Chapter 72: An Interesting Reveal.
Noticing their gaze upon her, the woman saw the look on Melissa’s face, and wisely decided to pretend that she didn’t notice the two at all. This was greatly wise and honestly saved the woman’s life.
Returning her attention to the pole that she was dancing on, Monia was feeling the heat. But she was a patient person, so Monia just waited until Melissa calmed down.
Monia: “Is she someone that you hate?” She asked with a curious tone.
Melissa: “Hate? No, no. That woman is my Mother, you see.” She answered with a giggle.
Monia: “???” “FUCK! No wonder she was so damn angry…” She thought with a nervous tone of realization.
Being smart as well, Monia decided to not mention Melissa’s mother anymore. Or rather, she tried not to do so, but upon thinking about it more… she just couldn’t help herself. “Why is Melissa’s mother working at a place like this? Dancing on a pole… I have to know!” She thought with an impatient tone.
Monia: “May I ask why she is working here?” She asked, somewhat nervously.
Melissa: “You just did.” She replied with a grin.
Monia: “…”
Melissa: “She has some debts to pay, and rather than work a normal, hard job, I’ve let her work here.” She explained.
Monia: “Here? But… I didn’t see any other cars in the parking lot.” She added with a thinking pose.
Melissa: “Ah, that is because, unlike that wanton capitalist, Risa, I am more romantic. This restaurant is just for us, no one else can eat here.” She replied with a proud tone.
Monia: “…Then how will your mother pay off her debts? This place only works for us…” She asked with an empathic tone.
Melissa: “Mother lost her money through gambling, almost destroying our entire family. You can be empathic to her, as she had a mental problem, which has already been treated.” She replied with a stern tone.
Monia: “And?” She said, hoping that there was more to her words.
Melissa: “Those employed here… show up to work every day, and get paid a large amount, even if we do not eat here. As such, it is an easy job.” She clarified.
This explanation was good, but Monia was conflicted. “Is making your own mother dance on a stripper pole really considered giving them an easy job?” She thought with a sigh.
Melissa: “Do you think me wrong for making her dance on a pole?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Monia: “…No. I just think that such a job isn’t really easy.” She replied with a shake of her cute head.
Melissa: “Pole dancing is hard, yes. But Mother loves doing it. She even has a pole installed in her estate, you see. Rather than a hard job, I basically just help her pay off her millions upon millions of dollars of debt, while letting her do something that she finds fun. Not to mention… she is even dancing when we aren’t here eating.” She said with a calm tone, fully explaining herself and her mother’s situation.
Of course, with this, and seeing how the woman didn’t try to retort on anything that Melissa said, made Monia content.
Rather than worry about things like that, the woman just went back to enjoying her meal, all the while Melissa watched the girl eat with glee. That sight… makes Melissa greatly happy, it seems.
