Izumi Miyamura: Xover

Chapter 3: Izumi Miyamura: Xover - Chapter 3

April 23, 2xxx – Izumi PoV

I heard my phone ring as soon as I got out of the shower, it was rare for someone to call me so early in the morning, even more so on a Saturday, so I took it with curiosity before blinking slightly, it had been exactly 6 days since the encounter with Taylor, and here I was now, huffing playfully as I answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hh-Hi!" Taylor yelled into my ear and I winced "I-I'm Taylor, Taylor Hebert, t-this is Miyamura Izumi? W-we met a week ago" I could hear her voice shaking as she spoke, she rolled her eyes at Taylor's clear nervousness.

"And here I thought you wouldn't call me," I said mockingly.

"I-I'm sorry!" Taylor yelled in my ear again. "W-was I busy? Yes ! I was busy w-with, t-things?"

"With things? Like what ?" I asked playfully, I could hear Taylor panicking slightly.

"Y-you know, t-training?" Taylor said more in the form of a question than an answer, I rolled my eyes.

"Sure, then, do you want to go get some coffee or tea? There's a cafe near the square where we were the other day, of course, if you're not busy with... things" it was fun to make fun of Taylor, in fact, all the girls in this world reacted the same, I think I was starting to realize why the girls in my original world tended to make guys nervous, it was fun to see them squirm with nervousness.

"YES! I mean no! No wait I- ahem , I mean, of course I'm not busy, we can go for a drink" the desperation at first and her attempt to appear calm immediately after almost made me burst out laughing, I had to hold back a lot.

"Excellent, I'll send you a message with the address, in an hour is that okay?"

"YES! Of course! See you in an hour!" I hummed lightly in response, Taylor sounded so excited yet I hung up and quickly texted her the location of the cafe, now, let's give Taylor a surprise, with a smile I started to get ready.

I was running 5 minutes late on purpose, arriving before Taylor was unacceptable, as someone who had been on the other side of gender roles, arriving after the woman was unacceptable in my eyes, so giving Taylor a head start to get there first was a small help, plus depending on how your date was dressed, being late made it look like you spent a lot of time putting together your image to impress her, which also earned points, even more so for how she was dressed.

Taylor, she had only met me once, in something modest, but especially with my hair down and my glasses, she was the first to say that now, with my hair tied up and the piercings I looked like a completely different person and it was something I liked, I really never understood why Izumi Miyamura from canon cut her hair, long hair really looked better and since this was my body now, it was going to stay long.

I went back to using my bike as a means of transportation while ignoring the glances of the women along the way, once I finally arrived at the place, I parked outside, I could see a really nervous Taylor fiddling with her hands sitting inside the cafe, she had a steaming cup of tea in front of her, with a slight smile on her face as she entered the place.

" Welcome -" I looked at the barista my age who was saying hello before staring at me with her mouth open, I raised an eyebrow in her direction which made her wake up from her reverie, she blushed deeply "w-welcome sir, what can I serve you?"

"Mocha, extra chocolate, no foam, 2 sugars" I had a sweet tooth, sue me, the good thing about this world, people didn't look at me weird for ordering something extremely sweet, a point in favor of reversed gender roles, the barista nodded as she took the order "I'll also have a couple of chocolate muffins"

"Of course sir, anything else?" the barista asked with a smile.

"Not right now," I shook my head, "I'll be with my date," I said simply and I could see the barista's smile tighten, she just nodded, I hummed lightly before turning to Taylor who had been squinting at me nervously, "Miss Hebert, nice to see you again," Taylor startled and looked at me nervously before blinking.

"Izumi?" she asked in surprise, I gave her a smile as I sat down, she seemed stunned as she looked at me with a slight blush.

"And by name? How bold of you, Miss Hebert." I smiled mockingly at her, I looked at her in horror and the blush on her face was wonderful.

"S-sorry! I didn't mean to! It's habit!" I laughed lightly.

"Don't worry, it was a joke, you can call me Izumi, Taylor" I purred her name with a smile, it was very effective as Taylor started to blush, although she quickly recovered, it was small but I could feel the bugs on the ground slightly stir in an abnormal manner so I already knew how to vent her feelings on the bugs, good to know, she cleared her throat lightly.

"Y-you look good - I mean, amazing! Beautiful" Taylor blushed deeper in embarrassment, I just laughed lightly.

"Because, thank you very much, I prepared myself for you," I said with a wink. I didn't think it was possible, but the blush got worse, but this time accompanied by a shy smile that she quickly tried to hide with her cup of tea. "So Taylor, what brings you to Japan, besides the UA?"

" I -I won a contest?" Taylor said weakly before making a face, I snorted lightly but didn't say anything due to the barista who approached.

"Your order sir" she placed my drink and snacks in front of me, I barely gave her a quick glance before continuing to look at Taylor.

"Thanks, that's all for now." I said simply, I could feel the reluctance coming off her in waves, but she nodded and walked away anyway, I took the cup and took a small sip, glorious chocolate we meet again "So, I must say I can sense when people lie to me." I could see her pale, though her expression barely changed, instead the insects went crazy.

"I-" she looked conflicted as she tried to decide what to say, she sighed lightly before saying defeatedly "the PRT gave me a choice, UA or prison." my eyebrows raised slightly.

