Chapter 63: God Realm fights
Yun Jhin's eyes narrowed inside but he kept a neutral look on his face as he said:
"There are some memories that I don't feel like they are my own, they appeared randomly when I was younger but besides the cultivation technique for breaking through the king realm I didn't have any more of such revelations for a long while."
Both The Emperor and The Empress nodded simultaneously at Yun Jhin's words then they looked at each other in the eyes, The Empress was smiling like a sly fox while the Emperor had a kind look on his face but who knew what they were thinking?
Yun Jhin waited for them to continue the conversation while Kong Luo just stood there, he seemed uncomfortable as this wasn't a place for him to be in the first place.
Suddenly Black Blood's came out of the kitchen as he asked the Emperor with a subservient tone in his voice:
"Your majesty, should I come with the food now?"
The Emperor responded gently:
"Things can wait for a little more, Black Blood, don't you think we should entertain our guests first before the meal?"
Black Blood started to sweat as he retreated in the kitchen, he knew what the Emperor meant by entertainment and he felt that if he wasn't lucky he would end up as a smear of blood on the ground.
The Empress's eyes narrowed as she heard the Emperor talking about entertainment then she pursed her lips and said:
"You are quite old to entertain this youngster here, do you want to do this right here?"
The Emperor smiled as always as he said:
"You see I have gotten my hands on a strong protective formation it should be able to defend both Kong Luo and this young man here from the shockwaves from our 'entertainment' session, we should also go easy on each other, after all, we are husband and wife.."
The Empress smiled as the Emperor said that, she got up from her chair as she said:
"Don't blame me if I destroy your palace..."
The Emperor shook his head as he heard her words and didn't bother to explain to her, did she think she made such a huge breakthrough that she could destroy the Imperial palace? It was surrounded and reinforced by countless high-leveled God Formations, even a peak God Realm expert would need quite some time to turn it into rubble.
Yun Jhin watched the duo bicker as the area they were in suddenly expanded, the throne room became very wide and long, atleast 200 kilometers long, it was almost like a free area, both the Emperor and the Empress bowed to each other as they took to the air.
They both flew closely to each other as they started a 'sparring' session, it was on the pretext for Yun Jhin's enjoyment but the couple knew that Yun Jhin couldn't see much from their fight, they were only keeping each other in check and also warning each other.
However unknowingly to them, Yun Jhin could see their movements, even though they were blurred and quite hard to see, he could infer from their aura what cultivation base they had, after all, he was a peak God Realm expert in his previous life and he knew the classifications of the God Realm, they were also unleashing their aura fully without hiding it as they thought no one in the area could sense it, and even if they could, why would they care?
As the Emperor and Empress fought back and forth Yun Jhin kept a good eye on their auras, he couldn't use his soul willpower or it would be shredded by the shockwaves of the fight, both Kong Luo and Yun Jhin were situated in a pretty big bubble than engulfed them and the table as well, the bubble was a sophisticated formation that kept both of them safe from the shockwaves of their fight.
After a little bit of observation, Yun Jhin realized what their cultivation base was, one of them was at the 4th stage and the other was at the 5th stage, respectively the Emperor at the 5th and the Empress at the 4th, the Emperor was older by a bit so he could cultivate more that didn't mean the Empress was lacking in talent as she fought equally with him.
Even though they were only blurs running and flying around his surroundings, Yun Jhin could enhance his eyesight with ki to observe their fight, he couldn't see much but he could infer the situation.
Yun Jhin looked as the duo stopped, the shockwaves from the fight stopped and the cracks that appeared around the throne room healed as space transformed to what it was before, the Empress clicked her tongue as she said:
"It seems I still can't defeat you, husband, you have grown even stronger, are you close to a breakthrough?"
The Emperor avoided the question as he said:
"You are too polite wife, I can only say that you let me win this one, anyways, Black Blood please come up with the food!"
Black Blood came out of the kitchen as he looked around, he had trays of food in both of his hand as he came to the table and laid them out for everyone, the lid on the tray was lifted as a strong aroma came from the food, Yun Jhin looked at it and realized that it was the head of a halfling!
The Emperor read Yun Jhin's face as he said:
"He was the former guard at the entrance of the capital, he let some vermin in so we had to execute him, but we do not waste resources in our Empire so we could only transform him into dinner."
Black Blood bowed as they left them to eat, Yun Jhin ate normally even though Kong Luo had some problems with the food he still ate it as he didn't want to offend the Emperor, the Empress didn't have her mind on the food as she observed Yun Jhin's actions.
The Emperor coughed as he said:
"Shouldn't it be time to leave my dear? You see something could happen at your house if you left for too long and that wouldn't be a good thing would it?"
The Empress's eyes widened as she glared at the Emperor afterward, she left in a huff but before she disappeared she whispered something into Yun Jhin's ears:
"You can always come to talk with me, I know you can't join me but I would like to talk with you more."
Yun Jhin nodded his head at her to not be impolite but there was no chance he would visit her as long as the Emperor was still in power, he was a long way from reaching the God Realm and even though the Empress was a beauty of high standards, Yun Jhin was not seeing any benefits of throwing his life away to get some 'lovely time' with her.
