Chapter 1-Malevolent Shrine!
Chapter 1
In one of the few remaining laboratories of the Kunlunfang Institute of Dahan, the scientists were in a panic as they saw more and more of their country getting absorbed into the Great Asian Union due to the lack of magicians.
Once a leader in Magical progress, they had thought to leapfrog everyone in the world as they abducted the daughter of the mysterious Yotsuba clan of Japan, to engineer the ultimate weapon.
And this mistake would result in the destruction of their whole institution and then their country subsequently as they brought upon themselves the wrath of the Yotsuba clan, and now with all of them backed into a corner, in this secret lab was their only chance at turning the tide around.
A weapon engineered from the genetics of none other than Maya Yotsuba, the Demon Lord of the East, the strongest magician in the world.
"Push in more psions, I do not care. Push as much as you can. We have no more time," one of the lead scientists shouted as the massive psions, the building blocks of magic, were pushed into a child barely into his teenage years.
"AGHHHH!" the child screamed, as his body was devastated by the massive amount of psions being pushed into it.
"Sir! We have a problem. The psions are damaging the control circuit we implanted in the child...." Before the man could finish his words, a massive explosion shook the entire lab.
BOOOM!
The scientists were thrown back as the sealed room exploded. The boy, chained and bound by machines ever since he had opened his eyes, stood up on his two feet for the first time as soldiers surrounded him from all sides.
"BE careful. Remember, he is our only hope to change our destinies!"
"Be careful of his magic. Do not let him use i..."
Yet the screams and the orders came too late. The boy opened his eyes, gleaning an ominous red as he mouthed the last words everyone would hear.
"Activate Magic:...."
"STOP HIM!"
"....Malevolent Shrine!"
BOOOM!

In Nagano Prefecture lay an area of land that was not in any map available throughout the world, a piece of land unknown to all except a small portion of people shrouded in mystery and dread, one could argue that this was the most secure location in the entire world.
For this was the main residence of one of Japan's numbered families, the one's with the number four in their names. The Yotsuba.
Magic, the ability to make the impossible possible, was no longer a mystery but a reality grounded in calculation and tangibles, with magicians altering the phenomenon of the world using the psions, imposing their will upon the physical aspect of the world and altering it as per their desire.
Yet all were not blessed. Equally, the prowess to wield magic was linked to lineage, and so in Japan, the ten most powerful families wielding this power were known as the Ten Master Clans. They stood at the pinnacle of Japan's magical society, yet even amongst them, the Yotsuba were a cut above all.
The magicians accounted for less than one percent of the total population. They were created in truth through immoral and inhumane research into the human psyche and were inceptionalised as weapons, a role they would play to this day in the world, much to the disdain of the world.
And of those weapons, one of the strongest and most dangerous living weapons lived in this unmarked area of land, regarded as the most powerful magician of her age, the head of the Yotsuba Clan, infamous as the Queen of the Night, Maya Yotsuba.
Yet Maya Yotsuba was hardly a pristine weapon, her life was a true tragedy, for she had been kidnapped and experimented upon by the Dahan, she was left broken, the incident rendering her insane and infertile.
Only her twin sister's usage of her Mental interference Magic would let her keep her sanity, yet even that would come at the cost of removing from her all her experiences, as all her emotions were turned into little more than data.
The magic would spare her, but the guilt would chase Miya Yotsuba to an early grave, as she would leave behind her own two children as her legacy.
The captors would suffer as well, and the Yotsuba would demolish the whole country, sacrificing thirty of their strongest men, yet these three would kill more than four thousand. They would decimate the magical component of the country of Dahan, eventually leading to their demise and gaining the title of the 'Untouchables' for the Yotsuba.
And now the very Maya Yotsuba sat in her room, the dutiful and ever-present butler Hayama beside her as she sifted through a file on a very special individual.
"So, you have found him," he asked, being the only one courageous enough to open his mouth in her presence.
Hayama Tadanori was more than a simple butler. He was the bodyguard of Maya Yotsuba, the clan head, and knew more about the clan than anyone apart from herself, having also served as the previous clan head.
