Lucky Once in Yugioh GX

Chapter 59. Sudden Ending

I raised a brow in confusion at the small creature. It immediately reminded me of my very own pal. It was a Duel Spirit, happily following its master. ‘But something that innocent, should know she is part of an evil gang on world domination right? Is this how Dark Magician Girl felt seeing me for the first time?’ I wondered while Camula continued her move. “My Familiar allows me to pay 500 life points to add another Vampire monster from my deck to my hand.” Her deck then ejected a blue card, and she showed it to me quickly before continuing her move even further. “And due to Vampire Bat’s effect, all Zombie monsters I control, gain an additional 200 attack points.”

“Now! Zombie Werewolf! Destroy his Fire Dragon!” The Werewolf howled, and the shockwave he created disrupted my Darkfire Dragon, snuffing it out while I lost some of my life points.

3,600 Rakki ---- 3,200 Camula

I groaned from the ringing in my ears, but Camula continued her onslaught without pause. “Vampire Lady, Suck him dry!” Just as the Vampire Lady started to rush me with an evil glint in her eye, I raised my trap. “I activate my trap, Rainbow Life! By sending one card from my hand to the graveyard, I gain Life points instead of losing them for the turn!” Just as the Vampire Lady reached how to grapple me, she froze, before turning back as my life points sharply rose.

5,350 Rakki ---- 3,200 Camula

Camula frowned while she thought. “I end my turn.” She finally spoke unhappily, causing her Familiar to be sent to the graveyard, as its time was up. “I Draw!” I yelled as I looked at both of my cards in my hand. ‘Oh, this would have been nice to have a turn ago…’ I sighed while looking back and forth between the two cards, and then the almost full field Camula had. ‘Sure hope this works…’ “I place two cards face down, and end my turn!” I yelled a bit irritated still.

Camula chuckled while drawing her next card. She was low on cards too, but that didn’t bother her in the least. She smiled at the card she drew, and opened her field spell slot. “I activate the field spell, Zombieworld! This turns all monsters on the field, and in the grave to Zombie type. And neither is allowed to tribute summon a non-zombie monster.” The dark crimson color of the moonlight showcased the gravestones appearing all around us, and the tree’s slowly rotting under the newly gaseous ground.

The place reeked of ammonia, causing my stomach to unsettle itself. If I had anything to eat for dinner, I would have lost it by now. “Now, I’ll attack you directly with my Vampire Bat!” The Vampire Bats swarmed around me, all while screaming at me violently, decreasing my life points.

4,350 Rakki ---- 3,200 Camula

“And since I dealt damage with a Vampire, I gain-” She was about to continue, but I interrupted her with a large grin. “Hah! I activate my continuous trap! Bad Reaction to Simochi! Any life points you try to gain, hurt you instead!” Camula’s smile faltered immediately as her own life points dropped dramatically.

She yelped in pain, before glaring harshly at me. “What’s wrong? Something you ate?” I asked with a nasty grin. “Insolence! I still have my Zombie Werewolf! Attack him again!” The Werewolf got onto all fours, and charged at me in response. He swung his massive paw at me, claws out, but he paused right before touching me. “I activate my other continuous trap, Lucky Punch! Once per turn, when you attack me, I get to toss three coins in the air, and if all three land on heads, I draw three cards!”

The card laid on its back, and three coins spit out at the same time, flipping multiple times in the air, before falling back on the ground. They all landed on heads. “Yes!” I pumped my fist while I took three cards from the top of my deck, but the celebration didn’t last long. As soon as I was done drawing, the clawed paw hit me in my stomach, knocking the air from my lungs. I coughed in pain as my life points fell once again.

2,450 Rakki ---- 2,200 Camula

Camula smirked at my pain as she ended her turn. I took another breath to calm myself before drawing my next card. “I Draw!” I yelled, finally looking at the four cards in my hand. I had a hard time hiding my massive shit-eating grin from the cards I looked at. I tried to hide it, but decided not to bother. “First!” I yelled, full of confidence. “By using 800 life points, I’ll use premature burial to special summon a monster from my graveyard! So welcome! The monster that I threw in my grave for Rainbow Life! Red Eyes Black Dragon!”

1,650 Rakki ---- 2,200 Camula

Just as I announced that, the ground on the field began to shake and shiver. Cracks formed amongst the numerous tombstones, and those cracks quickly grew larger and larger, as the earth itself split open. “But… Since all Monsters are zombies on the field and in the graveyard, he’s not Red Eyes Black Dragon anymore…” I said while watching the Red-Eyed beast, slowly unearth itself from its tomb. Flesh and scales hung off his body, showcasing the bone that laid underneath. “Rise, Red Eyes, Zombie Dragon!!

Red Eyes let out a massive scream that rumbled the ground beneath its feet, a wail of triumph for being born. “Since Atticus is still indisposed, I assumed he wouldn’t mind I borrowed one of my favorites… Now! Red Eyes-!!” “Stop!!” Camula yelled coolly, making my falter as the trap she laid down in her first turn had now come up. “I activate my set quick-play spell! Mystical Space Typhoon! This negates and destroys your spell! Unless you have some trap for mine?” She asked with a large smirk, almost somehow knowing I had no options to stop her. ‘Unless I had a hand negate.’

I grit my teeth and shook my head, as my Red Eyes faltered, and fell back into the chasm, screeching its return as it fell deeper and deeper. The ground closed up, leaving me with nothing on my field to show for it. I sighed as I continued my move. “I’ll set a monster, and two cards. Then end my turn.” Camula chuckled while she drew her next card, she looked at it and her smile widened. “Because you have caused me enough grief, I shall show you the true power I have! I activate the spell card I gained to bring back my loved ones! The card that shall soon be your demise! And the ticket for your key, and soul! I activate, Illusion Gate!!”

The moment Camula did so, she watched as the boy in front of her froze in shock. “Yes, with this power, I shall take back the night in the name of my people! With this spell, I shall destroy all of your monsters on your field, and summon one from your graveyard. Perhaps that Red-Eyes!” Just as the monster on the field turned over and shattered before she could get a good look at it, she heard the rumbling of the Red-Eyes that enticed her, emerging from the gate.

“I activate my trap!” However everything paused as the boy she was Dueling showcased one of his traps. “Graverobber! I can take a spell or trap from your grave, and then play it like I just activated it from the field! And I choose your Mystical Space Typhoon.” He announced unsteadily for some reason. “No! No!” Camula shouted as she turned behind herself to see the gate close before Red-Eyes emerged. However, something strange happened, a sudden thud, and changing of the hue of light caught her attention.

Camula turned around to see the boy she was Dueling with on one knee, gasping for air like he was having a panic attack. “But… I have to pay... for using it…” He muttered barely audible for anyone else without Vampiric hearing. She heard his life points quickly drop, before finally stopping.
