MHA: Living as Mineta is hard

Chapter 6: Bloom

A few days after he had made up his mind to become a hero, he had been inseparable from Ibara.

Ibara also stayed with him since she must admit it was fun.

However, this wasn't surprising since he had been working hard to become Ibara's second home.

What is a second home?

It meant someone who could accept everything and talk about her problem when she encountered difficulties besides her parents.

Ibara had made him into her second home when he often comforted her in the past few days.

He worked really hard on his eloquence since he knew his face was so-so, and his height was so short.

If he wanted to have a girlfriend, he had to make an extra effort than those people who were born with wealthy parents or handsome faces.

The two had been studying together to prepare to enter the "U.A. High School."

Based on their research, there were two types of entrance exams to enter the "U.A. High School."

One was a written exam, similar to those normal tests they often encountered in school.

Ibara must admit that Mineta was smart, and it was easy to understand the knowledge that he taught.

"Mineta-san, how about this?"

"Oh, this one is easy."

The two stayed in the library together, learning all the materials needed for the written exam.

Still, the written exam was easy for him.

The problem was the practical exam.

While the details weren't known, the "U.A. High School" had always been secretive about this "practical exam," he knew it was all about how well one used their "Quirk" was.

In other words, it was their mastery over their "Quirk."

After all, to be a hero, one had to become strong.

Even if they couldn't become the strongest, they should be able to fight or self-defense.

Ibara's "Quirk" was nice, and it was easy to use. It was also powerful since her vines-like hair could easily destroy a rock, concrete, and even a large tree. It could have been used as a weapon and caught people.

In other words, it was versatile.

The only weakness she had was probably fire and a sharp weapon.

Oh, it also needed extra care since it required water and sun to grow.

As for her training, he felt she only needed to train on her control. If she could control every strand of her hair individually, he believed she could become stronger. On the other hand, he also wondered whether muscle training would be able to make her hair stronger. After all, a "Quirk" was part of the body.

If a muscle can grow when trained, then shouldn't her vine-like hair do the same?

If each strand of her hair was able to lift 300 kg of weight, wouldn't she be invincible?

Hearing his words, Ibara was speechless since it was definitely impossible for her to lift 300 kg of weight with a strand of her hair. However, his idea to train the strength of her hair like a muscle was something worth trying.

On the other hand, his "Quirk" was hard to say as a strong ability.

Still, there were many good things about his ability. The first thing was that as long as one was hit by his ball, it would stick against them instantly. The stickiness of his ball also wouldn't be affected by water, and it was greater than any glue in this world.

While it was good, it also had several weaknesses.

The first weakness of this ability was that it needed to be thrown, so if someone was fast enough or had a good reflex, they might be able to dodge him.

The second was that the stickiness of his ball was influenced by his health. If his health was bad, the stickiness of the ball would be weak.

The third weakness was that the ball couldn't be pulled out from his head infinitely. If he took too many balls, his head would bleed.

As for the last weakness, the ball might be affected by an extreme temperature such as extreme cold or extremely hot.

While he was thinking about his "Quirk," a voice interrupted him.

"What do you plan to do with your "Quirk"?" Ibara asked curiously. He had told her what she should do with her "Quirk," but she didn't know what kind of training he would do with his "Quirk."

"There is nothing but accuracy, nimbleness, and physical ability training."

His means of attack was only throwing his ball-like ability, so he had to increase his accuracy.

As for the nimbleness, it was the speed at which he pulled his ball. The faster he pulled his ball, the better it was. Somehow, he felt like a cowboy trained to draw their gun faster.

The last one was physical ability, which was the most important thing.

After all, a "Quirk" was part of the body.

If one's physical body was stronger, their "Quirk" would also naturally get stronger.

Still, this wasn't a problem since he found out an amazing fact about the system.

While he only got 1,000 points, and he hadn't used it yet since he felt reluctant to use it, he was still able to use the function of the system.

The function he found out was how his physical ability wouldn't deteriorate as long as he trained. The progress of the improvement of his physical ability was also clearly shown on the system, which made it fun to work out.

If he continued, he believed his height would increase to 119 cm or 120 cm as long as he kept training naturally.

Of course, he also needed to eat his protein and milk well.

As for 170 cm, the standard harem protagonist height, he felt it was impossible unless he increased his height with a system.

"Are we going to train together on the weekend?" Ibara asked naturally since she felt their improvement was better when they trained together, so if possible, she wanted to meet him during the weekend.

"I don't mind, but don't you have anything to do?" Mineta asked.

"No, I don't have anything to do." Ibara shook her head.

"Then, what did you usually do on your weekend?"

"What did I do on the weekend?" Ibara thought for a moment and said, "Study, training, and take care of my plants."

"Is that all? Are you not going to church on Sunday?" Mineta recalled from their previous conversation that Ibara was a highly religious person.

"No."

"No?"

"Yes." Ibara nodded. "As long as I think of the Lord in my heart, everything will be alright."

'Really?'

Mineta wasn't sure, but he wasn't a religious person, and he didn't bother to confirm whether her words were right or wrong either. "So, are you free this weekend?"

"This weekend?" Ibara asked curiously.

"Yeah." Mineta nodded. "I think that a break is necessary. How about we go out on the weekend?"

Ibara was slightly stunned, and her face was somewhat reddened.

'Is this a date?'

However, Mineta told her that it was a break, and when she saw his pure and docile expression, she also didn't doubt that he had asked her to take a break, which made her warm and smile subconsciously. "I don't mind, but where do we plan to go?"

"How about we go to Enoshima? I have heard they have a good flower garden there, and we can also visit the aquarium if you want."

Mineta copied the date plan of the protagonist next door.

"That's lovely~!" Ibara clapped her hands, showing a bright smile and excitement.

"Then, on the weekend, let's go there." Mineta smiled since he was happy he was successful.

"Yes, Mineta-san."

Ibara nodded, and if she looked closer, she must admit Mineta was kind of cute.

Still, what surprised her the most was that she knew that it hadn't been so long since they met each other, but even so, she felt her world was more colorful, and her day was like a flower blooming at its peak.

It was wonderful.
