"What's going on," Thane asked as felt the three pairs of eyes stare into his soul, "Who are you people?"

The man smiled as his silver eyes practically shone, "Forgive us for bringing you here without your consent. But you must understand we have been waiting for centuries. As for who we are, I believe you already know the answer to that question."

Thane hesitated for a second before answering, "It doesn't make any sense but you must be Fae."

The man nodded his head, "Indeed we are, more specifically I am Thalion, former King of the Faerie Courts. Beside me are my wives, Solara, former Queen of the Summer Court and Elara, former Queen of the Winter Court."

As their names were said Solara and Elara dipped their heads to Thane in greeting who was shocked into a stunned silence.

"But Balor said all the Fae had died out centuries ago," Thane muttered with a faraway look in his eyes as wracked his brain for a solution.

A sad smile crossed Thalion's face, "The goblin did not lie, we are only remnants of our true selves which passed from this realm long ago with the rest of our people."

"Then how am I speaking to you, and what is this place?" Thane asked with a burning curiosity in his eyes before he looked around the space they occupied. It was a luxurious throne room with massive silver pillars lining the center of the room outlining a path to where the Fae royalty sat. The walls were made out of a shimmering glass like material stained green that let sunlight from the outside stream into the room.

"We are currently inside your mind," Solara answered with a musical lilt to her voice, "It has simply been given shape so we may commune."

"We're inside my head?" Thane repeated in wonder as he looked around the great hall once more, "How is this possible?"

"All Fae share an ancestral memory, yours simply required an infusion of our magic to awaken." Elara answered as she fixed Thane with her deep blue eyes.

"The artifacts," Thane muttered to which Elara nodded with a grin, "Each one contains a fragment of our consciousness, a repository of all our knowledge that we shall pass onto you."

"Power, Knowledge and Prestige," Thane repeated as he looked from Solara to Elara to Thalion.

"The core values of the Fae," Thalion responded as he stood from his throne, "Ones that you will learn to embody as the savior of our people."

Thane slowly shook his head, "I think that title is a bit beyond me."

Thalion smiled as he walked down the dias and strode towards Thane, "Perhaps at the moment it is, but I can see the potential within you. Trust in our ability to guide you down the right path, and most importantly trust in yourself."

Thalion stopped in front of Thane as he reached out and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, "I can feel your desire to understand your place in this world, the questions burning away inside you. We can show you the way, the path forward to claiming your destiny!"

Thane stared up at Thalion for a long moment before he nodded once, "O-Okay."

Thalion grinned and patted Thane's shoulder, "Not the enthusiastic response I was expecting but I'll take it. Now let us begin."

Coming to a stop in front of Thane's room, McGonagall raised her hand to knock only for the door to swing open before she could, "Good morning Professor."

McGonagall blinked as she stared at Thane standing in the doorway in front of her, unable to shake the feeling that something about him had changed. At first she thought it was Thane's hair which had been tied back into a neat bun revealing his face. But after a moment the professor realized the chance wasn't at the surface level.

Before Thane had been an open book, very much easy to read to the point where McGonagall thought it prudent to warn Thane to protect himself. But now that air of naivety was gone, Thane seemed far more composed with a feeling of resolute confidence and poise. The change would have concerned McGonagall more if not for the familiar glimmer of curiosity and wonder still present in Thane's emerald green eyes.

"Good morning to you as well Thane, I see you're well prepared for the day." McGonagall replied after a second as she moved aside so Thane could join her in the hall.

"I want to make a good impression, I'll be meeting a lot of people today for the first time." Thane responded smoothly with an even tone and rhythm.

Again surprised by his response, McGonagall took a moment to respond, "I see, well then let's make sure you arrive on time."

McGonagall offered Thane her hand which he took without hesitation and the next second they vanished from the hall.

"All Aboard!"

At the sound of the conductor's voice Thane picked his head up just as a sharp whistle split the air and the train lurched into motion and pulled out of the station.

"About time," Thane muttered having been one of the first on the train as McGonagall had apparated him directly to the platform and his luggage had already been taken to Hogwarts. He had even managed to snag a booth all to himself.

Just as Thane was about to go back to reading his grimoire the door opened and Thane looked over to see two girls standing in the doorway, "Excuse me, are these seats taken?"

Glancing between the two Thane realized that they were both nearly identical, however the auras surrounding the girls couldn't be more polarizing,"They're all yours."

The two girls, twins most likely shared a smile before moving to sit down across from Thane, "Thanks, my name's Parvati and this is my twin sister Padma."

"I can introduce myself you know, I don't need you to do it for me" Padma muttered which elicited an eye roll from Parvati.

Thane allowed a polite smile to spread across his lips as he stretched out his hand, "Thane Carter, it's a pleasure to meet the both of you."
