Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 84: Chapter 44 Ancient Calamity_3

When human civilization first reached its glorious zenith, it encountered the magical tidal changes of the Aijieka Sea, which instantly damaged the three crowns that supported human civilization, leading to the collective death of the Transcenders in the Aijieka Sea. The trillions of dead human soul remnants later gave birth to a virus that pervaded and distorted the world, known as the Chaos Phantom.

In order to avoid this catastrophe that swept across the Milky Way, the survivors at the time had to flee and hide, until tens of thousands of years later, they slowly rose again, re-entering this starry sea world.

According to the Eternity Covenant of human sages and Loranshia, this disaster should have been annihilated from the conceptual level of universal laws, so how could it appear again?

Tilan couldn't figure it out, but she thought it best to stop this arch villain regardless, for its actions had already threatened the world she lived in.

"Who are you!?"

The shadow below looked up at the girl who suddenly descended. She appeared to be about 16 years old, not yet mature, but her special abilities, as well as her luxurious Magic Attire, made him cautious in his response.

Tilan didn't speak. She didn't want to waste too many words, which might give her opponent an opening to exploit.

With a simple lift of her hand, several Azure Crystals emitting a chill emerged behind her and then, with a sweep of her hand, shot out like swords.

The shadow shattered an azure crystal with his remaining arm, but soon several other crystals penetrated his body and the surrounding puddles. The penetrating power of the crystals wasn't strong, but the cold they brought was bone-chilling.

The water at his feet instantly condensed, trapping his legs so that he could no longer pull free. Then, he lost all feeling in his lower body, and his chest gradually became enveloped in coldness. Strands of cold flowed from all directions towards his pulsating heart, and intense pain yanked at him from his chest.

Using his last bit of strength, he again twisted a cylinder open, and smoke-like Chaos Phantom spilled out once more. This pervasive distortion contaminated everything, confusing the consciousness of all nearby living beings and shattering memories.

So, this is the Chaos Phantom, she thought; it was previously just a perception, but now she was in close contact. Tilan looked at the swirling mist before her. Although textbooks and history books described the horror of this disaster at length, she felt no danger, as if the air had just become slightly cooler.

Strange, why do I feel this thing is no threat? Could it be causing me to have an illusion?

Tilan swung her umbrella and blinked hundreds of meters away, observing from a distance once more, but still, just like before, nothing was amiss.

Odd, the girl thought, closing her eyes to sense her body and Soul Consciousness in detail, checking every corner thoroughly several times for any distortion or concealment before reopening her eyes.

It seems there truly is no threat. She cocked her head, approached again, and lightly raised her hand. The pervasive Chaos Phantom began to gather and then condensed into a smoke-grey crystal, which fell into her clear palm.

Is that all there is to it? she thought to herself.

After a few seconds, she decided it was better not to keep such a thing on her person. She placed the smoke-grey crystal back into the cylinder and sealed it again.

By this time, the shadow in the water had stopped breathing, turned into a stiff statue.

Tossing the cylinder onto the statue, Tilan took another careful look and sensed the surroundings. Seeing that no one had followed her down, she began to set up.

Soon after the setup was complete, her figure disappeared again into a purple rift.

About 30 minutes later, hurried footsteps echoed underground. Platoon after platoon of fully armed soldiers entered the waterlogged cave, and Autonomous Hover Machines flitted about, illuminating everything brightly, like daylight. Scanners also roamed, extending their waves in all directions and continuously reporting information about the surroundings.

[Searching for key items...]

Minutes later, two special cylinders were retrieved from the side of the corpse and placed in a nearby sealing box.

"Reporting! Search complete, key targets and items have been captured and retrieved; the site will now be sealed off."

This underground cavern was comprehensively sealed off afterward, and this chaos finally came to an end.
