Chapter 36: Breathing Techniques
"I Checked her state, I can indeed heal her..."
Hearing this, Urokodaki who was in a daze watching the golden light felt elated
Even though he wasn't sure that it was true but based on what he saw and all the information he previously gathered there is a high chance that it was indeed genuine
So after falling silent for a couple of moments he couldn't help but finally speak up after a bit of hesitance
"Then can you..."
Even though he didn't finish the phrase Lorien understood what he was trying to say
He could indeed partially heal her on the spot and without much effort
All he needs to do is help her strengthen the 'Positive flame' power in her body as to create a balance between the two conflicting forces
Then he'll need to help her restore her clarity by suppressing those instincts and helping her soul return to a normal state
Those actions won't consume much energy as the foundation for all of this is already inside her body, and she could do it by herself without his help, it just needs some time
And what he'll do is just accelerate this process
But he wasn't going to do that for now, as what he'll end up with if he did that is just a demon who does not fear the sun, And that was never his objective
That is actually just the first step, what he then needs to do is eliminate all the demonic factors while keeping the immortality and the special ability
And finally, he needs to extract a copy of them and turn them into seeds and then improve them further
But all those steps require time and energy, and Lorien doesn't want to stay on this mountain far away from civilization for too long
As someone who feeds and grows stronger thanks to dreams, being this far away from civilization for a very long time is akin to punishment
So what he needs to do is to take her back with him
Of course, all of this is only after he learns the Breathing Techniques he came here for
With this in mind, Lorien responded while also shaking his head
"It can't be done here, I need to take her with me moreover it'll take some time"
Hearing this Urokodaki quickly calmed down knowing that things weren't as simple as they seemed which was expected
But deciding on this wasn't something he could do as he didn't have that authority to do so, if anyone had it that would be Tanjiro who was still training
And so, he shook his head and responded
"I can not decide on this matter, We should wait for Tanjiro"
But after saying that he paused again and continued
"I'll bring him now"
After all, this is much more important than whatever Tanjiro was doing right now, so even if he were to interrupt his training for a day it won't be an issue
But hearing this, Lorien refused
"We'll just wait, moreover this is only a side trade, I mainly came here to learn breathing techniques, so could you please introduce it to us?"
Only then did Urokodaki remember what they were here for, as Nezuko's matter occupied his attention causing him to totally forget about the training
So with this in mind, he nodded his head and walked out of the room indicating Lorien and Saigai to follow him
Who indeed did just that, subsequently closing the door behind them and returning the room in which Nezuko stayed to absolute darkness

A while later, and after a long detailed explanation by Urokodaki
'So that's how it is...'
Sitting in front of Urokodaki Lorien fell into contemplating as he digested the information he just obtained from the old man
'It is indeed as I anticipated…'
Those breathing techniques aren't swordsmanship at all
Rather at their base, they are body control techniques that helps the users better utilize and control their physical prowess, achieve better control over their body and how to exert said force
Of course, the level of control and strengthening depends on the mastery of those breathing techniques
Those who have just started or haven't yet reached advanced levels are indeed much stronger than normal people and have better control over their body
But they can't be compared to those who achieved full concentration (Constant) and are in full control of their body allowing them to use 100% of their power and can control very small aspects such as forcefully stopping bleeding...etc
Moreover, as they reach this level they could pump even more oxygen into their blood which aids physical strengthening allowing them to become comparable to demons
The actual difference between all the breathing techniques is the element or attribute they try to mimic in their breathing and then try and replicate it when exerting force while attacking or defending
Those different elements cause the way they apply force to be very different from one to the other
For example, the calm way a water breathing technique user exerts his power is very different from the explosive way a fire breathing technique user does
But in the end, they are all at their base as stated earlier just body control and force exertion techniques
Based on this Lorien could also predict what the truth about the see-through world and the demon slayer marks
For the see-through world, it is still based on being in full control of the body as users could shut out all useless external factors only keeping the necessary ones
Doing so gives them ocular extrasensory perception that alters their vision, allowing them to perceive other living beings as if they were transparent, only being able to see the inner workings of their bodies
This allows them to predict and evade their opponent's attacks, as well as to find openings for their own strikes
As for the demon slayer mark, it appears as users start burning lifespan for power, which allows them to quickly become stronger but it shortens their life span dramatically to just 25 years
'Finally, I can make up for this shortcoming...'
Lorien still didn't forget about his battle with Akaza, even though he had better physical strength, the demon was able to bridge this gap thanks to his phenomenal strength control and applications/exertion techniques
And now is a good opportunity to make up for it
'And the demon slayer mark could also be quite useful…'
But then, just as Lorien was contemplating a noise appeared from the direction of the front door as it slid open
"Tadaima!"
Looking at the origin of the voice, a smile appeared on Lorien's face as he quickly identified that it was indeed Tanjiro
