Chapter 25: Martial Arts and Magic Arts
"Thunder Spear" A large spear with a one-meter long shaft while front pointy by thunders pointing at one point. It looks like a blue spear made of thunder blots, combining as one. Johnny was standing fifty meters away from a wall. He had his hand in a position as if he had caught a stick.
He manipulated the thunder energy and created a thunder spear that perfectly fits on his hand. Then, he threw the spear at high speed towards the wall. The wall had some small circular boards hanging on it. These were his targets; he had already blew-up half of them.
Spear is about practicing marksmanship though you don't need to shoot it like an arrow it still needs serious marksmanship practice to hit the opponent perfectly. After all, this is not about slashing a sword at the enemy. You need to know where to hit and with how much force.
He practiced for five days until now. He practiced Chaos Bearing Elephant and increased his strength by 1000 pounds but it was still not enough. So he starts practicing thunder spear. He asked his dad to get him some technique to explain how to use a spear. Though he didn't practice spear techniques with a real spear he still practiced Thunder Spear to the Great Accomplishment.
He also used thunder spear to learn basic spear. He tried moves like a stab, pierce, throw, etc. These were the most basic moves but it is also found so he practiced them to perfection. He also practices Dark Arrow to the Great Accomplishment while practicing spear throwing.
He condenses the powerful spear and throws it with full power.
"Bang" It crashes middle of one of the circular boards. It splits the circular board into five exact pieces. This wasn't about the power but precision. Johnny let out the smile on his throw and sat down. He was full of sweat after practicing so long without any rest.
"Boo! It took five days to practice three arts to reach great accomplishments. It is really hard but I can't give up now. I still for nine days. I should be able to practice a few more moves though they might not be some fancy these moves will surely give me more understanding of thunder." Johnny said to himself while resting, he was already lying on the ground.
Currently, he was talking about Thunder Dragon Sacred Art. This art has much thunder-related art and the first two layers are all about basic thunder moves such as Thunder Palm, Thunder Wisp, Thunder Fist, Thunder Kick, Thunder Dance, Thunder Wings.
Using thunder and manipulating them to form different attacks. These all were profound level art though the level of a person's thunder element also has some effect on it. So he wants to practice more because he felt the difference between magic and martial art.
Magic Art uses mana and mana is simply overpowered from the start. While martial arts uses spiritual energy and spiritual energy needs time to get strong. Simply, you need a long time to get interlinked with martial art while using spiritual energy.
The man forms elements out of nothing while spiritual energy can't do it. So, in magic art, mana can give huge offense and defense. While using martial art, you need to practice more and more so that your veins can hold more amount of spiritual energy.
Spiritual energy can be destructive, maybe even higher than Mana but it can't be used like Mana. Mana can be used to form attacks while spiritual energy empowers the part of the attack. For example, while using Cloud Covering Palm; the more Johnny practices more he can bring out the power. It's like increasing the power of his palm by holding more and more amount of spiritual energy.
This simply can't be achieved overnight and it needs a lot of practice. He needs to get his blood veins to accommodate spiritual energy while using martial art. This is also the reason martial art thinks weapons as their hand. The longer they use one weapon, the more power they can take out while using the same weapon.
Talking about his Red Sun Spear Technique, here people condense so much spiritual energy in the tip of the spear so that it can burn like a sun but this is a long process. So many people take shortcuts by practicing attributed cultivation art which can convert their spiritual energy into most of the common elements.
Such as his Five Elements Dragon Spirit which can convert spiritual energy into anyone element between five elements in a fraction of seconds. Of course, most cultivation art can't do that. They can only change attributes taking a long time.
But even if he converts his spiritual energy into fire energy while using Red Sun Spear Technique. The hotness at the tip of the spear will never reach the temperature on the first try. He at least needs to try more than a hundred and thousands of times to increase the temperature to that point in an instant.
Yes in an instant, obviously he can't keep it hot for a long time, right? He can only increase the temperature for some moments. Also, if this art was spirit art then he can create sun at the tip which will not only bring more destructive power but will also affect the surrounding.
This is the difference between magic art and martial art. Of course, a magic art also needs time to learn and use it but it doesn't need so much practice. All, magic art required is pure and perfect visualization.
"Now let's start with thunder palm" Johnny stands, and lift his palm. He circulates thunder energy from his Mana Space and starts condensing it all over his palm. He was covering his palm with the thunder, and he was also condensing it to be thicker and much more solid.
"Huu" Johnny takes a long breath and shoots his palm forward. A large palm made out of thunder moves forward from Johnny's palm. This thunder palm was fully condensed with the power of blue thick thunder. Its speed was also very fast, but as it moves it began shrinking. Finally, when it reached near the wall its size was the same as Johnny's Palm.
"Boom"
Thunder palm collides against the wall creating a palm shape hole on the wall. Its power decreased a lot while in the air. This is why every battle art is divided into Beginner, Entry, Small Accomplishment, Great Accomplishment, and Perfection even though martial arts are the ones who need a lot of polishing while Magic Art doesn't.
Magic Arts are a little weird because they do need the coordination of blood veins, not to perform an art but to condense more and more Mana for the attack. This is the reason why magic art is divided equally as martial art when it comes to the battle art realm. Magic Art required more amount of Mana so, our body needs to be strong enough to hold it.
If a person practices magic art for a long time, then he can bring out more destructiveness because his body can handle even a large amount of Mana. Whenever Johnny uses shadow steps, he created a soft and smooth layer of the dark element under his foot so that he can slide on the ground.
If he practices shadow steps many times then he can not only create a smoother dark element layer but also balance himself at max speed. Here comes the visualization part because the more he visualizes, the smoother the dark element layer will be. But when it comes to balance, he can't do it alone with visualization.
He needs to practice it himself for a long time so that he can move perfectly even if the dark element layer is very smooth. He can summon dark shadow which is related to visualization but controlling it is a different story because it needs practice and practice to control it even better.
Of course, every martial art has its way to practice and visualize but every battle art does need a lot of training to perform it better. So, Johnny never stops until he practices it hundred times. He practiced it even harder so that he can break his limits.
After another hundred palms, Johnny condensed another powerful thunder palm and shoot with a loud shout "Thunder Palm"
