Chapter 17: Machine Man 16
As Specter stealthily ascended to the second floor, he encountered another Triad member patrolling the area. Employing his combat skills, he swiftly disarmed the unsuspecting assailant, kicking the back of their knees to bring them to the ground. With remarkable agility, Specter aimed his gun and fired, ensuring the threat was eliminated.
The distant sounds of the skirmish reached the ears of two gang members. Alarmed, they hurriedly rushed toward the source, discovering their incapacitated friend lying motionless on the floor. Suspicion and concern etched their faces as they surveyed the scene.
As one of them turned around to share his unease with the other, a cold shiver ran down their spines. To their horror, they found themselves face to face with Specter, who had silently closed the distance. The chameleon cloak disengaged, revealing the ominous figure pointing a gun directly at them.
In that heart-stopping moment, Specter's intention was clear. The eerie silence was shattered by the abrupt sound of muffled gunfire of suppressed shots. The two gang members dropped to the floor without a scream or a cry, their faces contorted in a mix of shock and horror.
Specter, hidden beneath the shroud of his Chameleon cloak, stealthily walk his way through. His enhanced senses led him to another Triad member, nonchalantly munching on chips while engrossed in a televised boxing match.
The faint glow of the screen illuminated the room, revealing the gang member's relaxed demeanor.
Triad Member: (cheering) "加油,打倒他!真是拙劣的一招,他自己给自己留下了大漏洞!"
Specter, standing in the shadows, observed the Triad member's animated reactions to the boxing match. With his Kiroshi optics active, English words appeared above the triad member's head. "Come on, knock him out! What a lousy move, he's leaving himself wide open!" Specter slowly approached the unsuspecting triad member and shot him.
Filled with anger after shooting the guy on the couch, Specter accidentally caught the attention of another triad member making his way to the second floor. The member saw the lifeless body on the couch and let out a scream, alerting the others on the third floor.
Skynet apologized to Specter, acknowledging that the area where the triad member that saw the body had been in a blind spot, and there were no cameras to capture the incident. Specter, focused on the mission, nodded in understanding, knowing that perfection in surveillance was challenging even for advanced AI systems.
Specter, fueled by frustration and anger, cursed under his breath as he deactivated his chameleon cloak. In a swift motion, he raised his smart pistol, equipped with an advanced auto-aim and homing system. With precision, he fired. The bullet cut through the air, expertly curving its trajectory to avoid hitting the wall. It sailed straight into the unsuspecting triad gang member's head, killing him. With the threat neutralized, Specter continued his silent ascent to the third floor, determined to take down the criminal organization plaguing Hell's Kitchen.
Specter muttered, "It's too late now. I guess we'll have to do it the old-fashioned way, guns blazing." he quickly moved to the third floor, the element of surprise slipping away, now exposed, muttered about resorting to a more direct and confrontational approach
The sudden scream from the second floor pierced through the tense atmosphere on the third floor of the rundown building. The triad gang members, led by a stern-faced leader, exchanged uneasy glances. Sensing trouble, the leader barked orders at his lackeys to stay alert.
Zhang Wei the Leader: (spoke in Chinese) Stay sharp, something's not right. Wang, go check what's happening on the lower floors.
Wang, a burly member of the Triad, nodded nervously and made his way towards the door. As he slowly opened it, the door was kicked with tremendous force, sending both Wang and the door flying into the room.
Specter, cloaked in darkness, walked in slowly, his presence dominating the room. "You pieces of trash, organ trafficking, really?" His mechanical voice echoed through the space, instilling fear in the Triad members. One of them couldn't help but gulp nervously.
Triad Leader: (gritting his teeth) Who the hell are you?
Specter, with an air of cold authority, continued his advance. "Since you like to prey on the innocent, you're ready to be preyed on yourselves, right?" As tension filled the room, one of the gang members couldn't contain his fear and screamed, "Boss, it's Specter! He's a vigilante here in New York. He has taken down numerous gangs and has disrupted our business multiple times!"
The Triad leader's expression tightened, realizing the gravity of the situation.
Zhang Wei, the Triad leader, screamed in a mix of fear and frustration, "Well, what are you waiting for? Kill him for me!" In response, one of the gang members hastily raised his machine gun and unleashed a barrage of bullets at Specter. The bullets collided with his advanced armor, creating sparks that illuminated the tension in the room.
Specter, unyielding and swift, closed the distance to his assailant. With a fluid motion, he grabbed the muzzle of the machine gun, effortlessly crushing it. Taking control of the situation, Specter then used his own firearm to deliver a point-blank shot to the enemy's head, swiftly neutralizing the threat.
The Leader's anguished scream reverberated in the room, echoing the fallen member's name, "Lee!"
Specter's cold voice cut through the tension, uttering, "One down," as the weight of the loss settled in the room.
One of the triad members couldn't help but mutter, "When did he draw his weapon? I didn't even see it."
In the midst of the growing chaos, two gang members, armed with menacing blades, leaped towards Specter. Their shouts echoed, "If guns don't work, we'll chop you up!" Swift as a shadow, Specter vanished from his original position, leaving the gang members swinging their blades at thin air. In the blink of an eye, Specter reappeared, gracefully maneuvering his gun, and with precise shots, neutralized the two attackers.
The chaos continued to unfold as another gang member couldn't help but exclaim, "How can he move so fast?"
The gang leader, fueled by frustration, screamed, "Just shoot him!" His gang members, snapping out of their stupor, responded obediently, "Yes, boss."
One gang member took aim, only to find Specter had vanished once again. Like a ghost, Specter reappeared beside the bewildered gang member, swiftly disabling him with shots to the knees before delivering a final, lethal blow to the head.
The tension escalated as another Triad member panicked, yelling, "Take this!" He fired wildly as Specter moved in the shadows, dodging bullets like a phantom. Appearing in one place after another.
The gang member, scared and lost, screamed, "Stay away from me!" His shaky hands blindly shot into the darkness. Specter, like a ghost, suddenly appeared, pointing his gun below the Triad's chin. The room went quiet, only broken by the echoes of chaos. In a cold tone, Specter said, "Five down."
Specter faced the Triad leader, his cold, emotionless gaze cutting through the tension in the room. The leader, Zhang Wei, glared back, a mix of defiance and fear in his eyes.
"You're the only one left," Specter uttered, his voice reverberating with an eerie calmness. The room fell silent, the weight of the moment palpable. Zhang Wei, surrounded by the remnants of his once-loyal gang, assessed the situation. With eyes filled with desperation, screamed, "Stay away from me or I'll shoot the hostages!" His voice echoed through the room, carrying a mix of fear and defiance.
Specter vanished and reappeared in front of Zhang Wei. Zhang Wei frightened quickly grab a grenade and pulled its Pin screaming "Lets die together you fucker!" Using his Mechanical arm he quickly grab the grenade quickly throwing it out the entrance. As the explosion ensues Zhang Wei now stunned from fright tried to point his gun at Specter.
Specters T-X arm transformed into a sharp blade, slicing through Zhang Wei's gun. The gang leader, now terrified, screamed in panic. Specter, devoid of any mercy, reached for Zhang Wei's neck, lifting him off the ground. With an eerie calmness, he uttered, "You have failed this City." The tension in the room escalated as Specter's cold, mechanical grip tightened as he snapped Zhang Wei's neck, ending the threat