The Emperor read the mood and realized what the Empress told Yun Jhin but he ignored it as he knew that if Yun Jhin wasn't dumb, he wouldn't follow whatever she said.
The Empress disappeared into nothing as she returned to her garden.
The Empress looked at her daughter as she said:
"Lulu, I have a mission for you, seduce Yun Jhin and make him your man, you should be able to give birth to a rather talented child with his bloodline, it doesn't matter how you do it, the Emperor might be able to say something if he comes for me, but you can do whatever you want regardless of what the emperor thinks or wants."
Lulu stopped her sword training as she bowed, there was some reluctance in her gaze but she approved of what her mother told her:
"I will do my best mother, when should I go?"
The Empress's eyes filled up with light as she said:
"He will surely be sent to temper himself in the upper continents, it doesn't matter that he lived a rather hard life in the lower continents and the middle ones, he will be sent in a danger zone, I think he will be first sent into one in the middle levels for him to accommodate then he will be summoned into one in the upper levels, you will join him with a few others, make sure you win his heart and sleep with him!"
Lulu nodded her head as the Empress waved her hand and she disappeared.
Back with the Emperor after everyone finished their meal, the man got up from the table and said:
"It's time to talk about business, I don't think you know this but as a reincarnated one the best way to draw out your former life memories is to put you into dangerous situations in special places, to be frank with you, we would love to have another God Realm expert among us as some of the other nations started to threaten us with war, even though we have 2 God Realm experts having 3 would mean we could start expanding the Empire's borders."
A strange glint appeared in his eyes as he said those words and he continued:
"You see, our Dragon Empire is one of the strongest in the Upper continents, but there are other kingdoms and nations that have God Realm experts and if we don't tread well they could ally with each other and try to attack our Empire."
The Emperor continued to talk about how things would be if the Empire would fall but Yun Jhin only listened to him on the surface, he used these kinds of speeches on his subordinates in his previous lives as well, they were meant to create a sense of belonging to the organization/nation and make them sacrifice themselves or give their best during wars, it seemed the safe times of the Empire were going to end.
The Emperor let them leave after he finished his speech and left them with these words:
"10 days from now you will go to the Demonic forest in the middle regions, we aren't sure what kind of trees are those in the Demonic forest but they release a type of energy that devils and demons love and benefit from, you will go there to temper yourself along with some other strong prospective youths of the Empire from both the military and the nobility, you can go now."
Yun Jhin followed Kong Luo out of the palace and walked towards his barracks after they arrived at his division, Kong Luo was distracted by something so he didn't talk with Yun Jhin anymore.
Yun Jhin entered his quarters as he thought to himself:
"This situation could be a good way to see where hell's entrance could be locked, the Demonic forest must be the one that has the Dark ebonite trees, if I could find that demon and eat his soul I could find where the entrance to hell was located..."
Yun Jhin would also not refuse the free meal considering of the Empire's youths, he couldn't eat all of them but during such expeditions, there was no way there could be no 'accidents' Yun Jhin also knew that the others would try to target him during the training expedition, but that was the last thing they would do in their lives.
Yun Jhin closed his eyes as he started meditating and strengthening his first jewel, to further go into the King Realm one had to first fully refine and strengthen their jewels before creating new ones, just like cultivation stages there were 9 stages in jewel refinement, they were called early middle and late stages, 1-4 were early, 5-7 middle and 8-9 late.
Yun Jhin was currently at the second stage so he was in the early level, strengthening the jewels wouldn't take much time for him, after all, he didn't need enlightenment like most other cultivators but due to his modified body from the system, he would need a little bit more energy than normal.
Even though the system helped him a lot the thing was that it couldn't create a perfect bloodline, that's why when Kong Luo scanned his bloodline he realized that his caterpillar part was very muddled as it was fused with a lot of bloodlines, this wasn't something Yun Jhin could control, maybe once he reached the late stages of the God Realm but up till then he would have to bear the increased cost of resource consumption.
There was also the fact that he would need to actively strengthen the jewels with star power which meant that eating people wouldn't cut it anymore when it came to his cultivation, he would need to eat their crown which meant eating their souls whole, this was something Yun Jhin enjoyed so he didn't feel burdened at all but absorbing anyone below the King Realm wouldn't be of help to him anymore.
He would also need to be quite selective when it came to his new 'food' after all, he would only be able to use high-quality starlight to temper his jewels.
But there was no lack of geniuses in the cultivation world, the only thing that to be geniuses would lack was techniques, however, he would be able to change that in the future, he would just need time.
While Yun Jhin was planning and cultivating, Lulu was sharpening herself as she prepared for the training, she wasn't sure why she would even go , after all, she was at the 6th stage of the King Realm at the moment, she wouldn't go if she could, there were no benefits to her but her mother forced her to go due to Yun Jhin.
She gritted her teeth as she continued to sharpen her sword, her eyes glinted with a dangerous light as she looked in the void seemingly waiting for her mother's instructions.
In all other corners of the Imperial capital, young geniuses were preparing for the special training in the danger zones, most of them didn't have much experience when it came to life and death battles as they were trained in their homes up till the King Realm.
In the Imperial Capital, only those that reached the King Realm could be considered adults and experts.
Yun Jhin sat in meditation as he cultivated and waited for the set date to come...
