Chapter 9
===009 1.5 Million Years===
So, Su Hao studied, ate, and slept every day.
As his understanding of life deepened, he began to comprehend the greatness and fragility of life.
When he learned that life itself contains many miracles that cannot be accurately understood through science, he specifically searched for references in Taoist scriptures, Buddhist scriptures, and traditional Chinese medicine theory in order to understand how ancient philosophers viewed life and its miracles.
One concept mentioned in those texts left Su Hao puzzled.
“Xin Li”!
Xin Li is an important factor that can turn decay into miracles, and it is capable of creating wonders.
But what is Xin Li exactly? Some say it is the power of a person’s thoughts, others say it is a person’s beliefs, inner desires, longing for life, indomitable spirit in the face of difficulties… There are even claims that it can determine life and death. Xin Li directed towards life results in a long life, whereas Xin Li directed towards death leads to various illnesses.
These phenomena exist in reality, but science cannot currently explain them. It is expected that with continuous exploration, humanity will eventually find an answer.
So, in “The Light of the Universe,” Su Hao established a new subject called “Xin Xue” (the study of the heart). He included the ancient philosophers’ thoughts on life, consciousness, and souls, waiting to delve into them seriously in the future.
Meanwhile, his body grew increasingly thin, his appearance deteriorated, but the light in his eyes still shimmered.
He understood that his time in this world was limited.
Reflecting on his life for over a decade, he had no regrets. He had attained what he wanted. If he were to mention any regrets, it was that there was still much to learn, and he had not yet reached adulthood, missing the chance to meet the beautiful and sweet little sister he had imagined.
During his treatment, his body endured immense pain. He personally experienced the torment and helplessness of late-stage cancer patients. On one hand, there was hope for life, believing that miracles would occur, while on the other hand, there was unbearable suffering and longing for liberation.
Who wouldn’t want to live happily? However, some argue that suffering is inherent to human existence. Perhaps, life is about seeking hope amidst destruction?
This is unknown. Although Su Hao endured pain, he never entertained the idea of ending his own life. Firstly, he had to face his parents’ hope, and secondly, he wanted to collect information on the entire process from disease progression to its demise, believing that this information would be useful someday in the future.
Regardless of Su Hao’s thoughts or his parents’ attempts to persuade him, that day would ultimately come.
Su Hao’s parents repeatedly asked by his side, “Xiaohui, do you have any other wishes?”
In his final moments, Su Hao struggled to smile and said, “Thank you, Mom. Thank you, Dad.”
At this moment, Luo Chaoxin approached, looking at his older brother with hope in his eyes.
Su Hao smiled but didn’t pay him any attention. Instead, he said to his parents, “Goodbye!”
It is presumed that once he closed his eyes, they would never meet again.
In his heart, he silently said, “I’m sorry for occupying your son’s time but being unable to accompany you in your old age. Luo Chaoxin, take good care of our parents.”
Accompanied by heart-wrenching cries, Su Hao’s consciousness once again sank into darkness.
A genius passed away at the age of only sixteen, causing great regret.”
“Humanity has been missing out on 50 years of brilliant culture.”
“The first genius of all time, the life of Luo Zhaohui.”
“The most dazzling meteor of this century, although short-lived, will surely amaze for a thousand years.”
“Does anyone know the name of the missing one of the Four Great Classics that Master Luo Zhaohui mentioned?”
On this day, the entire world felt either sadness or joy, how Su Hao was being evaluated by them, he no longer knew……
……
Su Hao gradually regained consciousness. He found himself transformed into a little boy around two years old, currently being carried on the neck of a tall and strong man. His hands were tightly gripping the man’s head, afraid of accidentally falling to the ground.
Although he was somewhat prepared for this, he still felt some reluctance. In the previous world, he was just about to achieve great success, and he hadn’t had enough fun yet.
But now, here he was, starting all over again, becoming a fragile little boy with no ability to protect himself.
From losing consciousness in the previous world to now recovering consciousness, Su Hao didn’t feel that much time had passed. It felt like a sweet sleep, waking up to find that all the illness and suffering that once plagued his body had disappeared. His body felt incredibly light and filled with energy, even though his hands were short and weak, he thoroughly enjoyed this feeling of being free from pain.
After waking up, Su Hao realized that the man was carrying him on a hurried journey, dressed in tattered armor, holding a sword and shield in his hands. Since there didn’t seem to be any immediate danger, Su Hao put his mind at ease and entered the pinball space, starting to examine the log.
As soon as his consciousness entered the pinball space, Su Hao was struck by shock.
It wasn’t because the appearance of the pinball space had changed drastically; it still looked like a living room. What shocked him was the clock on the wall. The time displayed on it filled him with deep fear.
“1532648 years, March 25th, day 3, hour 3, minute 21, second.”
After just a short sleep, more than one and a half million years had passed. It was such an exaggerated time span, beyond Su Hao’s imagination. The recorded history of human civilization on Earth only dates back 5,000 years.
Waking up once again, everything from the past was probably gone, all the grudges and grievances, all the glorious achievements, had disappeared completely. The immense wealth that he once took pride in, the prestigious reputation of Huaguo (Hua County), and the worldwide praise, all those so-called famous people throughout history now seemed meaningless.
The only thing left was the information quietly lying in the pinball space. Everything that had happened was recorded there, and only this information made the previous world appear vivid and alive.
“Information?” Su Hao murmured.
That’s right, he suddenly understood. Information is the most important thing, or to put it simply, knowledge. For life, knowledge is the most important. All the knowledge he had learned truly existed, these knowledge treasures were accumulated by the entire civilization over countless years.
He continued to browse through the log.
“3 years, May 7th, day 0, hour 0, minute 0, second.
Entering unknown space, automatic joining of the comparison, successful comparison, recording coordinates;”
……
“5 years, February 4th, day 0, hour 0, minute 0, second.
Entering unknown space, automatic joining of the comparison, successful comparison, recording coordinates;”
……
“100 years, September 12th, day 0, hour 0, minute 0, second.
Entering unknown space, automatic joining of the comparison, successful comparison, recording coordinates;”
……
“359 years, January 18th, day 0, hour 0, minute 0, second.
Entering unknown space, attracted by high-quality celestial bodies, change of direction. Automatic joining of the comparison, successful comparison, recording coordinates;”
……
“1526 years, August 25th, day 0, hour 0, minute 0, second.
Entering unknown space, influenced by cosmic magnetic field, change of direction. Automatic joining of the comparison, failed comparison, establishing a new star map, successful establishment;”
Quickly jump to view the latest log.
“1532648 years, March 24th, 0 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds.
Entering unknown starry sky, discovered abnormal gravity, gravity locked, unable to move. Automatically joined the comparison, comparison failed, established new star chart, establishment successful;”
This message was refreshed three hours ago, indicating that three hours ago, the bullet space successfully landed on the little boy.
While Su Hao was checking, he was thinking that this “The Light of the Universe” system is not perfect enough, unable to record more information during roaming, this needs to be supplemented properly.
In the future, through comparing star charts, one could know their position in the The Light of the Universe.
“Missing a cosmic spatial coordinate system.”
