Lured by the Moon

Chapter 11: Sneaky Little Fox

Lowing his head as the smell of the rich blood wrapped around his senses like a drug. He just wanted one taste—just one little sip. Moisturize his dry lips as the four teeth slowly elongate into white, sharp, tiny fangs, preparing to have a little taste.

At the same time, when he reached towards the weak, fragile neck that seemed easy to snap with one hand, Atlas suddenly just moved as he turned his head toward his way as he curled snuggly against his arm. Sebastian froze, every movement stilling like a statue. From the corner of his eyes, he could detect thick eyelashes that fluttered lightly like butterfly wings.

Glancing down at the sleeping youth, his lips curving into a sinister smile, "I don't know if I should pity you for meeting me, little fool. If you have any indication of knowing who I am, you should run in the other direction."

The room was silent, except for the sound of wind blowing outside of the window, where Sebastian looks even more ominous when the translucent moon lights on his face through the glass into the bedroom. Sebastian closes his eyes as he whispers, "I must be getting hungry; I'll have to get some blood tomorrow."

After awhile of silence, he went into a slumber. The warmth of the figure next to him and the tranquility of the silence were only a calming balm on his restless mind.

His sense of alertness woke him from his nap; it was a warm hand that seems to brush against his sides, as if searching for something.

His mind comes into focus as the lingering hand is tickling his sides, but he was able to be very still and motionless as if he were sleeping.

What is this little brat up to?

"Where's that stupid knife?" Atlas whispers annoyingly, "I need to hurry up before he wakes up."

Too late, little brat. I'm already awake.

Then his fingers very gently went into his pocket, pulling out a small knife, making Sebastian smirk with mischief.

I wonder what the brat's going to do when he realizes I'm awake.

Sebastian's entire face looks like he was taking a nap, peaceful and gentle, but the inside of his mind was a cackling cat waiting for the mouse to fall into its own trap.

Then all of a sudden he felt the same lingering hand putting back the knife into the pocket. He heard an irritated sigh. "Does he not have any phone?"

Okay! That's enough playing around! Sebastian opened his eyes and looked at Atlas, who jumped back like a cat whose tail was stepped on.

Atlas laughs nervously, "Hey, you're awake." Sebastian nods like a smirking gangster who caught a little thief.

"Yeah, all that ruffling and the whispering can wake a person up."

Sebastian tilts his head as he grips the boy's chin firmly, not in a rough way. His heart skipped a beat, making Sebastian grin playfully, although the glint in his eyes couldn't be hidden.

"Smart choice to leave the knife in my pocket, although why do you want my phone?"

His eyes flickers around the room as he stutters, trying to come up with a lame excuse. "W—Well, I was bored."

His eyes lighten up as if he found a good excuse: "Yeah, I was bored. I wanted to watch a movie or play a game on your phone."

What a little liar you are!

A mirth of laughter came out of his mouth, filled with humor and playfulness, but it only makes Atlas even nervous.

Sebastian could see him biting his lips and could imagine downcast ears looping at the back of his head, like a naughty puppy that was caught.

Sebastian grins as he lets go of the chin. He rises from the bed and arches his brow. "Are you going to tell me the truth or not?"

Atlas opens his mouth and closes it again before sighing. He looks down at his lap; he whispers very quietly, but he was able to hear him. "I—I just wanted to know more about you."

"You couldn't ask me directly." Atlas glares at him with angry eyes. "How could I? I had to ask you twice for your name yesterday!"

"It doesn't give you an excuse to go through my stuff." Sebastian sighs with annoyance, but the tone in his words conveys the seriousness.

Looking down at the boy, he suggests, "Alright, I'll answer some of your questions, but you need to answer mine as well. Are you hungry now?"

Atlas nods as he whispers, "Yeah, I'm hungry, but that knife is mine."

Sebastian tilts his head curiously. "What's so special about the knife?"

The boy tightened his lips as if deciding whether to share personal information. He opens his after taking a breath, "It belongs to my mother."

How interesting! What kind of mother was she? Is she the one who hurt him? It couldn't be, or why would he be so reluctant to part with the knife?

Sebastian says, "I'll give the knife back to you once I trust you."

The boy jumps off the bed like an agile cat; he shouts, "That's not fair! How do I know if I can trust you as well?!"

A dangerous gleam flashed across Sebastian's eyes, making Atlas step backward with a gasp.

Sebastian said as calmly as he could, "First of all, never yell at me again. Secondly, I said I'd give it back to you after I trust you. Thirdly, I saved your life, so I would watch your tone if I were you."

Atlas gulps before nodding, "I'm sorry." Sebastian frowns, "Well, we'll have to learn to trust each other over time. Now, go get dressed, so you can get something to eat." "But I don't have any clothes."

Sebastian scans the clothes he slept in. So he walks to the large brown wooden closet, where his clothes are contained.

Opening the door, different pairs of t-shirts and pants were seen. He grabs a black t-shirt that was small enough for Atlas and sweatpants that would make him feel comfortable and at ease.

Putting the clothes into his hands, he gestured for him to follow him out in the hall so he could take the bathroom to change. He turned around and tilted his head toward the bathroom, "Go in."

Atlas didn't go in the bathroom immediately. His eyes turn toward Sebastian as he asks apprehensively, "Will you be here?"

Why is he behaving like a sticky puppy? Sebastian gives a teasing smirk, "Yeah, I'll be downstairs."

Atlas looks at him suspiciously, wondering why he's smirking like a Cheshire cat. He went into the bathroom as the door shut with a loud bang.
