Kamen Rider in DC

Chapter 29: Chapter 29

Haruka's heart raced as he watched the bodyguards around Perdita fall one by one. He knew he had to act, but transforming in the middle of the crowded airport would draw too much attention.

Ducking behind a nearby pillar, Haruka quickly addressed his AI companion, Ada. "Ada, is there anything in the system shop that can help me conceal my identity and get to Perdita without being noticed?"

[Yes, host. The system shop has several items that could assist you in this situation.]

Haruka eyes the floating screen of his AI companion, Ada. "Show me the most useful item in the system shop," he says, his voice low and gruff.

Haruka looks at the replica armor of The First, and it is enough to fit his needs. The armor is a sleek, metallic design with a striking silver-green helmet and sharp, angular lines. Compound eyes glow a fierce red, giving it a menacing yet futuristic appearance. The twin antennae on the head are shorter and more angular, adding an aggressive edge to the silhouette.

"I'll take it," Haruka says, his voice laced with determination.

Haruka buys the replica armor, and the armor covers his body immediately like a one-click change. The black and green segmented bodysuit molds to his frame, the glossy black sections and metallic green shoulder pads and gauntlets providing a sense of protection. The crimson scarf drapes around his neck, fluttering dramatically as he clenches his fists, ready for action.

Haruka sees one of the assassins dressed as a common civilian aiming a pistol at Perdita. Reacting quickly, Haruka rushes forward and tackles the assassin, knocking the gun from his hand. The assassin struggles against Haruka's grip, but Haruka lands a solid punch, rendering him unconscious.

Scanning the area, Haruka spots more suspicious figures closing in on Perdita. Without hesitation, he springs into action, intercepting the would-be assassins. One assailant lunges at him with a knife, but Haruka deflects the attack, grabbing the man's wrist and twisting it, causing him to drop the blade.

Another assassin charges, wielding a baton, but Haruka deftly sidesteps the blow and counters with a swift kick to the abdomen, sending the man reeling. Perdita watches in awe as Haruka effortlessly dispatches her attackers, his movements fluid and precise.

As the last assassin falls, Haruka turns to Perdita, his expression hidden behind the Kamen Rider The First helmet.

Perdita looks at the armored figure with a mixture of relief and uncertainty. "Who are you?" she asks, her voice steady despite the tense situation.

Haruka stands tall, the Kamen Rider The First helmet concealing his face. "I am Kamen Rider," he replies, his voice modulated by the suit. "I'm here to help you, Your Majesty."

He extends his hand towards Perdita, an offer of assistance. Perdita hesitates for a moment, her eyes searching the expressionless faceplate, before she reaches out and takes his hand. Her fingers curl around his, and she allows him to guide her to safety, away from the unconscious assassins.

Haruka tightens his grip on Perdita's hand, his mind racing.

"We need to get out of here," he says urgently. "More assassins will be coming."

As the words leave his lips, the sound of gunfire erupts. Perdita ducks instinctively, and Haruka pulls her close, shielding her with his body.

Reaching into his inventory, Haruka retrieves the Shotriser, the sleek transformation device and firearm. Gripping it firmly, he steps in front of Perdita, taking aim at the approaching assassins.

The Shotriser whirs to life, and Haruka opens fire, his shots precise and calculated. The assassins scatter, taking cover, but Haruka refuses to relent, his focus unwavering as he protects Perdita.

Seeing they are slowly getting surrounded, Haruka acts quickly. He shoots at a nearby window, shattering the glass. Turning to Perdita, he gathers her into his arms, cradling her in a princess carry.

"Hold on tight, Your Majesty," Haruka says, his voice modulated by the Kamen Rider The First helmet.

Without hesitation, he leaps out the broken window, Perdita secured in his grasp. They plummet towards the ground below, Haruka's focus unwavering as he lands with a thud, bending his knees to absorb the impact.

The moment his feet touch the pavement, Haruka takes off in a sprint, his long strides eating up the distance. Perdita clutches onto him, her eyes wide with a mixture of fear and awe.

Haruka was running across the airport runway with Perdita cradled in his arms. Suddenly, an arrow whizzed by, narrowly missing Perdita's head. Reacting quickly, Haruka raised his arm, deflecting the arrow with a metallic clang.

Scanning the area, Haruka spotted a figure on the rooftop, a man wielding a bow. He had a lithe, athletic build and wore a dark green bodysuit with a hooded cape that billowed in the wind. His features were obscured by the shadows, but Haruka could make out his sharp, angular jawline and piercing eyes.

The man drew another arrow, the string of his bow pulled taut, and Haruka braced himself for the next attack. This stranger was clearly a skilled marksman, and Haruka knew he posed a serious threat to Perdita's safety.

