chapter 45
Chapter 45: You Have No Tomorrow
“Why do I feel like I’ve been backstabbed?” Zhishi muttered to herself as she walked inside White City.
For some reason, she had the illusion that her Master was being stolen.
“What am I thinking?” Zhishi tugged at the ornament her Master had given her, her heart instantly filled with happiness.
How could her Master possibly be stolen?
Suddenly, Zhishi stopped these thoughts and looked towards a mansion on the side.
“This is the place.” She murmured, walking straight into the mansion.
Although there was no one guarding the entrance of the mansion, the door was tightly closed, clearly showing a posture of refusing visitors.
Moreover, Zhishi noticed that there was an array set up in this mansion, prohibiting flight above and with high door defenses.
Unfortunately, this couldn’t stop Zhishi from entering. This array was rather clumsy to her.
Zhishi walked to the front of the door and kicked it directly.
The next second, the red-painted door immediately shattered into countless pieces, flying everywhere.
But these fragments seemed to fear Zhishi, not a single piece touched her body.
Zhishi leisurely walked through the rising dust, entering the mansion.
Ordinary citizens passing by outside the mansion, seeing Zhishi’s violent actions, were all scared and hid.
Some even ran to find the government office.
But Zhishi didn’t care about any of this. Even if White City threw a whole cart of constables at her, she would be fearless.
“Such a foul stench.”
When she was outside the mansion, she already sensed an aura she despised inside.
And now, this detestable aura was even clearer.
She had felt this aura not long ago from someone, that person was Wan Ruicai from the Qingshan Sect.
With an expressionless face, she glanced around and noticed a few cultivators attacking her as soon as she barged in.
Seeing these cultivators, Zhishi didn’t even think of using her Teng Snake technique. She directly grabbed their weapons with her bare hands and broke them forcefully.
After breaking their weapons, she knocked down all the cultivators with a punch and a palm strike each.
“One should know their limits,” Zhishi said indifferently, glancing at these guys.
Each cultivator who attacked Zhishi was left with only one breath. If someone came to finish them off, they would die completely.
And as her master had said, if one doesn’t finish off their enemies, they will die.
So Zhishi stomped heavily on the floor, finishing off all of them with one final blow.
She glanced at these cultivators and then lifted the cloth that was covering her body with her hand.
“As expected, there’s a problem here.”
Seeing the blood clots on the cultivators’ bodies, congealed like minerals, Zhishi shook her head helplessly.
As her master had said, this incident was caused by a large number of people consuming Blood Pills.
“Always causing trouble for others,” Zhishi frowned, her tone filled with displeasure.
With a frosty expression, she slightly regretted killing those cultivators too cleanly. She should have asked for information before finishing them off.
“So… where is the root of the problem hidden?”
Zhishi’s killing intent was well concealed, not letting Wan Ruicai in the underground secret room of the mansion notice.
Moreover, because Zhishi killed those cultivators in a few seconds, he still hadn’t realized Zhishi’s arrival.
At this moment, he was still entangled with a person wearing a red mask in front of him.
“What the hell is going on! Is there a problem with your Blood Pills?” Wan Ruicai grabbed the red mask’s collar and said angrily.
At first, he also thought it was the Tianyan Sect that cursed him, but later he understood that the Tianyan Sect had no reason to curse him.
The most likely cause of his condition could only be those Blood Pills.
“Young Master Wan, the later Blood Pills were refined by yourselves,” the red mask said faintly. “No matter how you think about it, it has nothing to do with us, right?”
“The formula! There must be a problem with the formula you gave us!” Wan Ruicai said angrily.
The red mask slapped Wan Ruicai’s hand away. “Our formula has no problems at all. Countless people have used it without any issues.”
“Young Master Wan, have you ever thought that the problem might be with your materials?” He faced the angry Wan Ruicai without any tension.
“Countless people have used it without any issues? Do you dare to look at their condition and then say that to me again?” Wan Ruicai pointed to a half-open door, behind which were countless bizarre corpses.
Many disciples of the Qingshan Sect turned into corpses that seemed to have been drained of their life force by something the day after the anomaly appeared.
In his terror, he hid these corpses in the underground of his residence to avoid being noticed.
Later, Wan Ruicai barely managed to seal the mouths of others, preventing the matter from being exposed.
But then, something even more terrifying happened.
The piled-up corpses began to merge, transforming into a dark, withered, lifeless “corpse tree.”
“We don’t know about that.” The Red Mask spread his hands, showing no intention of taking responsibility.
“Then you can die here!” Wan Ruicai lowered his voice, grabbing the Red Mask’s neck with one hand.
As his body mutated, he discovered that he had gained the ability to make others decay like himself.
In just one or two seconds, the Red Mask began to undergo a mutation, turning into something resembling deep red ore.
“Are you enraged?” Despite his body starting to mutate, the Red Mask remained calm. “But we’ve already done what we needed to do.”
“Young Master Wan, you can continue to play by yourself.” The Red Mask said, “We are still very busy.”
With that, the Red Mask tilted his head and died in front of Wan Ruicai.
“What?” Wan Ruicai knew he hadn’t killed the Red Mask just now; the guy had suddenly died on his own.
“Ah… Waaah…” A terrifying scream sounded near his neck.
Wan Ruicai covered the cloth on his neck, gritting his teeth, “Shut up!”
He threw the Red Mask’s corpse together with the other corpses, no longer caring whether the tree would continue to grow.
After all, his own life was now in jeopardy.
“It’s all because of these Red Mask guys!”
“It’s all because of the Tianyan Sect!”
“After the competition ends tomorrow! I’ll kill you! Youlan!!!!”
Wan Ruicai fiercely threw a candlestick to the ground.
“Boom!!!!!!” Without warning, the ceiling above his head suddenly shattered.
A large amount of bricks and stones fell, causing Wan Ruicai to instinctively take several steps back.
“You might not have to wait until tomorrow.” A clear and pleasant voice sounded.
Like a blazing fire in the snow, Zhishi stood expressionlessly in front of Wan Ruicai.
Zhishi had thought for a long time and found that the fastest way to reach this underground chamber was to smash through the ground.
It seemed to have worked well.
