EPILOGUE
Fight Two
"I love you," Edward choked out. "Please don't do this."
"And why not? You had the intention of killing me all along," Bella replied.
Edward's eyes widened—he hadn't realized that Bella had figured it out.
"Oh, don't look so surprised. It's the only reason a vampire would hang out with a human that isn't his mate or family," Bella continued, squeezing harder.
"Carlisle, help!" Edward pleaded, turning his neck slowly toward Carlisle. The movement was painful.
Carlisle looked him in the eye. "Rest in peace, my son."
Edward's disbelief was evident before his head fell to the ground. Bella proceeded to tear his body apart. Kate gladly moved forward, gathering the body parts and placing them with the rest of the newborns.
Carlisle sighed and looked at his enemies. "What now?" he asked.
"What do you expect?" Sulpicia asked.
Carlisle sighed again. "Where is Esme?"
"You're not allowed to speak her name," Bree said, her voice filled with anger. She was furious after hearing what Carlisle had
done to her mate and his attempt to kill her.
"Who the hell are you?" Carlisle asked.
"I'm Esme's true mate," Bree replied. She couldn't before that Carlisle didn't recognize her, he was the one that turned
her for Godsake. It shows that he's a selfish man he doesn't care about the newborns he created only when we do his bidding.
Carlisle's eyes widened in shock, then turned to anger. "No! Impossible! You're a damn woman! Esme is mine and always will be."
"No, she never will be yours. Never." Bree's eyes turn dark with anger.
"Yes, she will be, once I get rid of you," Carlisle shouted as he charged at Bree, intent on killing her.
Emmett was about to intervene, but Rosalie held him back.
Bree disappeared just as Carlisle reached her, stepping to the side and putting him in a chokehold.
"Let me go, you bitch!" Carlisle screamed. Bree, a newborn, was far too strong for Carlisle to handle. She hissed and bit into
the back of his head. He screamed as she ripped his head off and tore him apart.
Everyone turned their attention to Riley, who stood watching in shock. It hadn't occurred to him to escape.
He could feel his grave being dug—except in this case, his ashes would soon float in the air.
Riley whimpered, "Please, I was only doing what Carlisle told me. Don't kill me."
Bree looked at him with contempt. "You loved ordering us around and torturing us. I bet if we let you go,
someone innocent would die by your hand. You were a killer before Carlisle turned you."
Riley gasped—he hadn't known Bree knew his secret. He backed away, swallowing nervously as the other vampires stared him down.
"Wait, I can be of use! I can be a guard!" he pleaded, looking at Athenodora.
Athenodora smiled coldly. "No. Kill him," she said to Dimitri.
Riley ran, but Jane paralyzed him with immense pain. As he fell to the ground, Dimitri was on him in seconds, tearing him apart.
"Well, that's that," Rosalie said happily as they gathered the bodies with the rest.
Sulpicia spoke, "Yes it's all done."
Bella blew blue fire from her mouth, lighting the body parts on fire and controlling
the flames so they only burned the corpses. Once satisfied that everything was reduced to ashes, she extinguished the fire.
"Let's leave," Didyme said, having had enough of this scene.
Sulpicia hugged her to her side and kissed her temple. "Yes, darling, you are right."
Tanya hugged Bella. "It's finally over."
"Yes, it is," Bella agreed.
Irina hugged Bella from the other side. "Oh, Bella, I'm so proud of you—the way you put Edward in his place and then killed him."
Bella smiled, feeling a heavy weight lift from her shoulders.
"So, baby," Kate said, wiggling her eyebrows. "Let us go on a date, dinner with me tonight? And afterward, maybe we can find something... constructive to do." Kate licked her lips playfully.
Bella laughed and hugged Kate tightly. "Oh God, Kate, don't ever change. I love you so much."
Kate melted in Bella's embrace. "I never will, don't worry. Now, let's go. I'm serious about that date."
Tanya smiled, feeling her mates happiness. She would do anything to keep it that way.
Rosalie held onto Emmett. "Come on, big guy. We're overdue for a vacation."
Emmett smiled. "Whatever you want, Rose."
Everyone left the warehouse, satisfaction clear on their faces.
Epilogue
"Ahh, there you are. I should have known you'd be here," Athenodora said to Bella, who was planting flowers with Didyme.
"I don't know why you bother playing in the dirt."
Didyme sighed. "You know very well we're not playing. You're just jealous that Bella shares my interest in gardening," Didyme teased.
"Well, it's boring! Come on, Bella, we're due at the gym," Athenodora urged.
"Can I have another hour, Mother?" Bella asked sweetly.
Athenodora sighed and sat near the water fountain, preparing to wait.
After the battle, Bella and her mates traveled to various countries, spending time alone together. It was a good vacation, and they learned more about each other as their bond grew stronger. When they returned to Volterra, Bella wanted to spend time with her mothers. She took an interest in all their hobbies: gardening with Didyme, learning to fight with Athenodora, and reading books with Sulpicia, they also researched dragons. But they haven't found enough information to locate them as yet. Bella knows that she can't be the only surviving dragon, she has to find them.
In the meantime, Bella is spending time with her family—a family she knows will never betray her, a family that loves her for who she is and what she is. Her past is now just a memory, a hurtful one, but it gets better each day as she is surrounded by love and care with her new family.
Rosalie and Emmett are still traveling, with the promise of moving in with the Volturi when they return. Rosalie wants to live with her new family, and Emmett doesn't mind as long as Rosalie is happy.
Esme and the other outcasts wanted to be near Bella, so she bought a villa in Volterra. Esme, the leader of their new coven called Luminara, which means, new beginnings. A more fitting name and She doesn't want to use her old last name. Everyone else agreed.
Esme and the others visit the castle whenever the queens permit it.
Bella may forgive them, but it's a slow process.
Sometimes, Esme can still see the hurt in Bella's eyes, but she is determined to set things right with her daughter. Her relationship with Bree is going well—she has never known love like this. It's vastly different from her relationship with Carlisle on an emotional level, and she's so grateful that Bree found her.
Sulpicia had spread the word throughout the supernatural world that she was searching for the dragons—royal or common, it didn't matter. She knew how much Bella wanted to reconnect with that part of herself, and she would do anything to help her child.
Sulpicia was sitting on the throne after addressing her last subject for the day when a guard ran in, bowing deeply.
"What is it?" she asked.
"I've got word from the royal dragons, Your Majesty," the guard announced.
"What?" Sulpicia asked, surprised. The guard held out a letter, and she flashed quickly toward him, took it, and dismissed the guard.
Sulpicia quickly opened the letter. There were four queens, and they had been searching for Bella ever since they found their dead son. They wanted permission to come to Volterra to meet their son's daughter and explain the situation.
Sulpicia was astonished by the letter. She hadn't expected to hear from the dragons so quickly, having only sent word two weeks ago. Bella would be thrilled when she heard this news. Sulpicia could only hope that the dragons were friendly and had Bella's best interests at heart.
She refolded the letter and set off to find Bella, her mates, and her wives. This was good news indeed, and she had to share it immediately.
