Chapter 48: 11th Floor's Domain - The Unhinged Obscurus!
The flow of time stagnated and then reversed within the Bounded Field.
The purple fire about to disintegrate the Hogwarts students to ashes went against its fiery concept and began tracing back its path. The undead Graphorn took several steps back, losing control of its body. The Zouwu's paw never descended and began rising high and high, instead.
The thing was, Selene had only recently evolved, bypassing many Grades.
Even she had been hard time controlling her Skills. If she had used Time Shift willingly, then she could have directed the Skill toward one target or spatial coordinates. With her being Imperiused by the Obscurus now, she threw it out like a wild, magical beast, covering as much space as possible.
Not only did it bring down the efficacy of the Spell, but it also meant it wouldn't last for more than a few moments.
In return, it covered everyone within the Bounded Field.
In return, it covered the caster of the Skill itself.
In return, it covered the Obscurus, too. Not much rationality was left in this violent torrent of darkness anymore, anyway. Whatever it was doing was based on instincts. And with every passing second, even those instincts were vanishing, taking a strange, twisted turn.
For Darcie's ambitions, and her incredible will to achieve Greatness, influencing the Obscurus even after losing herself, this could already be considered an unimaginable, commendable feat.
Now, time was running out… for all of them.
As the greatest wizards fighting in the sky struggled to resist the backward flow of time, the Obscurus, defying all logic, sluggishly churned, aiming toward the Graphorn and the Zouwu. However, no matter how much it willed, it couldn't move ahead more than a few inches.
It was apparent that the use of Time Shift had only delayed the inevitable. Once the Skill was over, all movements would resume, turning these entire events into a time loop.
Even after arriving at this stage, even after pouring everything into it, hope was still slipping out of her grasp.
The fluid-like dark, foggy mass blurred, taking the form of a green-lightning-haired girl. Her figure kept switching between black smoke and flesh, an eerie noise reverberating in her surroundings. When her eyes opened, her tired, dark gaze fell upon the students and their seemingly inevitable fate.
Sigh!
The Obscurial let out a breath, her wand slipping out of her hand.
This time, when the girl vanished, blurring out of existence, only the terrifying black mass remained. Moments passed, but the blackness didn't regain the girl's appearance.
Darcie Malfoy, after shocking all with the stupendous display of magic, had finally passed out.
Crrkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

Within Darcie's mind, Kai was observing the changes minutely with the help of Ad Infinitum.
With the memory that the Obscurus had accessed, the AI had already been calculating some truly horrifying and heart-palpating, but equally fascinating theories. Now it remained to see what other memories, and of which Random World, it would access.
Kai wasn't too much worried about the Outside right now.
Whenever Kai went out of his Identity Period, he transferred most of his Skills and Abilities to Black. In some untoward scenarios, like this one, Black could take center stage and act in his stead.
For now, Kai just wanted to gather as much data as possible.
Unfortunately, Luck wasn't in his favor anymore.
The thick bolts of green lightning were still snaking and rebounding between the yellow crystals when they just…
… disappeared.
Huh?!

No matter how much the Ad Infinitum calculated, it couldn't find any solution to prevent the Timeline Detonation.
Not when Black himself couldn't move.
With Selene reaching a B- grade, it didn't surprise him that her Skill could affect him so.
He didn't know how strong the Six from the Orders would be if they ever decided to step out of their holes and roam through this world once more. For now, even if one were to take Dumbledore's real potential and the Obscurus' current strength into account, Selene remained the most powerful existence within this Random World.
Kai had even believed that both he and Black had to go all out if it came to trade blows with the Three-Headed Devourer.
So, for now, the greatest disaster wasn't the impending Timeline Detonation, but Selene.
Being helpless against the incoming doom, Black put all his mind to regaining control over the giant white serpent, lest the magical creature ruin all plans under the Obscurus' control.
-Selene!- Black hissed, his head turning forward to look at the dragon against his will. -Re…-
The Item hadn't finished uttering the word when the entire surroundings went eerie silent.
For a moment, Black couldn't think why it was so quiet. It was then he noticed the missing purple color as the dragon's fire kept returning to its mouth under the Skill's effect.
And if he could see purple…
… then where was the green?!
It clicked, not only in Black's, but in all minds.
The green bolts of lightning, cracking and booming out of the mass of blackness, had vanished.
The dull-gray notification appeared, ignoring all laws of time.
…
[
Contestant Kai Stormborn, you are hereby warned.
The Anomaly has stepped into the 11th-floor's Domain.
Time to Timeline Detonation: 2 minutes
…
To assist the Supreme Protector, Chaos is willing to accept one reasonable request.

…
Inside Black's mind, the AI buzzed furiously as it processed the sudden fall of 8 minutes to the Timeline Detonation.
Outside, his mouth was still moving, finishing the hissing command. -… tur…-
Crrkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
Under Black's shocked gaze, a mass of blackness suddenly appeared over his head.
The Obscurus didn't let him say the word Return.
It fell upon him like rain, oozing out the most hideous and twisted noise.
It was so fast that Black couldn't even retaliate, despite his monstrous strength and current Intelligence. The only thing he could do was to send the Items on him back to Inventory at the last moment.
Then he got ripped to shreds.
Boom!
The entire ground quaked as the Obscurus took pieces of Black and buried him 100 meters deep into the earth.

Crrkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
The Obscurus melted out of the air over the dragon.
There were no booms or bangs. It seeped within the skeleton and crushed the undead so thoroughly that one couldn't even see the dust of the bones. Even the purple pillar of fire returning under the Skill's effect just hung midair, almost motionless, not knowing where it was supposed to go.
Crrkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
The undead Graphorn and Zouwu lost their ghostly, green fire, along with their bodies simultaneously, despite being a hundred meters away from each other.
Crrkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
A giant, severed head of a 60-foot-tall Basilisk fell on the ground, the three Thunderbirds flying around its body melting into a mass of blackness.
Crrkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
Even Merlin's Magic had failed to stop Ekrizdis from disapparating to short distances within the Bounded Field.
So, when the Obscurus materialized in front of him, he too cracked out of existence, finally choosing to Disapparate. The reverse flow of time couldn't prevent him from changing locations if the Lord of Azkaban desired so.
Instantaneously, on the ground, the colossal Three-Headed Devourer's eyes went eerily dark. The third eye on the middle head, which had remained closed for so long, opened up.
Another hiss rang out as a dull, stony gaze fell upon the Inferi before he could disapparate.
-Space.-
Skill - Space Lock!
Then, Ekrizdis, Herpo the Foul's Horcrux, turned into stone.
Ability - Petrification!
One blow from the Obscurus shattered the undead statute to pieces.
Crrkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!
