Chapter 18: Chapter 018 Threat = Death
Ryukyu nodded in agreement with her assistant's words. "It's like society; full of uncertainties. The person who beats you is often someone you wouldn't expect."
"Endeavor is probably feeling pretty upset right now," the assistant said, covering his mouth as he started to chuckle.
Ryukyu didn't answer this question. She simply said, "Alright, the match is over. Let's head back now."
"Mm-hmm!"
In the emptying gymnasium, a man with a hat watched Ezaki Kitazawa's back. Slowly, a smile appeared on his face. Then, he stood up and followed the other spectators out of the gym.
Ezaki Kitazawa's parents didn't return home, as their office still had things to take care of.
Back at home, Ezaki Kitazawa opened his status screen. After scanning it, he fell into deep thought.
Host: Ezaki Kitazawa
Quirk: Netherworld Flame (230/1000)
Vines (270/500)
Generation Points: Chapter 100 (Met the requirements to generate Quirks)
Inventory: None.
"Looks like the experience for my Quirks has increased quite a bit. Hmm, the experience for Vines is growing faster than Netherworld Flame. Must be due to the levels," Ezaki Kitazawa muttered to himself.
Yes, the experience for basic Quirks grows faster than that for higher-level ones.
"During this break before school starts, I need to set up a training plan for myself. Quirks are important, but improving my physical skills is also crucial."
As soon as he finished speaking, there was a 'ding-dong' sound from the door.
Ezaki Kitazawa paused. His parents never rang the doorbell unless they had forgotten their keys.
"Did they forget their keys?"
After hesitating for a few seconds, Ezaki Kitazawa didn't think too much about it and went to open the door.
But standing there was a man he didn't recognize.
"Who are you looking for?" Ezaki Kitazawa asked.
The stranger smiled. "Little brother, I'm here to find you."
"Find me?" Ezaki Kitazawa became wary and asked, "But I don't know you. What do you want with me?"
The stranger smiled again. "It's enough that I know you. Your name is Ezaki Kitazawa, right? I saw you during today's U.A. entrance test. You're quite the genius."
"Is that so?" Ezaki Kitazawa examined the man seriously. "So what? What do you want with me?"
"Do you want to do something meaningful?" the stranger asked.
"Meaningful? What do you mean by that?"
"Let's talk inside. It's not really suitable to discuss this out here," the stranger said with a smile.
Ezaki Kitazawa paused for a few seconds, then chuckled lightly. "From the looks of you, you don't want me to do anything bad, do you?"
The stranger smiled, then became serious. "What do you think of professional heroes?"
"I don't have an opinion."
The unexpected answer caught the stranger off guard. He paused, then continued.
"Ahem! Don't you think professional heroes in today's society are corrupt? So many heroes, wearing titles they don't deserve, making money left and right."
"I can see you're someone who's capable of doing great things. Let me be honest: right now, we really need talented individuals to help us build a real hero society."
"If we succeed, you'll be the core member of our team. You'll gain a huge fortune, and you'll be able to get whatever you want."
The stranger immediately started trying to brainwash Ezaki Kitazawa. It was clear they wanted to recruit him into their team.
Ezaki Kitazawa's expression turned cold, and he grinned, "Do you had too much to eat?"
The stranger paused, "What do you mean?"
"Professional heroes are just using titles they don't deserve to make money. What does that have to do with me? They're not taking my money. Besides, I'm not a saint. My ideals aren't as grand as yours. My goal is simple—just leave me alone and stop bothering me," Ezaki Kitazawa said calmly.
The stranger's face stiffened. He never expected that the kid in front of him could be even darker inside than himself.
"If you were just an ordinary person, I would leave now. But you're walking a path that makes you our enemy. Kid, I really don't want to destroy you, but you should think carefully," the stranger's attitude started to shift.
"So, what is this? Are you threatening me?" Ezaki Kitazawa's eyes slowly began to show a murderous intent.
"Life and death are your own choice, little brother."
Ezaki Kitazawa was silent for a moment before saying, "This place isn't suitable. Let's go somewhere more private. I want to hear your plan."
"Don't try anything tricky with me. Even if you survive today, what about after?" the stranger warned.
Ezaki Kitazawa smiled and ignored him.
A short while later, they arrived at an abandoned factory.
The stranger immediately said, "Let me explain our plan. I'm sure you'll be interested. Our first step is to kill All Might, the symbol of peace. Once the symbol of peace falls..."
"Stop, stop, stop..." Ezaki Kitazawa directly interrupted him and smiled, "Do you know what happens to people who threaten me?"
