Chapter 24- Marriage~2!
Kamazaki Minoru.
The heir of one of the prominent families who has reigned supremacy since the ancient time of civilization. The clan stood against various threats to keep humanity live under remaining peace.
The Organisation, name Dimensional Vanguard, was pioneered by the Kamazaki clan. A board was constructed in hope of fighting against inhumane beings.
Kamazaki provided the best personnel at those times, which helped the realm defend against those of whom typical humans aren't even aware about.
One could guess what prestige and power such a clan might hold after so many favors they have bestowed upon humanity. Not to talk about the personal army the Kamazaki clan has under their influence.
Now after the patriarch of such a clan, who could be called the second person in power?
Naturally, the prime successor of the throne, who would replace the current lord and continue to run the clan for a better and prosperous future.
That person is Minoru Kamazaki.
Along with almost unparalleled political power, Minoru was adorned with a charming face that had stolen countless maidens' sleep.
A man with power and charm was a deadly combination that any woman could dream of.
Despite having the capability to win over almost every female he came across, Minoru's heart string got connected with a General in the Organization whom he confessed in front of a whole crowd in the most romantic way.
Kaori Fujiwara.
But little did he expect that he, Minoru Kamazaki, would get rejected such brutally. But he didn't feel insulted since he genuinely had fallen for the charming General.
He took it as a challenge and decided to take things slow. But the rumors called that Kaori was secretly dating her childhood friend, who made Minoru terrifyingly agitated.
Resulting...
"I wouldn't advise you to move, Kaori, if you worry about that boy."
Saying in a heavy voice; the handsome blond man in his early twenties crossed his leg while sitting on the throne, about twenty meters away from the two prisoners.
It wasn't tricky for Kaori to understand the situation as she glared at the person with a sheer look of hatred and anger.
"Minoru Kamazaki. If you let Kei go, then I might put an easy death on you."
"KNOW YOUR PLACE, WOMAN!!"
A guard moved toward Kaori as he heard the prince being bad-mouthed, but before he could have even neared a meter near the woman, blue lightning evaporated his body into nothingness.
All the other guards shivered as they saw Minoru's heated temper before they resolved to move only when ordered.
"I ask for forgiveness for showing you such unsightly behavior. Ah, yes. You may try to resist Kaori, but that boy will die as soon I snap my finger. And in the first place, do you think you have the strength to kill me?"
As he said, Kaori indeed was feeling weakened, like her mana had been restricted and heavy shackles were weighing her down. Despite her facial feature being worked up because of aggressiveness, her determination to attack Minoru has crumbled because of Kei's safety.
From what she could sense, it was some ancient binding runes working actively around Kei and prohibiting him from even moving an inch.
It was hurting Kaori to see him in such a situation, or more to it, this happened because of none other than herself.
Gritting her teeth, she turned to her front before shouting with a voice that oozed with utter rage.
"What do you want!?"
"You."
Minoru's answer was fluent, like he have anticipated such a query. And looking at Kaori's unsurprised expression, it seemed she also was aware of his desire.
"Why are you so fixated on me?! There are a lot of women out there who are drooling to be with you!"
Kaori had no idea why this bastard was so intrigued by her when she only has met him once or twice before. Was love such a causal thing to feel toward someone?
"We both know there is no point talking about it since there isn't a single thing I don't adore about Kaori. So please, if you want that boy to live, form a soul contract with me."
Kaori's face went pale as she heard about the contract, which undoubtedly she wasn't expecting at all.
A soul contract would be the last thing she would want to get bonded with anyone other than Kei. She couldn't even think about such something, which was fundamentally equivalent to betraying her love for Kei.
But what choices she had?
If she doesn't step forward here, Kei will be killed. She doesn't have any resources to stop Minoru other than her strength. And that resource is also snatched away.
"Choose Kaori. Whether you back away and lose your childhood friend or marry me and let your little friend forget about you for the rest of his life. And also, I promise you to provide security and wealth for him until you become mine. So think carefully before you take that step."
Kaori felt her world-shattering before her eyes. How much she thought of not betraying Kei, her primary wish was to see him alive.
How much she trained and became strong until now, all went futile.
She couldn't even protect the one she loved the most until she didn't sell herself off!
A drop of tears dripped down her cheek as her eyes burned with rage and grief.
But in the end, she has to make the decision.
'I am sorry...Kei... '
