Marvel : Super Soldier at the Start

Chapter 9: Talk

Black Widow!

Today, Natasha was wearing a white and light blue faux two-piece dress with a slanted hem covered by knee-length white gauze.

Her round, straight legs were faintly visible.

Compared to their last meeting at the bar, her outfit today was much more innocent and playful.

However, in a casino environment where most women wore tank tops and shorts, her attire was even more alluring.

You could tell how alluring it was by looking at Tony Stark next to him. The guy's eyes went wide when he saw Black Widow.

"Hello, although I am sure you know who I am, I still want to introduce myself. I'm Tony Stark."

"Of course, who doesn't know Tony Stark in this country? I'm Natasha, Natasha Romanoff."

Black Widow didn't hide her real name. Perhaps she felt it wasn't necessary or her information was so top secret that she wasn't worried about being traced.

She nodded politely at Tony and then turned to Blake.

"I'm sorry for leaving early last time at the bar. Today, I'm here to make it up to you. I'll gamble with you."

"Sure!"

Blake unhesitatingly offered his arm to Black Widow.

Clatter!

The roulette wheel started spinning.

The little ball rolled around several times before gradually stopping on number 2.

Seeing such a rare beauty immediately go to Blake's side, Tony, who initially wanted to make a few snide remarks, instead exclaimed in surprise upon seeing the ball land on number 2.

"YES!"

Tony didn't care about the money, but hitting a single number in American roulette, which has 38 numbers, was indeed a thrilling experience.

Seeing the beauty was clearly interested in Blake, Tony could only ask Happy without much enthusiasm, "How many chips did I give him just now? It seemed like 180,000, right? This win is 6.3 million. Damn it, Blake, you should thank this beautiful lady. She deserves a share."

"The principal was mine. We'll split the winnings. Give this lady your share, Happy. Take half the chips and follow me."

This beauty was here for Blake. No matter how much Tony liked her, he couldn't cling to her.

He chose to go somewhere else to enjoy himself but leaned over to whisper in Blake's ear before leaving.

"Tell me the name of the bar you frequent when I get back from Afghanistan."

"Tony! Be careful!" Blake couldn't hold back and warned Tony.

However, it seemed Tony didn't take it to heart.

After Tony left, Blake turned to look at Black Widow beside him.

"Don't tell me this is a coincidence. I don't believe it, Miss Romanoff!"

"Okay, I admit I came specifically to find you. But let's talk later. For now, keep me company and have some fun. These chips are partly mine, as Stark said."

Black Widow was acting like a playful little girl, pulling Blake around the casino and placing random bets at different tables.

Surprisingly, whether due to Black Widow's luck or their combined fortune, they managed to turn their chips into 4 million dollars.

When it was time to cash out, Black Widow declined any of the money, saying it was useless to her.

Blake didn't mind and deposited all the winnings into his account.

Just as they were leaving, they saw Tony getting into his car with a female reporter.

Tony even winked at Blake before driving off.

"It seems you two get along well. From what I know, being friends with Tony Stark isn't easy."

They walked to the hotel entrance, with Black Widow starting the conversation.

"Is that so? Maybe we just click. But I think getting a top-notch agent to lean on my arm is even harder."

"How did you figure it out?"

Black Widow wasn't surprised, just tilted her head and smiled.

"Is it hard to guess? Showing up at the bar's back door late at night and taking on three thugs alone—you're either a killer or an agent. And you didn't kill them."

Although he knew Black Widow was a famous international agent, seeing her like this made Blake want to pat her head.

"Okay, you got it right. I am an agent. Since you know my identity, it's my turn to ask you a question."

They strolled down the street casually, with Black Widow asking nonchalantly.

"Go ahead!"

Blake pouted, indicating he didn't mind.

"How did you obtain the super serum? Was it because of Isaiah?"

Black Widow didn't plan to hide anything and got straight to the point.

Now it was Blake's turn to be incredulous.

How efficient was S.H.I.E.L.D.? Just from seeing him in action once, they traced so much information?

But since Black Widow was straightforward, Blake didn't hold back either.

He recounted everything that had happened to Black Widow.

"In the end, I was just lucky. Are you approaching me for the super serum?"

Blake felt slightly wary. Although the relationship with Isaiah was something the system created, Isaiah genuinely treated him like a child.

He didn't want Isaiah to end up in a lab again because of him.

"We're not interested in the serum. It's too unstable, and we won't bother Isaiah. In fact, we're quietly dealing with some ill-intentioned people around him."

"My target is you!"

As they unknowingly walked into a park, Black Widow let go of Blake and sat on a bench.

"Oh?" Blake sat beside her.

"Me? Are you saying that bullet last time shot straight into your heart?"

"If you mention that again, I'll make your head into a sandwich." Black Widow huffed angrily.

"Alright! Alright! I promise I won't mention stuffing a bullet into your chest again. Now, explain what you mean by 'targeting me,' Agent Romanoff." Blake pretended to raise his hands in surrender.

"Formally introducing myself, Natasha Romanoff, senior agent of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division. We monitor anything and anyone that poses a threat to the world."

"You think I pose a threat to this world?" Blake asked.

"You have strength, speed, and reflexes beyond human limits. With a bit of training, you could become the world's most formidable assassin, capable of taking out key figures, even a country's president. Do you think we'd ignore you?"

"So, what do you plan to do? Lock me up?" Blake looked at Black Widow.

"Of course not. My job is to observe and prepare a danger assessment report. If you don't show signs of being antisocial or inhumane, we won't arrest you." Black Widow didn't mention Nick Fury's Avengers Initiative but took a more roundabout approach.

"I'm extremely attracted to beautiful women. Seeing a beauty like you makes me dizzy. Does that count as a threat?"

Black Widow was smart. Since she was already exposed in front of Blake, she decided to be straightforward about her identity.

Like getting to know a new friend, she chatted casually with Blake.

Every word and gesture Blake made, she would analyze and eventually report to Nick Fury.

They sat in the park chatting until late at night before parting ways.

The next day, before dinner, Blake received a call from Happy.

Tony Stark had gone missing after being attacked by terrorists in Afghanistan.

The plot had finally begun in earnest. Blake had asked the system why he couldn't return after completing two missions.

The system's answer was that he had to wait until Tony Stark transformed into Iron Man and together they defeated Iron Monger before he could return to the real world.

For Blake, whether it was the real world or the Marvel world, he was just a traveler.

However, the real world felt more solid, and with his merged memories, he had many things waiting for him to handle there.

The prerequisite was to earn points to exchange for a large amount of money to solve those issues.
