Chapter 257 0 Food Pantry
During the first week of September, she decided to build a snack pantry.
To be honest, she couldn't accurately determine the size of the entire room in advance, so she planned to simply fill it up and expand it at the same time.
She made a simple plan and decided that the whole room should be divided into two parts, a snack room and a tea room. It didn't need to be divided into two rooms, but the two parts still had to be distinct.
She used her barely legible drawing skills to make a schematic diagram, which roughly included snacks on one side of the room and drinks and a bar on the other side.
Use a rest area as a soft partition in the middle, lay a carpet, put a sofa, a massage chair, a coffee table, and a lamp.
Sometimes when you get snacks, you can just eat and enjoy them here, play with your phone or read a book.
As for the projection, she thought about it and decided not to install it here. If she wanted to watch a movie, she could go to a private theater or go back to the bedroom and turn on the projection.
If you want to watch a drama here, just watch it on your laptop.
Then open windows on the walls on both sides of the rest area. On one side is a huge glass window, which can accommodate enough sunlight;
The window on the other side does not need to be so big, but it can be lower, and "plant" flowers outside so that the flowers can reach into the window.
You can pull a wooden rod as a curtain rod on the window and hang white cotton and linen curtains - they are only for decoration and are not closed. They are directly hung up with ropes and become a landscape with the intruding flowers.
Under this window, she plans to build a sink. The white porcelain sink is paired with a dark gold faucet with intricate carvings, creating a clean area full of retro pastoral charm.
Eating snacks will inevitably dirty your hands, so you need a place to wash your hands.
In fact, in detail, the bar she planned to place in the tea area also has a sink, but since it is behind the bar, it feels like an exclusive sink.
It just so happened that she didn't want the two walls on both sides of the rest area to be the same, so she simply installed a sink here, which was also very practical.
The water tower that supplies water to the two faucets is hidden directly behind the wall, leaving a separate area, which is a very easy solution.
However, while planning the snack and pantry room, she felt that she could also put the beautification of the bathroom on the agenda - she still uses a very simple original bathroom.
Those queued up at the back, and now we still have to do the snack pantry.
On the side where the drinks are placed, she plans to place room temperature, refrigerated and frozen types respectively, using ordinary shelves, vertical freezers and horizontal freezers to store them.
When building a house in space, there is no floor area limit, and she doesn’t feel the need to place it in a particularly crowded place.
And the food that was originally going to be put in this room didn't need to be a lot, just put a few of each kind to show that there was such a thing, and it was mainly in the warehouse behind - the space storage area.
Therefore, the overall arrangement can be looser, and the shelves can also choose more beautiful styles.
However, one thing that should also be noted at the same time is that this room is not only for displaying snacks to look good, but also for her to walk around and choose.
So she can't really ignore the area and make it very wide. If she wants to get a snack, she has to walk a long way, which is too troublesome.
Based on various considerations, combined with the variety and quantity of goods stored in the space, she probably arranged some cabinets and shelves to store items.
On the other side of the pantry, there are three types of freezers: vertical freezers for refrigerated drinks, horizontal freezers for freezing, and open air-cooled cabinets for milk, yogurt and other drinks.
To unify the tone, the freezers and shelves on this side are all in black or white.
The shelves for placing room-temperature drinks use simple black shelves. They don’t need to be too high. She can reach the top shelf by just raising her hand. It’s suitable;
Several freezers are also in black and white styles. Some have black frames and some have white shelves, so they don't look out of place when put together.
As she placed these shelves and cabinets, she filled them directly with drinks.
There is no need to have too much of each item, about five units is enough. The specific quantity will be adjusted according to the capacity of the shelves and freezers, and strive to be neat but not empty, rich but not complicated.
On the horizontal and vertical shelves in a simple style that seem to be outlined with lines, it is natural to continue this style. Different drinks are placed at a distance, with two rows of each type next to each other, with three bottles in one row.
Vertical freezers are similar, but the space is small. One kind can be placed in one row. She likes large air-cooling cabinets, which can be placed in a long position. Nine bottles of the same kind can be placed directly in a nine-square grid.
The horizontal freezer needs to be overlooked. She uses the standard white iron frame as a partition. She chooses a model with a small and deep capacity, just enough to store beverage bottles vertically. Each frame is filled with the same kind of beverage.
This is the beverage area, and next to it is the bar area.
The bar top is black with white underneath, and is made of polished stone. It has a regular shape, is fashionable and simple, and the inside is made into a shelf, which is perfect for placing cups, straws and other items.
At the back is a console with a sink, on which are placed coffee machines, food processors, microwaves and other electrical appliances.
Next to the bar area, there is a wooden wine rack, which is not big. There are red wine bottles scattered on it, which serves as a decoration.
This is the complete pantry on one side, with an open seating area in the middle, and a snack room on the other side of the room.
On the side where the snacks are placed, she plans to use a combination of cabinets and shelves. Those with small packages will be displayed in cabinets.
For example, some biscuits are individually packaged after being opened. For this kind of biscuits, you can put a storage box in the cabinet, pour the small packages directly into it, and put an unopened large bag behind.
When you want to eat, just walk over and grab a handful.
For large bags of puffed food that are not individually packaged and ready to eat, such as potato chips, use shelves with enclosures on the front, back, and left, and squeeze snacks into them until they are full.
The cabinet here is a pure white, square-shaped, cold-style standing cabinet. It slides open against the wall, and the grid in the middle is filled with storage boxes of the right size.
She only placed snack storage on a few levels that were convenient for her to take. In the space above, she used some vases and decorative crafts to place them at random, adding a lot of color to the pure white cabinet.
The shelves use a combination of pure white and wood colors. The white pallets are matched with smooth wood-colored fences, which are evenly arranged in several rows in the middle.
In addition, there is an open air-cooling cabinet on this side, which contains snacks such as jelly and pudding that taste better after being refrigerated, as well as washed and cut fruits.
The entire snack and tea room uses white as the main color, with whitewashed walls and large white imitation marble tiles with light blue patterns on the floor. The ceiling is high and has a triangular shape, making the space appear more open.
Such a setting can make the window that accommodates sunlight taller, giving it an airy and holy beauty.
