Chapter 380: THROUGH HEAVEN AND EARTH (2)
Looking around in the air, Natasha realized how ridiculous the situation was,
"Let's go on a tour shall we?"
Adam did not give her the chance to answer as he changed the way he hugged her and took her in a princess carry.
"It will be fun."
Natasha let out a squeak as they suddenly accelerated.
As they soared through the heavens, the sky at noon stretched out endlessly before them. The sun, a blazing orb of light, hung directly overhead, casting a radiant glow that illuminated every detail below. The cerulean expanse seemed to expand infinitely, a seamless sea of blue that melded with the horizon in all directions.
Above, wisps of delicate cirrus clouds danced gracefully, catching the sunlight and transforming into strands of silver and gold. These celestial brushstrokes added texture to the vast tableau, creating a striking contrast against the deep blue backdrop.
As the altitude increased, the atmosphere underwent a subtle shift in hue. The blue of the lower sky gradually deepened, creating a gentle gradient that added a sense of elevation. The air itself acted as a diffuser, softening the edges of shadows and enhancing the intricate patterns of the landscape below.
From this elevated vantage point, the world unfurled in a mosaic of colors and forms. Rolling landscapes, snaking rivers, and bustling towns appeared like miniatures on a grand canvas. Sunlight reflected off windows and rooftops, transforming urban spaces into glistening jewels amidst the natural tapestry.
On the distant horizon, the curvature of the Earth became more pronounced, a reminder of the planet's spherical nature. The feeling of flight brought forth a unique blend of freedom and weightlessness, and to add to the experience, Adam allowed the winds to pass at a greater speed in the domain.
The wind rushed past, carrying with it a sense of liberation that could only be experienced from high above.
Yet amid this spectacle, a sense of humility prevailed. The sky at noon, seen from the perspective of flight, invoked a profound understanding of humanity's place within the vast cosmos. It served as a testament to the grandeur of the world, an intricate part of an even more intricate universe that stretched far beyond the reaches of that boundless sky.
Natasha was moved beyond words.
In fact, she could even feel tears streaming down her face.
Standing so high in the sky, looking down at the world, she realized how everything was in fact so small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
All her worries seemed to melt under the light of the sun.
Her fears seemed laughable in the face of the vast cosmos.
"Hahaha…"
A laugh escaped her lips. Good-natured, free, and filled with happiness.
"Wooo!"
She screamed her lungs out and Adam amused her by doing various figures in the sky.
It was fun and enjoyable.
There was no question about her future, no need to worry about anything else.
Just breathe in and appreciate the moment present.
"Adam…"
"Yes."
"Thank you."
"I am glad I could be of help."
He grinned as an idea went through his head, "Do you wanna try something?"
He muttered in her ears and Natasha's eyes widened,
"Do you trust me?"
She did not hesitate.
"Then…"
He slowly let her go and Natasha could feel her heartbeat accelerate. But not out of fear, but rather anticipation. As he let her go, Natasha took a few careful steps in the sky and looked at Adam with surprise and wonder.
"How is this possible?"
To this, he smiled and placed a finger on his lips.
"A magician never reveals his secret."
One of the surest ways to the heart of a woman was to make her dream. To make her see a world she could have never hoped to even witness.
At this moment, Natasha felt like she could own the entire world.
Her steps were hesitant at first, always looking at Adam, wondering if she would fall or not but soon her trust in him and her bubbling excitement managed to chase away all modicum of fear she might have.
If she fell, so be it. She was sure that he would catch her back no matter what.
So she walked, ran and danced.
A feeling of freedom and exhilaration like none other, making her feel even a little faint.
In the end, she laughed out loud once again. Her laugh, like a gentle bell tickling the ears,
"Adam. You are truly a master at seducing women."
How many men could literally offer the sky to their women?.
"I live to serve."
He gave a theatrical bow, which made her laugh even more.
Natasha was starting to realize once again how much Adam had changed from what he remembered and she had to admit that while those changes were sometimes strange, she liked some of them.
In the end, she opened her arms wide, as if she wished she could embrace the world.
She closed her eyes and enjoyed the light of the sun on her face and finally, when she opened her eyes, her mind was made.
"Adam…If the two of us are to become mates, I believe trust is the most important thing that must never be broken between us."
She placed her hands behind her and continued to walk all around. She was surprised by how her robe was not simply revealing everything underneath, but she chalked it to Adam using his power.
"I believe you have many, many secrets. So many in fact that mine must be rather uninteresting in comparison."
Adam's growth was too fast. It didn't matter whether he was really an apostle or not, one month was simply too damn fast.
In one month, Adam went from a normal human to someone who could fly hundreds of meters above in the sky and who was recognized as a gold hunter.
This kind of growth speed made no sense. Even for the supernatural race, it was beyond ridiculous unless it was a power bestowed to him like the power of an Alpha.
"So let me tell you my own truth, first."
She looked at him and smiled brightly —-
"On the night of the 9th chances are — That I will die."
—Before throwing a huge bomb.
(AN: Well, pretty sure everyone saw this coming. Anyway, I tried to make it as magical and pulling as possible. Hope you liked the chapter.)
