Chapter 93: Ch 86: The Pain Of An Older Sister - Feat. Supergiant!
[New York - Avengers Tower ]
The atmosphere in the Avengers Tower was heavy with frustration and a sense of defeat. The team had gathered in the main meeting room, the weight of their failure palpable. Screens around the room replayed the manipulated footage from Sokovia, showing the Avengers and X-Men in a negative light. It was a PR nightmare.
"Fantastic," Tony muttered, pacing back and forth. "They've twisted everything. Those bastards did exactly what they said."
Well, it was the first for Tony that his enemies succeeded in making their words true.
Steve crossed his arms, his expression grim. "We knew it was a risk, Tony. But we had to try. They were hiding something, and now we know it's worse than we imagined."
'Fury' stood by the window, staring out at the city skyline. "We underestimated them. This Eirikyr and Wanda… they're more dangerous than we thought. And now, our hands are tied by the international government bodies. President wants answers for your actions, and without any proof, your words are just baseless accusations."
Bruce, still shaken from the previous day's events, rubbed his temples. "The public's been manipulated. Those people weren't even alive, yet they were made to look like enthusiastic supporters. This is beyond politics; it's dark magic and manipulation."
Natasha just sighed.
"Friday," Tony called out, "what's the status on the footage? Can we counter their narrative?"
In yesterday's skirmish, no one was seriously injured. But there was one casualty. J.A.R.V.I.S. was no more.
Instead of his serene deep voice, a mechanical female voice responded with a tone of concern.
[Boss, all systems have been restored, but the data we need to counter their narrative has been heavily compromised. The virus they used was highly sophisticated and potent, it even infiltrated the main servers. Its algorithms are completely Alien. The data doesn't exist anymore...]
Tony sighed.
The people and media were already pressing them for answers, but all they could do was hide in the Avengers tower.
A couple of days later...
[BREAKING NEWS: WANDA MAXIMOFF DECLARED NEW LEADER OF SOKOVIA]
The headline blazed across the screen, accompanied by footage of Wanda Maximoff addressing a massive crowd.
The scene was surreal: a sea of Sokovians cheering and waving flags as Wanda stood on a podium, her face stern yet composed. The blonde guy who drove them away from Sokovia yesterday, stood behind her with a serious look, acting as a bodyguard.
"We are witnessing a historic moment in Sokovia today," the news anchor reported. "Wanda Maximoff, who led the defense against yesterday's alien invasion, has been declared the new leader of Sokovia."
Natasha grinned, "Tony's so gonna taunt all of us now."
Clint chuckled, drawing a fake mustache on his mouth, he imitated Tony, "I told you guys this would happen. I'm the billionaire- genius-philanthropist-celebrity-Superhero..."
Natasha giggled and even Maria Hill thought it was funny, Clint's imitation was apt for sure.
Just then Tony walked down the stairs, as he saw breaking news, he rolled his eyes, "I told you guys this would happen. Ugh!"
Tony's words made it worse. but in the presence of her boss, Maria Hill maintained a totally emotionless face.
She was appointed just yesterday by Fury's referral, after an interview, of course.
Steve turned to Hill, his expression serious. "Hill, what story did Wanda Maximoff use to justify taking the command of the country in her hand?"
Maria nodded and began explaining. "According to what they have been telling the public, the Sokovian president worked for Hydra."
Maria continued to tell the story given to the public by Erik—
When Natasha made the deeds of Hydra and SHIELD public, Maximoff found out the president was a Hydra member.
The Sokovian president had ordered Sokovia's top Hydra scientists to find a way to summon and control the aliens that had devasted America two years ago. However, when Wanda Maximoff went to confront him for serving Hydra, he activated his incomplete alien summoning device in hopes of escaping.
However, he got killed by the same aliens he summoned himself, and along with him, all his loyal ministers died as well.
Steve listened intently, his brow furrowing as Maria continued. "Wanda states that in the absence of a leader, she'll take command of the nation until it stabilizes."
Natasha leaned back in her chair, arms crossed. "It's a smart move. Let's say she really was the one to summon the aliens and kill the president, an evil plan... but this story of theirs has made her a hero." She smirked at the cunning of her enemies.
Tony, who had been listening, scoffed.
Natasha sighed and stretched her back as she leaned on the chair, "Well, this type of mess isn't rare, take North Korea for example but that's even more messed up, all we can do is hope Wanda doesn't become another Khim Jhony Uwun (A/n: 💀)... Anyway, for now our hands are tied this is the UN's mess to deal with. I suppose we should focus on finding Steve's beloved Hydra bases."
As the team strategized, the news coverage continued to unfold. The anchor provided further analysis of Wanda's speech and the public's reaction, highlighting the polarizing effect her rise to power was having on the international stage.
"With the catastrophic invasion Sokovia has become the center of attention of the whole world and the world leaders are divided on Wanda Maximoff's sudden ascent to power," the beautiful, brunette, American anchor reported.
"While some praise her for taking decisive action in yesterday's invasion, others are concerned about the implications of a single individual holding so much power in a nation. There are other alternatives and yes, they call this a murder of a democracy"

[ SANCTUARY - Domain Of Thanos ]
[ N5X2 1O6311411+2123518 ]
The Sanctuary, a massive fortress adrift in the void. Thanos's mothership was named after this place. Its throne room was, jagged and imposing, surrounded by floating debris and remnants of celestial bodies.
On his floating throne, gazing at the cosmos, Thanos awaited the return of one of his most loyal and formidable children. His eldest child, Supergiant.
She had been on a mission spanning three centuries. Among the black order, she is undoubtedly the most powerful. She possessed powerful psychic abilities, making her a powerful telepath and mind-reader. She even knows eldritch magic.
Supergiant entered the throne room, her presence ethereal amd seductive. The Other, Thanos's spokesman, announced her arrival.
She had not aged a day, her visage as sharp and intimidating as it had been when she departed. Her glowing eyes, fixed upon Thanos as she approached and knelt before him.
"Sire," she intoned, her voice a whisper that seemed to echo in the vast chamber. "You summoned me?"
Thanos inclined his head, "Rise, my daughter.
"Much has changed in your absence," he continued, "The universe has grown more chaotic, and our enemies have become... bolder."
Supergiant nodded, absorbing his words. "I will bring order to the chaos, as I always have."
Thanos's eyes, cold and calculating, met hers. "The Black Order has suffered losses. Your brother, Ebony Maw, has fallen." Although unnoticeable to most, there was a slight hint of anger in his voice.
The words struck Supergiant like a physical blow. Ebony Maw, whom she loved as a little brother, was gone. Her mind, capable of withstanding the most brutal of mental assaults, struggled to process the information.
The elder sister felt a rare pang of grief, a wound that cut deeper than any she had ever known.
Blood...
There shall be rivers of blood!!!
"How?" she asked, her voice barely more than a whisper. Uncontrollable rage boiling inside her heart.
==================
So, supergiant has officially entered the board! The next arc is quite bloody and Gamora will also meet her "Uncle" in this arc, lol.
