Chapter 11: It Just Keeps on Getting Worse!

"I want to request reinforcements at..." Akane began, but she suddenly froze and went pale.

It's the emotional attack. Jugram quickly realized and turned toward Porky, who was now approaching at a dead sprint. Seeing the approaching danger, Akane fumbled at her waist with trembling fingers as her stomach started making uncomfortable noises. As the Pig approached her swaying got worse.

"YUTO," Jugram called out, seeing that the Officer wouldn't have her gun out before it was too late.

Like a Stand from Jojo's, Yuto rushed forward in a blur. The Porky's eyes widened in shock as he was met with a blow that tossed him back toward the hospital and through the glass sliding doors. The glass exploded, and screams sounded from within the hospital waiting room.

Jugram quickly turned to Akane, expecting her to recover from the emotional attack, but she looked worse. While she had managed to get her gun out, her eyes streamed tears, and she leaned heavily against the door of her car. That made him realize something. The emotional manipulation quirk doesn't belong to the Pig. As he processed that thought, every cell in his body screamed a warning of a new threat.

Jugram ducked and rolled without thinking, narrowly avoiding a blow from a rusty crowbar. After rolling to a stop, he whirled to look at the new attacker. Instead of some stereotypical bad guy dressed in all black, he saw a middle-aged man with glasses and suspenders. He seemed completely normal, which was oddly offputting.

The man turned from Jugram and lunged toward Akane, raising the crowbar and smashing it across her face in a vicious blow.

Blood sprayed from her shattered nose as she fell back against the car, raising her gun. However, the man targeted her arm next, bringing the crowbar down on her forearm. The hit was accompanied by a loud CRACK, like the breaking of a branch, and the gun fell from loose fingers, clattering on the ground.

All the while, the radio continued to blare with requests for Akane to report her situation before there was a storm of cursing on the other end, and the transmission ended.

Before the man could even turn back toward them or try to finish Akane, Yuto was on him. The boy was a small cannonball that smashed into the man and drove him into the car. The whole vehicle shook as the door buckled from the attack.

When Yuto stepped back, the man was embedded in the door of the car, blood trickling from his mouth and nose. It looked like he might be dead, but that proved to be the least of their worries as a feral roar sounded from the hospital entrance. Yuto and Jugram turned in time to see the form of Officer Pig emerge from the shattered opening to the hospital, except...

"Isn't he a bit too big?" Yuto asked cautiously.

"Can our luck be any worse?" Jugram replied, looking at the now hulking beast that strode toward them.

Whereas Officer Pig had looked short and potbellied before, he was now a monstrous form that stood nearly 3 meters (~10 feet) tall. Two sharp tusks burst from his lower jaw, and short, dense, bristled hair sprouted all over his body. His potbelly had dissolved into what looked to be a 12-pack of pure muscle while his arms and legs ballooned to the size of tree trunks.

"I'm starting to think he is a boar instead of a pig," Yuto said, stepping back.

"Wow, what a wild guess," Jugram said sarcastically, but his mind was racing.

Threat Detection now screamed inside his body louder than before. It was like an air raid siren that only got louder as Officer Pig approached, his large feet leaving imprints on the pavement as he moved. Casually, he reached out and lifted a car from the ground and clearly began to line up his throw at the two boys and the heavily wounded Officer.

"Things didn't need to go this way, Boys." A deep voice boomed from the giant boar. "I didn't care about either of you no-name orphans before, but now I do care. I care very much."

A deep laugh boomed from his figure as Yuto and Jugram glanced at each other, then over to Akane. Seeing that she wouldn't be helpful, Jugram bent over and picked up her gun, pointing it toward Officer Pig and pulling the trigger without hesitation. He didn't wait to see the effect. He just kept pulling the trigger until no more bullets came out.

"AHHH," Officer Pig roared, blood dripping from a half dozen holes in his chest.

Yet, despite his pain, the wounds weren't deep enough to inflict serious harm. The hulking figure did drop the car, though, seeming to devolve into a feral rage due to the pain.

Seeing that the bullets were effective, Jugram turned to Yuto and made a request.

"Get me a sharp piece of metal from the car," he said.

To his credit, Yuto didn't question the request. The boy simply leaned over and ripped off a piece of the already damaged door with his bare fingers. The resulting shard was about the size of a kitchen knife and plenty sharp for what it needed to do.

Despite the awakening Blood Manipulation had undergone, he still needed a wound from which to draw blood out of his own body. While he could have used Akane's blood, it was always risky to use other's blood since he could properly how much to draw from them without doing significant harm.

With grit teeth, Jugram took the metal and drove it into his wrist. He nearly cried out as the metal punched through his wrist. He felt it sever the ulnar artery, instinctually cringing, but he reminded himself that the damage didn't matter too much. As long as he had Blood Manipulation, he would never bleed out since he could guide his blood flow independently.

Yuto looked like he wanted to say something, but Porky chose that moment to charge finally. The large form of his body ripped through the parking lot, batting cars away like a child throwing their dolls away and ripping up vast patches of pavement.

Yuto, in turn, ripped an undamaged door off the car and threw it like a frisbee at the approaching man. Expect this frisbee was a 20 kg car door and flew at the speed of an MLB fastball. The door smashed into Officer Pig's head, but the damage was minor.

Meanwhile, Jugram forced as much blood as he could handle out of his veins through his wrist and created a spinning circular saw of blood in the air before him, compressing the blade and increasing the rotation as much as possible. He saw how the big man hadn't even attempted to dodge Yuto's attack and realized he would need to end this all in one shot.

Yuto stepped forward to block for Jugram, but both knew that it was a token gesture at best. Yuto had incredible strength thanks to his quirk, but it had limits. First, he could generate only so much strength while still a child. Secondly, against a quirk that seemed to be a mix of muscle enhancement, minor gigantification, and beastification, he would easily be outdone in a matchup of pure strength.

Jugram no longer had time to think as the man was nearly on top of them, his tusked mouth open in a triumphant scream as he swiped a hand to crush all of them at once. However, Jugram had been waiting for precisely this moment. He could have taken the shot at further away, but that would have decreased his chances of hitting something vital.

Despite the power Blood Manipulation's awakening offered him, he still hadn't had any time to practice or experiment much. He was working 80% off of instinct and 20% off raw willpower. So, he grit his teeth harder and forced the blood saw to condense further and spin faster.

Yuto, surprising both Jugram and Officer Pig, rushed forward and threw a right hook right into the large man's groin. There was a moment of pause, where Officer Pig's face snapped to Yuto, even more rage blooming in his eyes.

Except, before he could crush Yuto, Jugram acted. That brief pause had given him enough time to aim. As the man turned his head down toward Yuto, Jugram aimed for the neck and fired. There was a scream of parting air as the saw whirled through the air in a red blur.

Unfortunately, the transformation seemed to give Officer Pig some sort of animal's sixth sense, so he dodged. Luckily, he chose the wrong direction to dodge, allowing the spinning blade to rip through the side of his neck, severing the carotid artery.

It was immediately like a firehose had been turned on. A crimson spray blasted from Officer Pig's neck, dousing the surrounding area. It only took a dozen or so seconds for him to fall to the ground and a few more seconds for him to reach the 'point of no return'. It wouldn't have mattered if Cathleen Bate herself appeared with New Order, ready to try and save the man. He was dead.

"Why does this always happen to us?" Yuto asked numbly, looking at the corpse before sitting down heavily alongside Jugram.
