Yun Jhin entered the forest with the city lords body slung across his shoulder, he hummed a happy little tune that he learned in his previous lives as he walked towards the corpse refining sect, now that he had the body of a relatively high-quality practitioner he could create his maggot!

However not any maggot would do, he needed to find the fattest one that he could in the sea of corpses, it would also need to be deep green indicating that it ate quite many cultivators' bodies.

After he got back to the sect he left the body back into the treasury, Miedo and the elders didn't let out a peep as he came with a body slung over his shoulder, it didn't matter that the body wore the outfit of a city lord, they knew better than to question their patriarch as they still remembered how the corpse king decapitated the traitors. Even Miedo was quite shaken inside at that moment.

Yun Jhin made his way to the corpse sea and started freely swimming in it as he looked for the special maggot, his soul willpower engulfed the whole mountain of corpses as he searched for the peculiar feeling that the green maggot would exude, after a long while of searching he finally found what he was looking for, the green maggot, however, it was too small it seemed to be almost dead as well but Yun Jhin knew what to do to resurrect it.

He immediately took it to the city lord's body and made it eat some flesh, then miraculously the maggot started to peep as it came back alive, it drilled into the man's skull and started to eat him from the inside slowly, it would be better to get the maggot for the pill instead of making him a corpse king, after all, if the dynasty wanted to put the crime on him he would just deny it because there was no evidence, and the duo guards from before would keep their mouth shut for sure unless they thought they could relocate their families and relatives by themselves.

Yun Jhin was currently an overlord in this backwater place, he already sent Miedo to take over the city, and a message came back that he successfully became the new city lord as the citizens wouldn't riot, with things being like this no messages could leak to the higher-ups of the dynasty, and even if some did, they wouldn't investigate or send someone that strong to such a lowly place as it would be a waste of resources, even though the war with the nearby kingdom was 'done' on paper that didn't stop the kingdom from sending assassins and other hidden attacks to disrupt the peace of the dynasty.

It was unknown what happened as the kingdom was way smaller than the dynasty but supposedly the kingdom was owned by a sect with the same strength as the empire, the sect was angered as the empire attacked their kingdom and now they were ready for revenge! That's how the emperor got injured and why most of the officials didn't look favourably on the prince's position, most of them wanted to give up on the throne and the empire and join the sect! After all, their strongest expert was defeated and almost killed!

Yun Jhin pondered what happened in the empire as he heard the maggot gorging itself on Long Sunwing body and he caressed his host's short beard that he let grow. He could profit from this, as the clam and sandpiper fought the fisherman would catch both. However he needed to finish the transformation of the yin body and cultivate it to the qi cultivating realm and above, he atleast needed to reach the peak of the body's potential which was the king realm before he could contend with the sect and the empire.

However as long as he transformed the body he would be able to go on a devouring spree, the yin body needed fresh flesh and blood to cultivate it to completion, most of the people who went on this path were fiendish killers with no way out to advance their cultivation, but what Yun Jhin wanted was the quickness that the cultivators of this path attained.

Yun Jhin kept slowly cultivating as he waited for the maggot to grow to its full length and potential, months passed by as the maggot grew to 1 meter tall and fully ate the man's body, the maggot started pewing aggressively as it threw itself at Yun Jhin ready to tear into his body as well but a finger stopped it as it fell on it's back and it started shrieking. Yun Jhin immediately poked it three times in its fat tummy making it stop moving.

The high-quality maggot looked almost dead as it stopped wriggling and Yun Jhin nodded to himself as he took out all of the ingredients from his new spatial bag, he then used the cauldron as he heated it and he started putting the ingredients in one by one, lastly, he would put in the green fat maggot and a vial of his blood and stir them together, as the fire intensified under the cauldron the combination started to coagulate and harden into a form of a half green half white pill.

Yun Jhin smiled as he took the pill from the cauldron and observed it, then he used a cultivation technique to inscribe it with a few formations lines and infused it with a bit of ki. Suddenly the pill started to glow with an ethereal half and half-light, one part deeply green while the other white.

As he observed the pill for any impurities he nodded to himself as he put it in his mouth and directly swallowed it, inside Sun Sisheng's body strange changes happened, his skin broke as he became a red man his flesh and blood ready for all to see, but after a while, new gray flesh with a certain armored pattern appeared on his body, his heart stopped pumping fresh blood as the blood transformed into a deep grey color, his canine teeth grew to fangs that protruded out of his mouth, his hair turned a deep silver color as his eyes turned red. His hands became claws as the armor pattern on his skin turned into tattoos, finally, after a few months, the bodily changes stopped as the body cultivation peaked at the 5th stage of the heavenly realm.

