Chapter 33:
I open my eyes slowly. My vision is blurry but after a few seconds, it is back to how it used to be. No, my vision is better. For some reason, the dimly lit room is much clearer than even when I use my night vision spell. I got up from the ground and I am stunned by the fact that I am completely naked.
Dry blood could be seen on my body and the pool of blood on the ground is nowhere to be seen.
“What happened to my clothes?”
Your pet slime ate them. Not only that it ate your pool of blood too.
I look over at Lime and there is no reaction. Even its shinny grey colour is now dull.
“What happened to him?
Don’t know. After eating your blood, it became like that.
“I see. He’s evolving.”
Evolving?
“Yeah. He’s not multiplying but evolving. Quite interesting.” I say as I stroke my chin.
The reason I say he’s evolving is based on his energy readings. They are climbing little by little even now.
Wait kid. Can you explain more why its evolving?
“It seems Lime has the ability to consume energy as we’ve seen so far. The energy within the magic cores coupled with the energy within my cells even though they were dead cells was enough to cause this evolution. Just what can’t you eat bud?” I say as I pat the slumbering Lime.
I wonder what differences will come with his evolution.
“How long have I been out?”
Two day-
Exactly 40 hours, 33 minutes and 47 seconds.
Ariel cuts off Ray.
“I see.”
I could hear Ray grunting at Ariel. Ariel only responded with a “hmph”. I guess she didn’t like taking orders from Ray huh. Technically, Ariel could be said to be also Ray’s child of sort considering she was made from a piece of his soul. That also goes for the Pillars.
But none of them like that fact every time I point it out. I guess I could be said I’m the parent the favour most in this relationship. Somehow that feels good. I guess I’ll let this be the punishment this time Ray. I’ll let it be emotional damage.
I look at my body and although I am covered in dry blood, I could see the difference clearly. I open my hand then close it repeatedly. I could tell the difference. That potion was dangerous. If it was consumed by someone else, there’s no doubt about it. They would have died.
Let me explain how the potion worked. The potion had two functions. Destruction and reconstruction. What it did was it destroyed all of my cells, bones, muscle tissues and even my organs to nothing before reconstructing them again. The good thing about it is that it didn’t have those effects on my core, mana veins and mana network otherwise I’d be dead.
Well, just the effects it had were enough to kill me in a way. For example, all of my organs were destroyed and reconstructed anew. Anyone would have died from the pain alone, but having your heart for example, destroyed before having it be reconstructed would kill someone since a heart is needed to live.
Of course, that’s different for me. After a ton of experimentation with mana, I was able to discover that you can use mana to transport blood through your body. It’s difficult to do since you literally need to know your body inch by inch and you need to be an expert in mana control.
I also discovered that you could supply all the necessary nutrients to your brain using mana. Meaning the brain can actually survive without blood being transported to it as long as you have mana and are proficient at using it.
The effects of the potion were strong enough to even go after my brain but due to my brain being protected by my mindscape, the effects of destruction and reconstruction were blocked. And yeah, I would have died if they reached my brain.
Well, not technically dead since my thought process isa within my mindscape but I wouldn’t be able to use my body fully. And my skin would probably rot since blood wouldn’t be flowing, it’s a bit too complicated to explain further than I already have.
All in all, I’d be dead but not dead since my consciousness and soul would be protected. Sigh, I’d be dead in terms of earth’s standards. I hope that makes sense. Well, I’d probably be dead in terms of this world’s standard too.
Just from this alone, it makes me wonder why Casandra created such a potion? Was she planning on drinking it? Even though she was of the Draconic race, there’s no doubt she would have died. Maybe she realised that too which is why she locked it up.
Enough of that, I close my eyes and begin analysing my body. I could use my mindscape or order Ariel to analyse my body, but I decided to do it myself using a technique I created for before acquiring mindscape. This technique isn’t as efficient as using mindscape, but I always liked it.
Every time I would use this technique, all my senses would go silent. They would be focused on my body. Darkness would cover my senses and then, the sound of my heart beating would resound. With every heartbeat the sound grew louder and more profound.
Then, the sound of my lungs contracting and the breaths I take would feel my ears like drums. Blood flowing through my veins sounded more like a body of water trickling down a gentle stream. All of that process is simply outstanding. I open my eyes as I take a breath of air letting it out. I feel a sense of refreshment that I haven’t felt in a long time.
Probably even better than when I felt mana for the first time. Considering I am dirty and naked, I decided to tear space and open up my rest space.

In the huge and beautifully made bath, I am relaxing in my bubble bath. It is different from the other times I took a bath here. And the difference is done by the laws of nature. I say laws of nature, but they also include the laws of earth, water, wind, fire and also nature itself. I prefer categorising these particular laws as one due to the fact that they support nature in one way or the other.
For example, the laws of earth are responsible for growth. The laws of water and wind are always needed wherever life is. And fire brings warmth neglecting the fact that it also brings destruction.
Which is why I categorised them as the laws of nature. After finishing my bath, I wear my light blue t-shirt made from Cinnamon’s silk webs along with black short pants and some well-crafted sneakers. I also wear a jet-black leather jacket. I managed to successfully recreate fashion of my old world. The people of the village were a bit freaked out at first but eventually, they started wearing then.
I could wear my formal aristocratic clothes but no. I hate formal attire. I only have those clothes because Abaddon couldn’t stop pestering me about them. As I look at myself in the mirror, I am impressed again by my handsome fixtures.
I doubt anyone could compete with me in this department. I notice the necklace hanging around my neck. I hold it and feel it within the tips of my fingers. The intricate lines and the coolness of the material feel rather good. A thought of my mother pops up in my mind. I still remember her clearly even now thanks to mindscape.
I brush away those thoughts as I exit the rest area.