Haruka and Perdita took cover behind a stack of luggage, shielding themselves from the archer's relentless barrage of arrows. Perdita's eyes were wide with fear, but Haruka remained calm, his gaze focused on the rooftop where the archer stood.

Gripping the Shotriser tightly, Haruka leaned out from their cover and returned fire, his shots precise and calculated. The archer, however, moved with the agility of a cat, effortlessly dodging the energy projectiles.

"Who are you?" Haruka muttered to himself, his voice modulated by the Kamen Rider The First helmet.

As if in response, a new volley of arrows rained down, forcing Haruka and Perdita to duck back behind the luggage. The sound of the arrows thudding into the bags was deafening, and Perdita flinched with each impact.

Just as Haruka was about to make another attempt to counterattack, a figure in green suddenly appeared, blocking the archer's line of sight. Haruka's eyes widened as he recognized the distinctive green costume and bow.

"Green Arrow," he breathed, momentarily stunned by the arrival of the legendary hero.

Green Arrow nocked an arrow and let it fly, the projectile streaking towards the archer on the rooftop. The black-clad figure reacted quickly, deflecting the arrow with a well-placed shot of his own.

Haruka seized the opportunity, emerging from cover and unleashing a barrage of shots from the Shotriser. The archer was forced to divide his attention, dodging Haruka's attacks while also fending off Green Arrow's onslaught.

In the midst of the chaos, a new figure joined the fray. Haruka caught a glimpse of a red-clad archer, his movements swift and precise as he fired a series of arrows, providing covering fire for Green Arrow.

"Speedy," Haruka murmured, recognizing the sidekick from the stories he had heard.

Green Arrow, the legendary hero in emerald green, swiftly joins the fray, firing a volley of arrows at the elusive black-clad archer on the rooftop. Haruka, still shielding Perdita, watches as the two skilled marksmen exchange a flurry of shots, their arrows colliding in midair with resounding clangs.

"Kid, you need some help?" Green Arrow calls out, his voice gruff but tinged with a hint of concern as he glances at Haruka and Perdita.

Haruka hesitates for a moment, weighing the risks, but the safety of the young queen takes precedence. "Yes, please," he responds, his modulated voice betraying a sense of relief.

With a nod, Green Arrow gestures to the red-clad archer, Speedy, who immediately springs into action, providing cover fire to distract the black archer. Haruka, still clutching Perdita protectively, rises from his cover, the Shotriser at the ready, and joins the two heroes in their assault.

The trio's combined efforts prove formidable, their arrows and energy blasts forcing the black archer to constantly evade and reposition. Haruka, his movements enhanced by the Kamen Rider The First armor, darts between cover, providing precise support with the Shotriser's firepower.

As the battle rages on, Haruka can't help but feel a sense of awe at the skill and coordination displayed by Green Arrow and Speedy. Their archery prowess is unparalleled, and Haruka finds himself falling into a rhythm, his shots complementing their attacks.

Amidst the chaos, Haruka seizes an opportunity and calls out to Green Arrow, "Do you know this archer?"

Green Arrow, his focus unwavering, replies, "Yeah, kid, we've got history. That's Merlyn, the Dark Archer. He's a deadly marksman and a longtime rival of mine."

Haruka's eyes widen behind the helmet's visor. "Merlyn?" he echoes, the name resonating with the tales of the legendary archer he had heard.

"That's right, princess," Green Arrow says, sparing a quick glance towards Perdita. "Merlyn's been a thorn in my side for years. He's a cold-blooded assassin, and he's got it out for me and anyone I care about."

Haruka, Green Arrow, and Speedy's priority is to escape with Perdita. Green Arrow knows where they can escape and he fires a trick arrow at Merlyn, creating a thick smoke cover. Taking advantage of the distraction, Green Arrow ushers Haruka and Perdita towards his own car, parked nearby.

"This way, kid!" Green Arrow shouts, his voice cutting through the haze. He gestures for Haruka and Perdita to follow him, his movements swift and decisive.

Haruka tightens his grip on Perdita, guiding her alongside the legendary archer. Speedy covers their retreat, firing a volley of arrows to keep Merlyn at bay. The three make a hasty retreat, Haruka and Perdita piling into the backseat of Green Arrow's car.

"Hang on tight!" Green Arrow calls out, peeling out of the airport parking lot with a squeal of tires. Speedy leaps onto the car's running board, his bow at the ready in case of pursuit.

As they speed away, Haruka chances a glance back, watching as the smoke dissipates and Merlyn emerges from the haze, his expression one of pure frustration. The Dark Archer taps into his communication device, his voice laced with displeasure.

"The target has escaped," Merlyn reports, his words dripping with venom. "Green Arrow and the Kamen Rider interfered. I'll need backup to track them down."
