Chapter 84: On-Shelf Acknowledgments
Tomorrow at noon, it will officially hit the shelves.
First off, I want to thank my chief editor Yi Suo. I was actually thinking about putting my pen down for a while, but Yi Suo was too gentle... He kept encouraging and helping me, so this book came into being.
Moreover, Yi Suo even thoughtfully researched selling points for me, outlined the main plot, arranged for the Golden Finger, and designed the setting and levels. I figured, why not just let Yi Suo himself write it for me.
He replied with a single word: Scram.
But could I, Chen... Could I be the person who can be aggrieved?
If he wouldn't write it for me, then I would write it blindly.
Well, it took me just over a dozen chapters before introducing Golden Finger.
Well, it took me forty or fifty chapters before getting to the main plot.
Well, I just wrote whatever I felt like without any commercial gimmicks...
All of the above, just a little joke.
I truly am grateful for Yi Suo's support; he has helped me a lot over the past two years.
A bow of gratitude.
Next, I'd like to thank my enlightening editor who brought me into the industry, Long-Lasting Wind. Haven't seen you for many years, how have you been lately?
If you're free... come and visit me, I'll take you farming, over two acres of it, exceptionally fertile. I can't handle it alone anymore.
Then, I must thank Chief Editor Winnie for taking me into Qidian and helping me find my true platform. There, I have met so many darling readers who can share my feelings.
Additional thanks to Editor Zi Liang, who expanded my understanding of online literature theory and showed me the direction in which I should strive.
And finally...
I'd like to thank all my readers.
You have given me a new lease on life.
Nowadays, the first thing I do every day is farming, and then I can't wait to open the backstage to read your comments.
This is incredibly enjoyable...
Because I know, my readers, that you are laughing because of me, rejoicing because of me.
Because of my existence, you find snippets of joy amid the busy and burdensome life.
What is life for?
My answer is, for oneself.
We are all too tired.
Our time doesn't belong to us.
Every day we face such troubles, such hardships. But no matter how hard we fight, it seems we can never reach the light.
Only those brief moments of respite amid the hustle truly belong to us.
Therefore.
I want to become a flame.
No matter how dim.
No matter how negligible.
No matter how trivial, how utterly ridiculous.
If I can bring you a touch of warmth, a glimmer of a smile, a moment of relaxation...
That is where my value lies.
...
I bow to all my readers.
