Chapter 27: Sudden Visitors
A few minutes later...
Lorien walked into the dojo just to see a young man and a woman standing there wearing some sort of uniform
The young man called Giyu had a serious and emotionless expression on his face, While the woman called Shinobu didnt look all that serious, rather she had a very friendly and cheerful demeanor quite the contrast with her companion
Lorien wasnt surprised seeing them here, after all with the organization's information collecting ability it's quite easy to find him after the battle with Akaza and it extending to the crowded streets
But seeing those he watched before in an anime walking in front of him, of flesh and blood, felt weird, But he had to admit Shinobu did look quite beautiful so she did pick his interest...
But its time for business so Lorien put all those thoughts aside and decided to focus on his objective, all other things can be achieved later
After observing them for a couple more moments Lorien finally spoke with a smile on his face
"Hello! My name is Lorien, Welcome to my house! I have heard great things about your organization"
As he spoke Lorien took 3 bokkens from the wall and then threw 2 of them in their direction
Seeing this, each of them caught the bokken thrown in their direction with a puzzled look, but they still responded none the less, the first to speak was Shinobu while Giyu kept silent
"Hi! My name is Shinobu, I am from the Demon Slayer Corps, we came to investigate the appearance of some demons here..."
Hearing this Lorien knew that his guess was correct, and this was a very good opportunity for him so he responded with a smile
"Oh! Do you mean upper moon 3? I killed him"
This answer was too sudden causing Shinobu who was about to continue talking to freeze
Seeing the two in front of him looking at him with eyes full of disbelief Lorien didn't care as he smiled and said
"I am a swordsman, I have long heard about how skilled the demon slayers are with the sword, how about we spar?"
From the moment he decided to speak the truth he knew it wouldn't be easy to convince them, and that's the main reason he sent them directly to the Dojo, And hearing what the Lorien said both of them nodded after a bit of though

A While later
Lorien could be seen sitting face to face with Giyu and Shinobu, each had a cup of hot tea in front of them
"So you want me to join the Demon Slayer Corps?"
"Yes~~ How about it, you'll become a Hashira and can learn breathing techniques..."
From the spar just now Shinobu knew that Lorien didn't know any breathing techniques but even then he was able to beat them
Hearing this Lorien looked a bit speechlessly at her before ruthlessly interrupting her speech
"Impossible"
Seeing that she still wanted to convince him, he continued with a helpless look on his face
"Let me be clear, I don't care about the conflict between humans and demons, the only reason I killed that demon you call upper moon 3 is because he attacked me, I don't have the sense of justice you guys have nor do I have a grudge against them"
Lorien wasnt lying, he really didnt care much about the well being of other humans, as long as he or those close to him aren't directly involved he wouldn't care that much
After all, as someone who will travel to an unknown number of worlds if he were to try and become the 'savior' each time, he'd die from exhaustion
Of course, if he sees something like that happening in front of him, he may act because of pity and sympathy, but wanting him to go look for demons on his own? impossible
Unless of course, it is something that benefits the World itself which is enough of an incentive for him to act
Seeing the two in front of him turn silent Lorien stopped talking as he didn't want things to become too stiff
After all, he is very interested in Breathing techniques, from the battle just now Lorien was able to approximate the true nature of it, and it's very useful for him
Moreover, it's not just that, He had just made those 'Dream Tree Seeds' and he's been thinking about how to send them to different towns
And now that the demons slayer corps came out on their own, Lorien would of course try and use their network, it would make things much easier for him
Feeling the atmosphere become weirder by the second Lorien continued speaking trying to ease it
"But...We can make a deal"
"Deal? What kind of deal"
Shinobu was the first to recover as she tilted her head asking
Actually, she wasnt surprised by Lorien's refusal to join, but she still felt pity, but even then she didn't push it too hard after all the Corps never force people
Moreover, her mission here wasnt to invite him either, She and Giyu were sent her to investigate the appearance of an upper moon
But after talking to him, having a small spar, and making sure that he killed Upper moon 3, she tried to pull him into their 'Pirate ship', But she really didnt expect the way he responded with
Hearing Shinobu's question Lorien responded with a confident look on his face
"I have some information about muzan and all of the upper moons, their abilities included, I can also help you guys kill them if you can provide something of equal value"
"Huhh??!"
Hearing this Shinobu yelped in shock, even Giyu's changed as his eyes widened
Barely restoring her bearing Shinobu quickly asked trying to verify
"Are you sure it's accurate???!!"
After all, if this information is true it would be a great breakthrough for them, it's simply invaluable
Seeing Lorien nodding she tried to hold back her excitement and asked
"What do you want in exchange?"
Hearing this he knew that the deal is basically done, so he proceeded to explain what he required from them
"I want the collection of breathing techniques your organization has, and I'll give you some seed you need to...."
After listening to his requirements Shinobu turned silent for a while before responding
"About the seeds, there is no issue, but the breathing techniques need the Master to agree"
She really wanted to agree here and now, but she didn't have enough authority to agree to something like that
Lorien wasn't surprised hearing this, he was just trying his luck, his main goal is actually the seeds as for the breathing techniques...
Lorien's eyes turned toward Giyu for a moment before shifting back to Shinobu as he spoke
"Okay then, next week send someone to take seeds and plant them precisely as I instructed, at that time ill give you a part of the information, you can check it out and then decide whether to continue to trade or not"
Tilting her head Shinobu didn't know how to answer for a while
Lorien's request to Plant seeds in specific locations and at a specific distance from the habitats of townspeople sounded very weird, she never heard of such a weird request in her life, but it was none of her business
As long as they can get the information no matter what weird thing the man in front was up to it didnt matter, Moreover what could planting some trees do
Thinking of this she agreed without a second thought
"Deal!"
Seeing her agree the smile on Lorien's face grew bigger as he spoke
"Okay then, till next week!"
Shinobu didnt have any more thought about this, so she nodded her head in agreement as she stood up ready to leave
Seeing this Lorien finally turned his attention to the silent Giyu who also stood up
If it wasn't for the fact that he wanted to get some information from him he'd probably forget he was even there
"Hey Giyu, did you meet a pair of brother and sister? One of them should be a demon but she's very different from other demons"
Hearing Lorien talk to him Giyu was startled, but hearing the question he hesitated whether to answer or not
But this hesitation was enough of a response in an out of itself, so Lorien continued speaking
"Just tell him that I can return his sister to normal in exchange for something he has"
After the spar Lorien's interest in those techniques peaked, and what better one than the original one to learn and improve upon, all the other ones are a bonus
After listening to what Lorien said Giyu responded with a nod keeping the same expressionless look on his face
Meanwhile, Shinobu looked at their interaction in silence
'Demon..., Sister'
