Chapter 224: Spirit realm lords
Upon saying the word 'Devour' the massive cluster of darkness with blood-red eyes shot towards Derik with its razor-sharp teeth wide open! It had deemed that Derik was some sort of anomaly and was desperate to remove him!
"It actually noticed? This world is not too shabby after all!" Derik grinned as he stretched his hands forward and a powerful wave of darkish green aura surged forward and smashed into the inheritance.
He was stunned by the fact that the death inheritance of this world was able to tell that his god soul was a foreign soul even though it had completely fused with the body. If it were any other person, they would have been consumed and killed by the inheritance but Derik was definitely an exception.
With a wide grin on his face and a look that spelled doom for his enemies, Derik watched his darkish green aura battle with the inheritance! The inheritance slowly attempted to devour it but each time it ate Derik's death aura, it felt weaker and Deirk soon gained the upper hand! Destruction has always been the ultimate goal of his death magic but thanks to this world he had a new outlook towards the Death magic! He viewed things in a way no one ever expected before and he was willing to make this power his!
As his death aura struggled with the Inheritance, Derik focused on forming his martial technique. In the spirit realm, a person can form their martial technique and for a long while now, Derik has only searched for every martial technique related to evil magic but none impressed him until he saw this inheritance.
"Death is not all about destruction... it's not all about chaos! Death consumes life to birth life... We consume the dead to create the living! Death is not one side of a coin like I used to think, Death is the entire coin!" Derik growled the last part and his eyes yanked open, revealing a blood-red color!
"Devour!!" Derik growled as he withdrew his aura and released it once again.
Unlike before his aura was no longer darkish green but completely black! He watched as his aura grew in size, surpassing the inheritance and ultimately consuming it!
In the darkness, Derik felt the inheritance surge into his body and soul and he felt his soul evolving once again! Even after reaching the realm protector level, his soul remained at the god level but right now, Derik could feel it getting stronger and expanding.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Derik laughed like a mad man as his soul perfectly merged with his body and for the first time in a long time Derik actually felt like this is his real body!
He no longer felt the restrictions of the world but his power level remained the same. Derik felt like he may have gained the right to be called a member of this world but he sacrificed his original god-level cultivation for this inheritance.
"This is unexpected but it doesn't mean much... As long as I can cultivate, I can definitely return to the god realm in no time... My advantage against people in their anomaly is gone but I gained something even greater... Devour" Derik said as he felt his body getting ejected from the darkness by an invisible force!
BOOM!
Following the powerful explosion, a massive gate appeared in the destroyed creed stronghold and two figures appeared. The first was a man with long black ghastly hair with blood-red eyes and razor-sharp black teeth. He wore a black sleeveless mage robe giving him a chilling aura that would make any person fearful. Seeing Derik now, no one could recognize Dean anymore since he has completely changed.
Meanwhile, the second person Lucien who had bolts of lightning circling his body violently. He seemed to have aged more and his body build was no inferior to that of Derik. His body was blessed with bright blue dragon scales which and his eyes were like that of a reptile! Although the physical change was not as much as Derik he carried this wild feeling that made people wonder if fighting him was any different from fighting Derik.
Now that both of them had collected their inheritance, they were both at the spirit realm and both of them looked extremely fierce. With the creed forces defeated, Lucien actually felt he had a chance against Derik now. He gazed at Derik with a clenched fist wondering whether to kill him or not. Derik noticed his gaze and slowly turned to face him with an uninterested look on his face.
Those watching through. The crystal transmitters held their breath! No one knew what will happen if both sides clashed but they were excited and waiting to see it happen.
"You may be at the same level now... But my power is quite different... If you fight me here... You will die" Derik said casually and to everyone's surprise Lucien nodded in agreement.
Although he felt his current power level is on the same level as Derik he could tell that he could not be compared to Derik. If he had an army, yes he could attempt to overwhelm Derik with numbers but if he tried to fight Derik in a one versus one battle, he felt like his inheritance was not necessarily good against Derik's.
"What now?" Lucien asked as his body relaxed and he looked less aggressive.
"We both know about the invasion about to happen... We know what is about to come... And we know that we are the best shots at saving this continent... We go back to our respective empires and get them to join hands in uniting this empire... Only together do we stand a chance against the enemy " Derik said calmly with little or no emotions.
"Do you really think the Human Emperor will agree to work with the Beast Emperor of the Fotia Empire?" Lucien asked with a raised eyebrow and Derik frowned.
"If he doesn't wish to listen and cooperate, I will have to take his place and do it for him... The survival of the continent comes first... Nothing else matters!" Derik said firmly