Even though the body achieved a cultivation breakthrough, Yun Jhin's main one was still at the 3rd stage even though he advanced in it he didn't gain anything from the body breaking through, while his cultivation would be shared with the body vice versa wasn't possible, but it did increase his cultivation speed even though it was even below the marble's increase.

Yun Jhin took a mirror out of the pile of treasures and looked at his host's new body, he nodded and opened his mouth as he looked at his tongue which now had a hole in it, this was the way the living corpse would feed, with the hole in his tongue he would extract the nutrients from his targets body till it would turn into a dry corpse and it transformed into dust.

The pill fully transformed him into a living undead, as he looked at his claws that would grow stronger along with his cultivation, he even hit his chest a few times to see how though was his new body, it sounded just like a piece iron hitting another piece of iron.

Yun Jhin threw the mirror away as he took all of the spirit stones out of the corpse refining sect treasury and initiated a meet up with all of the elders of the sects, from the fairies sect to the sword devil one, everyone was invited, he made the excuse that he broke through and he needed all of his subordinates to hold out a giant banquet.

After a few days, everyone was gathered, when they saw Yun Jhin coming out of the treasury looking like a corpse monster everyone took a few steps backward, but then the formation of the palace he inscribed a few days priorly activated and made them all trapped like turtles in a jar.

Yun Jhin chuckled as he walked down near the elders and said:

"I shall let the banquet commence right now, the first and only food that would be served would be... all of you."

Yun Jhin's tongue shot of his mouth as it impaled an elder and drained him all of his nutrients, the man couldn't even scream as he became a dry corpse then turned into dust, all the elders started panicking, as the one who berated the young elder at the sword devil sect trembled and said:

"We are done, we are done, the patriarch cultivated an evil technique that requires human sacrifices!"

Yun Jhin shook his head as he looked at the elder, the man was smart but unfortunately, this was the fastest way for the body to reach the 9th stage of the heavenly realm, afterward, he could just go hunt other sects while the empire was in disarray and get stronger and stronger!

He never intended to keep the sect's alive after he finished the transformation of his living undead corpse.

Most of the elders tried to run away and escape using the doors but they were all closed and wouldn't budge due to the formation, Yun Jhin's tongue started to drain elders of their nutrients as more and more piles of dust appeared in the hall, Miedo fell to his knees as he kowtowed and said:

"Father please spare me, father please spare me."

He had gigantic tears in his eyes as they flowed freely down to his chin and he said:

"Think about what mother would say in this situation father, please spare me for the sake of my mother's request, before she died of that illness!"

Yun Jhin seemingly pondered for a second but then his tongue impaled Miedo in his chest as his nutrients were drained but with his last amount of power Miedo said:

"Why?"

Yun Jhin shook his head as he looked down in his eyes and said as he was transforming into dust:

"Because I'm not your father fool."

Dying knowing the truth Miedo's eyes widened as he fully transformed into dust.

The elders were like headless chickens as they tried every possible escape route, they even tried to dig through the foundation of the palace and escape!

Yun Jhin continued feeding as he ate more and more elders, finally, after a while only Nao Mao and the corpse king were left, Nao Mao and the corpse king were both on their knees as they waited, Yun Jhin made a swift motion with his tongue as they both transformed into dust.

Dark eerie energy engulfed Yun Jhin's body as his cultivation base increased, the 6th stage, the 7th stage, and the peak 9th stage!

There it stopped as Yun Jhin breathed out a dark mist that immediately corroded the pillars of the palace!

He left the palace behind as he left the sect's surroundings.

Then he left for the sword devil sect as he emptied the treasury of the most important items, and he did the same with the fairies sect treasury.

Afterward, he left the forest through the northern parts where the fairies sect was based, according to the map he gained from the city lord, his city was located at the southernmost place of the dynasty, to get to the capital he had to go north!

The capital was where he would unleash himself without any consequences, all of the higher elites ki cultivating masters were either dealing with the sect fighters or the assassination attempts, they could at most dispatch some early-stage elites that he could use to break through the body to the ki cultivating realm!

Even though his main body lagging in cultivation as long as he had Sun Sishengs body slowly but surely he could catch up, and if he could find hell's entrance it would be even better!

However it was very unlikely, as the empire had at most a middle to early level King Realm expert so it couldn't even be called a middle-level organization, and only god realm or above organizations were privy to hell's entrance!

There was a chance for such information to be had by middle level or below organizations only if they were favored as a subordinate of a god-level organization but from what it seemed the Long Empire didn't have such luck, nor did the sect with the same power as the empire. If they were favored the god level organization would have already intervened and made the other organization bow down.

Yun Jhin shook his head as he thought about these things and made sure he was on the right way to the capital, as it had the highest population of cultivators, there he could either accumulate enough resources or eat a ki cultivating expert!