"Jail or exile, are you a bad girl, Taylor?" I asked mockingly, she grimaced despite her blush, I really wondered what she had done to end up in such a position, it was mid-April, the locker incident in canon happened in early January but it should have been a year or two ago, Taylor seemed to be my age 17~18 years old, although possibly, like the AU and the entire Boku no Hero canon, it's possible that her plot has also been temporarily moved.

"Not exactly." She sighed. "And- it's not an exile." I could tell she didn't believe it either, I hummed as I took another sip of my mocha.

"By law, if a person decides to study in a foreign country to become a hero or hunter, once they graduate they must serve that country for 5 to 10 years." I set my cup down on the table, it was something that had been implemented in most countries so they could legally steal talented people from other countries, Taylor looked down "Counting the 3 years that UA lasts and that your enrollment is still 10 months away, it's 9 to 14 years before you can set foot in the united states permanently, it's an exile." I said softly, Taylor's expression seemed broken and I made a face "I'm sorry, that wasn't necessary of me." We remained in awkward silence for a few minutes.

"no you're right" she said softly "they wanted me out of the country, if it's permanent it would be good for them." and I made a face, and I was more than sure it would be permanent, by the time a person finished their mandatory service they would be between 23 and 28 years old, more than old enough for them to have already built a life for themselves in the new country, most women who are lucky enough to find a partner, do so before they're 20, at the latest 25 because men were forced to form relationships as soon as possible, so there's a high chance that it would influence their final decisions to stay in the country after their service, after all men are not allowed to migrate from one country to another, with the low numbers of males being born it's necessary to keep the numbers as high as possible.

"Her loss." I said with a smile and Taylor looked at me surprised, "My gain." I purred staring at her making her blush, she looked away at her mug which she quickly grabbed with a slight tremble, it was fun to tease her, I certainly didn't know her well enough to start some sort of relationship with her but it never hurt to flirt a little, watching her squirm was entertaining, "So Taylor, let's get to lighter topics, what's your quirk if I might ask?" She set her mug down and made a face, I bit into the muffin and moaned lightly, I could never get enough of chocolate, Taylor blushed once more before coughing lightly.

" And I control insects."

"scope? quantity?"

"All of them, 3 blocks away around me," she whistled in amazement.

"Impressive really." Taylor looked surprised and slightly confused "that's about 300 meters." Now she glared at me, I smirked at her.

"Yes, it's 300 meters," she said through gritted teeth, my smile growing wider.

"It's a good quirk, a pretty strong and scary one if used correctly." She grimaced.

"They're bugs, nothing impressive." She sounded really bitter, I rolled my eyes.

"Taylor, you can kill most S-class and national heroes and hunters with just your bugs." She looked at me in disbelief, I shrugged "most of them still need to breathe, get as many as you can into their lungs before they can react and you've won the fight." Taylor paled before frowning in consideration.

"I can't just go around killing all the villains, besides suffocating them, my other option is to poison them to a toxic shock, and they're of little use against the monsters at the gates." I hummed softly.

"That's true, it's basically all or nothing, either you use lethal force or you can just distract them, I assume you're learning how to fight?" She blinked in confusion.

"To fight? Why?" I resisted all the impulse to hit my face with the palm of my hand, I was sure it wasn't just her naivety, it was something normalized everywhere, overtrusting and overvaluing quirks over everything else, I take a long drink of my mocha to calm down, it was stupid, this world although it was not completely supernatural there were fundamentally different things, the body of a person with the necessary exercise could be stupidly strong without any peculiarity, something that very few took advantage of by adding aura and Haki, which curiously was an advanced way of using aura, someone without any quirk could be equal or more dangerous than a possessor of a strong quirk if she trained enough.

"Taylor, I know you girls have limited foresight-" "HEY!" "-but aren't you really learning any martial arts, or at the very least, how to throw a good punch or use a weapon?" She squirmed in her seat, sighing tiredly. "Taylor, Taylor, Taylor." She grimaced. "If you can't use your bugs to attack, you're only left with your body or some weapon if you choose to use one, anyone with the ability to ignore your bugs would easily defeat you, I would easily defeat you as you are now." She frowned.

"Now you're making fun of me ." I snorted loudly.

"Taylor, I've been working out since I could walk." She looked at me incredulously, and I could see why, my body was extremely skinny, and I was sure she had a vision of men as delicate and weak, so I rolled my eyes, took a long sip of my mocha to finish it and stood up, grabbing the chocolate muffin "let's go." She looked surprised and it took her a few seconds to follow me, I was already at the checkout "I'll pay for her and myself ." I said simply pulling out a card and handing it to the barista who looked shocked.

"W-what? No wait, I can pay for both of us!" Taylor tried to say quickly while searching for her wallet.

"Next time." I said simply before looking at the barista to prompt her to charge, which she promptly did, Taylor beside me looked confused and somewhat hurt, I almost rolled my eyes, the female ego in this world was a fragile thing, as if not paying for my coffee was a blow to her femininity.

"Thank you so much and come back soon." The barista snapped me out of my thoughts as she handed me the card and receipt, I nodded slightly before heading for the exit, I looked over my shoulder as I sensed that Taylor wasn't following me "Come on Taylor!" She jumped in my direction immediately.