"Indeed, I have," she replied with no emotion as she closed the file and gained a pensive look.
"You were right then. The Dahan succeeded in their attempts at creating an abomination," he said, a hint of emotion leaking into his tone as he remembered the atrocities suffered by the girl infront of her at the hands of those accursed men.
"They did, but they could not control it, and now the question is, could we," she stated as he looked towards her and spoke up.
"My lady, why must we even try to control such a thing? It is an abomination, an affront to you. Let me rid us of this disgrace," he offered his services, and she turned towards him.
"Your anger is misplaced, Hayama. He is not the one who wronged me. I would say that he was wronged because of me, and as much as I may deny it, he is my child," she finished, and that was the secret of it.
"Though I feel nothing like a mother should or would, but he is my blood. Just like Tatsuya and Miyuki," she said with no change in her expression, given that she had been robbed of her emotions. She felt little for the boy and what he had gone through despite sharing blood with him.
"I apologize for overstepping, my lady," the butler bowed his head, but Lady Maya was bothered a little as she picked up the file and raised it towards him.
"And I doubt he would be easy to kill," she said, and the butler took it from her hand and began to read it.
The file contained a picture of a boy, from a simple lifeless child to a full-grown teen of age with the young charges of the Lady Miya. His face is angular and sharp, and his features remind him of Lady Maya's own youth, except for his hair.
They were different. Lady Maya and their kin had straight black hair, yet the boy's hair was white, with a bright luster to them, and yet his hair was not the only thing ominous about the boy.
The boy's prowess, speculated in the reports below, was damning in ways similar to the abilities of Shiba Tatsuya, the Yotsuba's greatest weapon. And Hayama was not prideful enough to admit that if these speculations were true, the boy could very well kill him.
"It seems the Okinawa incident forced the Dahan remnants to become careless. The timing of his escape and the vanishing of the Dahan remnants match," she pointed out as she leaned back in her chair.
"We had thought that they had gotten scared of my little nephew's prowess, that the fear of the Maheshawara had sent them crawling back into their holes, but it seems that we were wrong," she added as he turned the page and saw a blurred picture of a young boy standing at the center of cleared out area, alone with only rubble surrounding him on all sides for miles.
"That was his doing," he confirmed, and she nodded.
"All evidence points to that," she replied as she sipped her tea, and Hayama closed the folder.
"What are your orders, Maya-sama?" he asked as he bowed.
"Hmm, with Tatsuya and Miyuki growing up, our family is set to face tumultuous times in the future. Sometimes, in the future, my nephew could even surpass me, and I believe that he could help us in those times," she said as she turned towards Hayama.
"Would it be wise to trust an outsider with such a matter?" he asked worriedly, and she shrugged.
"Is he truly an outsider I have a hunch that there is more to him than we have found out," she said, and he had little reason to doubt her.
"After all, you did not miss where he lives, right," she asked, and he nodded.
"Of all the places in the world, he lives here in Nagano, right in our own city, as if he knew that we would search for him one day," she began with a smile, and he was taken aback by that hunch.
"So, you would like to meet him," he asked, and after a second or so, she nodded.
"I believe I would. I want to see what he is like," she said before turning towards Hayama.
"Is that strange of me?" she asked with a small tilt of her head, and he shook his head.
"It is not. I will make the appropriate arrangements," he said, and she nodded.
"Good, do make it discreet. I do not want anyone else in the clan to learn of this," she said sharply.
"Of course, my lady," he said with a bow.
After some more discussion, Hayama Tadanori left the solar, leaving the Yotsuba clan head and the most powerful wizard in Japan all alone in her office.
And the black-haired woman sighed as she looked to the side at the massive portrait hanging on the wall, at the sister standing behind her, her other half no longer in this world.
"I wonder what I am supposed to feel about it, Miya?" she whispered as she closed her eyes.
"Perhaps this is what being a mother feels like."

Mahouka was one of my favorite shows, and I only recently learned that it had a second and third season. So, I got back into it. Plus, the idea has been stuck in my mind for some time now, and I become restless when that happens, so here I am.
