, you don't have to like me or anything, you don't even have to stay in the same room as me, after all, this was just a political marriage, do what you want as long as you don't affect the bigger picture of the Empire and your family, you should understand that right?"
Zula gritted her teeth then looked down, tears started to fall down her cheeks as she hiccuped and said:
"I already liked someone... but I was forced to marry you..."
Yun Jhin gave her a side glance and said:
"That's rough buddy."
Zula frowned but didn't say anything as she cleared her eyes after she finished crying, she was a strong woman and this was one of the rare times that she would show her sensitive side to someone, she just felt so weak and unwanted... but it seemed she wouldn't get anything from showing this side of hers to Yun Jhin, after all, he was a cold and calculative man and what he said was the truth, there was no feeling between them and it was only a political marriage.
Zula looked at Yun Jhin but didn't leave the room as she jumped on the bed and then changed her clothes in front of him, Yun Jhin didn't mind as he already saw her whole body and took her vital yin so it didn't matter to him, Zula knew that already so she didn't hide needlessly, they were 'husband and wife' now anyways.
Yun Jhin took out a hearty starlight pill from the box that Zara gave as a wedding gift, he observed it for a short while before he concluded that they weren't tampered with, with this whole box he would be able to fully refine his second jewel and with the ying-yang stone he would be able to create a ying-yang jewel which would lead to an easier time when learning the death and life laws at the Sage and God Realm.
Yun Jhin turned one starlight pill into a liquid form which he swallowed, the liquid ran around his body for a short while before it entered into his soul and moved directly to the second jewel to refine it further.
Zula didn't disturb Yun Jhin cultivation as she started to cultivate herself, she had her box of starlight pills that Zara gave to her before the wedding.
One pill two pills, six pills... Yun Jhin's refinery stage jumped up the more pills he used the higher his stage went, after he used half the box he finally reached the peak of the 9th stage of his second jewel refinery and along with it the peak of the 2nd stage of the King Realm.
Yun Jhin opened his eyes and looked around, Zula was still cultivating so he didn't bother her as he took out the Ying-Yang stone, there was one way to assimilate the stone and it was very simple.
Yun Jhin put his hand into his chest as he ripped it open, blood fell but his organs were tightly knit into his body due to their refinement, after a short while the blood also stopped and his chest was starting to slowly heal, but Yun Jhin took the Ying-Yang stone and gritted his teeth as he pushed the stone into his heart!
He wanted to scream but he didn't, he endured higher pain than this before, however, this one still hurt like a bitch!
His heart started beating at extreme speeds as it was swallowing the stone, his chest was also recovering at extreme speeds as it closed.
Yun Jhin's body was full of cold sweat as the stone was fully swallowed by his heart, then his heart turned black and white as it was inscribed with some scriptures that were hidden in the stone.
Yun Jhin closed his eyes as the pain receded, then he used the scriptures along with his new blood that pumped through his body to create his next jewel!
His blood was now full of Ying-Yang properties meaning it was both hot and cold at the same time, both dead and alive, it was a strange state of being that not many could achieve normally, but it could be achieved artificially if one gained a Ying-Yang stone, the benefits weren't many for this state, your ki will be a little purer and you would have better future prospects, but the biggest benefit would be creating a jewel that could contain both Ying and Yang inside of it, giving your crown slots for more jewels.
A half-white half-dark jewel appeared on the next slot of Yun Jhin's crown, this was the Ying-Yang jewel!
The Ying-Yang jewel gave him strength and enlightenment of life and death, but it wasn't that useful for him as he already knew those things, he was only missing the cultivation base to employ them.
After he fully finished creating his Ying-Yang jewel he took out the rest of the hearty starlight pills and used them to refine his 3rd jewel, however, the more you used the less effective they will be so he could only reach the 4th stage of refinement of his 3rd jewel and he couldn't go further unless he got more pure starlight, with time he could absorb it from the sky but it would take a lot of time, also Zula was shaking him right now so he had to see what she wanted.
Yun Jhin woke up and looked at Zula who was shaking his shoulder, she immediately flinched as she saw the black and white color that flashed through his eyes for a brief moment before she said:
"Black Blood is looking for you, he said something about visiting the Bumi Empire with the Emperor, it seems that my head of the family passed away..."
8 months passed since Yun Jhin entered into closed-door cultivation and it seemed Zara failed to break through the God Realm.
He understood why The Emperor would have to go to the Empire to fulfill his promise but why did he want him to go as well?
Well, all he could do now was look for him to see what he wanted, his child should have also been born by now, but he didn't care that much about it if possible he didn't want to meet him or her at all or else he would just become disappointed.
Yun Jhin got up from his cross-legged position on the floor and opened his door as he left towards the throne room.
Black Blood was waiting for him at the gigantic doors as he told Yun Jhin:
"Yun Jhin, the Emperor already left to the Bumi Empire but he told me to leave you this letter."
Yun Jhin took the letter and opened it only to see...
