Kigal-Note/Traits: Dragon-type Traits (Post-Nightmare Festival)
General Description:
Dragon-type traits are those owned by the mighty dragons and their sub-species.
These traits are generally divided into true attribute-based dragons, "false" dragons (with children dragons being of this category), dragonoids (dragon-species with humanoid features), wyverns, wyrms, sea serpents, (notable half-dragons that live in the skies, in the earth, and the seas), and Loongs (a special breed of dragons who has a more mystical nature than normal dragons).
A common point among all the Dragon-type traits is that they all require way more LP than normal. Also, they all take more damage from Dragon Slayer-type weapons, but only the true, attribute-based dragons take the full brunt of these weapons. The owner of the other traits, even the Loongs, will only take 50% of this "bonus damage".
Trait: | "X" Dragon |
Abilities: |
|
Description:
The "X" Dragon trait is exclusive for the "pure attribute" dragons such as Fire Dragons, Ice Dragons, and the various evolutions of those species.
They have the strongest gr0wth rate regarding Dragon-type skills, are unstoppable when it comes to skills of their attribute, and have the most strict LP requirement of them all. A normal Fire Dragon is a C-rank species, so if one wishes to include one in a Party, the leader has to be prepared to sacrifice [25 * 2 * 2 = 100] LP.
An interesting point about this trait is that the "X" that represents the attribute of the dragon can change upon evolution. If a Fire Dragon decides to evolve into a Magma-based dragon species, the trait will also evolve from "Fire Dragon" into "Magma Dragon".
Trait: | Pseudo-Dragon |
Abilities: |
|
Description:
Pseudo-Dragons are lower-ranked dragons or dragons who are not qualified (or have yet to obtain qualifications) to be called a "proper" dragon. Their growth rate is lower than that of the attribute dragons, but the LP required for them to join a group isn't as drastic as that of the proper dragons. It is still quite steep compared to other creatures, but pseudo or not, these are still dragons. They know how to make up the difference.
Trait: | Dragonoid |
Abilities: |
|
Description:
Dragonoid is the trait used by humanoids who are treated as dragons. The LP required to allow them to join groups is way lower compared to dragons or pseudo-dragons, and they also benefit from the abilities of other Humanoid-type traits.
The sole downside is that they cannot reduce the LP cost to allow other people to join their groups, but in return, they have access to powerful Dragon-type skills.
Trait: | Wyvern |
Abilities: |
|
Description:
Wyverns are flight specialists among the pseudo-dragons. They have it easier to obtain and use flight-type skills and they gain extra resistance against weather-based attacks. However, they do not have as much proficiency with Dragon-type skills when compared to pseudo-dragons, so many people debate over if wyverns should be considered a breed of dragons.
Trait: | Wyrm |
Abilities: |
|
Description:
If Wyverns rule the skies, then the Wyrms are the lords of the underground. They are resistant against landscape-type attributes, which even extends to rare and powerful attributes such as Magma, and their digging skills make even a single tamed Wyrm worth the time, expenses, and LP, all worth it for a mining company if they manage to clear such a high-difficulty task.
Trait: | Sea Serpent |
Abilities: |
|
Description:
Despite their misleading name, Sea Serpents are proper dragon relatives. They are found in the seas and possess a strong connection to the Ocean attribute. Fishing a Sea Serpent is said to be one of the greatest challenges a fisherman could ever experience countless boats have taken their final voyage due to these slippery beasts.
Trait: | "X" Loong |
Abilities: |
|
Description:
Loongs are relatives of dragons that have their habitats on the Luxuria continent. They are more mystical compared to dragons, so they have a higher defense against magic attacks than other dragon species.
While their dragon-type skills are not as impressive as that of the attribute dragons, Loongs have access to exclusive "Loong-type" skills, which are more magical and trickier in nature compared to dragon-type skills. Therefore, dragons and Loongs are often separated as "warriors" and "magicians" when compared to one another.
Vierter's comment: This is why I cannot promote one of my Beastkin men to a leadership position.
Flint's comment: And that means more work for you and the other Ice Dragons. It's lonely at the top, I guess.
