Chapter 475 Way Ahead
"Welcome everyone once again to another Bilbeth Premier League match. Your favorite commentator Jim Waterson is here to cover all of it with you alongside my co-commentator Mr. Steve Jefferson." Jim articulated.
"Hello, everyone, It's always nice to be back here to cover the match with you, and we seem to have a pretty interesting match in our hands today." Steve addressed.
"Yeah, it's Ronino FC vs. Unique FC and while all the odds point toward Unique FC coming out on top on this one due to their recent form and overall performance so far this season, we all know how things ended between them in their first meeting this season, they held Unique FC down and managed to drag out a draw from them, they handed them their first draw of the season.
"I know Unique FC will be well prepared this time but who said Ronino FC aren't either? I can't wait to see how this is going to turn out."
The players were already on the pitch now, and after shaking hands with each other, captains of both teams made their way to the match officials for the coin toss.
Unique FC were putting on their standard away kit, the one that was the reverse of their home kit while Ronino FC were putting on their home kit.
A yellow shirt with just a white stripe running diagonally down from the left and black shorts.
Unique FC ended up winning the coin toss which meant that they were going to be the ones starting the match from the kick-off spot.
"Just before the match kicks off, let's take a quick look at the lineups and starting eleven of both sides."
Looks like Ronino FC were going to be using the same formation they used against them the last time, four-four-two and they had everyone in their official starting eleven in the squad.
Norman on the other hand was sticking with the four-three-three formation for this match but it wasn't the one that required a defensive midfielder.
He said he was going all-out in attack for this match and he meant it.
He had Ferran and Minino drop a little deep in central midfield and then up front was Henry as the attacking midfielder.
He was playing with his standard defense, Norman, Aima, Adolf and Roland.
And then upfront he had Mateo on the left, Merino on the left, and in the middle was sixteen-year-old Gregory.
"Well, Norman has some interesting additions in his starting eleven, and this time he's not starting a defensive midfielder."
[ Quest received ]
[ Quest type: Conjoined ]
[ Keep a clean sheet ]
[ Make seven or more crucial saves ]
[ Quest rewards ]
[ +120 exp ]
[ +2 stat points ]
[ +5 skill upgrade points ]
'And once again, it's another case of getting tough quests with mediocre rewards.' The goalkeeper said subconsciously as he made his way to his goalpost.
<This quest doesn't look hard to me>
'Really? What if the shots to make those seven crucial saves never come?"
<Yeah, that's something that could happen, but it still doesn't justify calling the quest tough, for you at least, and I thought you don't care much about the rewards now>
'Well, I need the skill upgrade points to upgrade my skills since I no longer use them that much in matches, and if only there were more quests with attribute points rewards.'
<Well, to get an attribute points reward, you guys will have to go up against really tough opponents>
'Will Lyon do it?'
<Umm, I can't really tell now, we'll have to wait and see>
'Oh, just give a straightforward answer for once, Catherine.'
<I wish I could, but most of the time, that is beyond my capabilities>
'Yeah, right.'
The voices of the fans were going up now with chants because the match was just about to kick off.
Everyone was in their positions on their sides, and Gregory was standing over the ball in the kick-off spot waiting for the referee's whistle.
It didn't take long before the high-pitched sound of the whistle pierced through the air, and as soon as the young striker heard it, he quickly sent the ball rolling to Ferran who sent it rolling back to Roland as soon as he got his foot on it.
"There's the whistle and we are on the way."
Roland had to push the ball to Adolf who quickly sent it rolling to Norman.
"Norman."
Norman pushed a little forward with the ball, and just before Xavier could get to him, he quickly pushed the ball to Henry down the middle.
Henry quickly turned with the ball as soon as he got it, and just before Zen could get to him, he found Mateo down the left wing and quickly sent the ball flying over to him.
However, his pass seemed to have had a bit of error as the midfielder in the area was able to get to it with his head just before it could get to Mateo.
"Nice interception."
The ball was heading toward Zen but just before could get his foot on it, Minino popped up from the side and stole the ball with a slide.
"And Minino gets the ball back for his team."
With the ball now in his possession, the midfielder quickly got up from the floor and sent the ball rolling to Ferran who quickly pushed it back to Roland.
"Back to Roland."
As soon as Roland got his foot on the ball, he pushed a little forward with it as Sandro and Zen quickly headed his way, but just before they could get to him, he pulled his right foot back and sent the ball flying all the way to Merino.
"He sends it flying deep toward the right."
Merino was able to bring the ball down with his chest just before the left-back could get to him and without hesitation, he pushed the ball to Minino before quickly moving forward.
"He moves it back to Minino."
Minino only got a touch on the ball before he passed the ball to Gregory who immediately sent it rolling to Mateo with a flick.
"Mateo."
Mateo quickly raced down the wing with the ball dragging two of the defenders in the area with him to create space for Gregory, and once he found the striker in a good enough space, he sent the ball rolling back to him.
"Mateo drops it down to Gregory, Gregory!"
The striker fired the ball straight toward the goalpost as soon as he got his foot on it.
However, his shot ended up hitting the defender in his way before deflecting toward the left.
Mateo quickly rushed toward the ball and managed to get his foot on it just before it could hit the floor.
He still had the defenders behind him, but there was nothing they could do to stop him as he pushed it over the goalkeeper's hand and straight into the goalpost with the inside of his boot.
"Goooaaalll!" Jim exclaimed as the winger quickly got up from the floor and took off to the sidelines with his teammates racing toward him. "He did well to capitalize on that rebound and now they are ahead! His twenty-ninth goal of the season in twenty-seven games, Mateo Smith is having an unbelievable season!"
"Yeah, I don't think Roland's coming close now, he's way ahead," Steve commented.
