Magical Academy: Rise of the Supreme Magic Craftsman

Chapter 23 - Participant

Eric and his group submitted their completed project to their instructor. It included both the magic structure and the finished product.

"You guys have completed it?"

Elaine was surprised upon learning that they had completely resolved the issue. Her beautiful face expressed astonishment as her eyes grew wide.

After all, the students' project only required them to provide a path for future discovery. It would be fine if they could just provide a theory for development.

She looked at the suitcase containing the parts of the armor tech and checked the tablet device containing information about the newly created magic structure and its capabilities.

In the information given, it included the results of improvements on the armor tech they were developing. Not only the operation time was resolved, but its other aspects were enhanced as well.

Elaine could only imagine how much more amazing this new magic structure that their group developed was.

"Yes, all thanks to Wallace. At most, we provided the special materials required to prove his theories. In the end, he was able to complete the design of the magic structure."

It was Mei who first explained what happened.

"That's true... and it seems that he actually hadn't planned to complete the structure at all and just to provide a path for development. But he maybe got engrossed too much."

Eric agreed with Mei as he voiced his opinion. You could hear a hint of amusement as he spoke and gratitude on what Wallace had accomplished for them as well.

"Since this was actually created by Wallace, we've already advised him to get a patent for this new magic structure and he instead told us about his plan for this revolutionary magic structure."

"Correct. When we told him that, he said he would discuss it further with the headmaster about his future plans."

Neo said last as he joined the conversation.

"That's good to hear. This magic structure seems to be much more amazing than what he previously made."

Elaine softly muttered the second part as he further questioned her students.

"What did Wallace or you guys named on this new structure?"

Everyone looked at each other before answering.

"He called it Compact Mananuclear Reactor."

Wallace was carefully considering his thoughts as he planned to gift this bracelet to someone for a trial.

Honestly, Wallace was not sure if his decision to gift this bracelet was a correct one. Only time would know.

At the very least, once he could confirm it, he would be able to plan ahead for the future in case it was necessary. Also, this bracelet was a weaker version of his necklace right now.

Wallace was soon summoned to the headmaster's office.

"It seems Eric and his group already completed their report."

Wallace said after his instructor Garen told him at the end of his morning class. He had not been discreet about this so everyone in the class was now aware of his meeting with the headmaster.

It was not common to always be in contact with the headmaster or even instructors of higher years. So Gilbert made his conjecture.

"Wallace my friend, are you going to be accelerated now? Will you be joining the 3rd years and graduate with them this academic year?"

His voice was loud as he asked this seriously since he had been aware of Wallace's activities in recent weeks. He was with a group of seniors every afternoon doing a project with them.

"What are you saying? I was just helping them."

You? A second-year? Helping our seniors?

They did not say it loud but his classmates' faces showed what was in their mind.

"Alright, I'll see you later."

Wallace was nearing the headmaster's office as he walked in the hallway. But he was stopped by the most beautiful instructor of the academy who started a conversation with him.

"Congratulations Wallace! It seems that you will be joining as a participant in the coming competition. Keep it up."

Elaine, with a genuine smile on her face, greeted Wallace. It seemed that she was really happy for him.

"Thank you, Instructor. I'll definitely work hard."

With her greeting, it seems that the headmaster will keep his word when he gave this mission to me. A guaranteed slot. Wallace thought as he politely spoke with Elaine.

"Instructor, I would like to give you something..."

Wallace did not wait for her reply before taking out the bracelet in his pocket and gave it to Elaine.

She was used to receiving gifts from her colleagues and even more from her students. But she still received the red bracelet with her left hand and had a questioning look.

She took a glance at it and noticed that it was actually a simple but elegant design. She was attracted to it.

"I noticed that your favorite color was red, so when I had this created, I immediately thought of giving this to you as a 'thank you gift'. Thank you for trusting me that I could help your students."

Wallace created an excuse.

"How did you learn that red was my favorite color?"

It seemed that Elaine had different concerns about what he said. She was more interested in how Wallace knew something that she hadn't told.

"The earrings you mostly wear are red. The car you drive is red. Even your phone and your umbrella have a tinge of red on them. I doubt you'll have another favorite color or I would have noticed it so."

"Thank you, Wallace."

Elaine smiled as she heard him explain.

As Wallace headed to the office, Elaine dialed a number on her mobile. It was her boyfriend.

"Hi. Are you still working?"

"No, I'm free. What's up?" Her boyfriend quickly answered on the other line.

"What's my favorite color?"

"Huh? Why did you ask so suddenly?"

"It's nothing. Just please answer me."

"Alright, It should be yellow color right?"

"..."

"No.. I think it's green. Am I right?"

"..."

"Purple?"

At the headmaster's office.

"Wallace, there's a couple more months before the competition. Just maintain your performance and you'll be able to participate in the competition."

Headmaster Percival said before further explaining.

"Do you know Ross Schien?"

"Yes. He is my classmate."

As he answered. Wallace remembered the rankings when instructor Garen told them to create the 5th gen artifact.

He was first, next was Tracey then Mark. The fourth person was Ross Schien.

"As you know, there is only a limited slot for participants, and Ross will definitely do something to get him accepted as a participant as well. It's a matter of pride."

Wallace was silent for a while before asking.

"Perhaps... is he a descendent of Aeolia Schien?"
