Chapter 4: Chapter 4
"Hello, can you give me this compound bow?" Vex asked directly. "In return, I can heal your hidden injuries."
Every agent undergoes intense training, and hidden injuries are inevitable. Modern technology struggles to heal them, but for the [Horse Talisman], it's just a touch.
Vex had previously healed Sif and the others, so Barton had seen it firsthand. Without hesitation, he handed over the compound bow.
Vex took it and waited a few seconds.
No reaction.
It seems… as the "weakest Avenger," Barton's temporary weapon was not even worth the system's attention.
Maybe… the multi-functional bow from The Avengers would have some value… perhaps?
Vex raised his hand, channeling the [Horse Talisman]'s magic into Barton's body from a distance.
"Phew…" Barton exhaled in comfort, rolling his neck.
"Thank you," Barton said, speaking for the first time.
"You're welcome. It was just a trade," Vex replied politely, casually handing the compound bow back to Barton.
"But your bow isn't of much use to me, so here, take it back."
Barton: "…"
What was this?
Letting him get it for free?
Or a gesture of goodwill?
"If you have better weapons, feel free to show me," Vex added. "I'm always open to items that can increase my power."
Hmm… it seems he really wasn't impressed.
Grumble, grumble—
Vex rubbed his stomach and looked at Lewis and Jane.
"I wonder if I have the honor of inviting two beautiful ladies to dinner?"
"Ah! Of course!" Louise eagerly replied.
"I know a nice restaurant, let's go!" Jane agreed cheerfully.
An alien!
An alien who can travel through space!
For an astrophysicist, the temptation was beyond enormous!
Erik Selvig was also tempted and was about to speak up…
"Dr. Selvig," Coulson interjected first, "Our Director at S.H.I.E.L.D. has some projects to discuss with you. Please, come with me."
Erik blinked.
Then he nodded, though with a hint of regret as he glanced at Vex.
Vex ignored him.
Ha!
Weren't you the one who just suspected I had ulterior motives?
I'll remember that
Erik and Coulson left.
Vex and the two women headed to the restaurant Jane mentioned.
Despite the recent battle, in a place used to chaos, people were already back to their usual routines.
With S.H.I.E.L.D. covering things up, the public thought it was just a gang shootout.
Now that it was over, the restaurant had reopened for business.
As for the food…
It was just ordinary fast food.
But with Jane and Lewis' company, what they ate didn't matter much.
In his previous life, he had experienced countless relationships, and with the halo of saving them, plus his identity as a mysterious alien, he had a great time chatting with the two women.
He would crack jokes from time to time, making them laugh uncontrollably.
But when it came time to pay the bill…
Vex reached into his pocket and suddenly smacked his forehead!
"I forgot, I don't have your planet's currency yet."
"No problem! I got it!" Lewis eagerly offered. "You saved me, so this meal is on me!"
"Ah… I appreciate it," Vex said apologetically. "When I earn some money, I'll treat you to a meal in return."
"Deal!"
As Lewis went to pay, before Vex could say anything, Jane took the initiative—
"You don't have a place to stay yet. Why don't you stay with us?"
"That would be wonderful." Vex smiled charmingly.
That night, after Vex finished showering, Lewis eagerly knocked on his door…
Since she had thrown herself at him, how could Vex refuse?
—-—
Where there is joy, there is also worry.
At the same time…
Nick Fury looked at the mission report Coulson handed over and fell into deep thought.
The existence of aliens…
He had known about it since the 90s when he had encountered them.
But Vex? There was no prior information on him at all.
Combining the meteor that had landed and his extraordinary strength…
It was pretty clear.
The only question left was his motive…
"You're sure he said he came to Earth to 'spread his species'?" Fury asked again.
Coulson nodded confidently.
"The subject seems more interested in the opposite sex. Other than that, he shows some interest in weapons."
"From the transaction with Barton, the subject appears to lean toward lawful good, not inclined to use violence."
"My recommendation is to approach with a friendly attitude."
Fury remained silent.
After a while…
"Pull Natasha from Stark Industries and send her to make contact with the subject."
"If possible… infiltrate and stay close."

The next morning, after a night of battle, Vex was still full of energy.
With the [Horse Charm], fatigue wasn't an issue for him.
But Lewis…
Even in her sleep, her brow was tightly furrowed.
She couldn't withstand it
It was her first time, so being weaker was normal.
Activating the [Horse Charm], Vex smoothed out the furrows in Lewis' brow.
He nodded in satisfaction.
But…
"System, why isn't there any reward?"
"Even though Lewis is an ordinary person, she's still productive, right?"
[This system is not a girls collection system but a family system. Rewards will only be given when you marry an opposite-sex partner legally.]
Ah…
That makes sense!
Feeling refreshed, Vex took a shower and left the room.
After scanning the surroundings, it didn't take him long to spot Barton keeping watch from next door—he wasn't even hiding.
In a flash, Vex appeared in front of Barton.
"What's up?" Barton asked.
"I need some of your planet's currency," Vex said. "In return, I can offer one healing… as long as there's a breath left, even a cripple can fully recover."
Barton had personally experienced Vex's miraculous healing abilities.
