In The Abyss As A Toon Character

Chapter 86: Chapter 76 Is it necessary?

Dante's heart pounded in his chest as he observed the subtle shift in his alternative's aura, flickering between a dark and sinister sensation that sent a chill down his spine. "What do you mean by Unwitting living battery..." he managed to stammer, his voice trembling with uncertainty.

The alternative explained, deepening Dante's sense of dread, "He is our target. I need to constantly feed him love potions to keep myself full of energy. After all, who could have guessed it! I developed a resistance to potions from drinking hundreds of them! Oh, and there are a few other... substances I've been forcing him, depending on what I need. Fighting consumes a lot of energy, you see..."

Dante's mind reeled with disbelief, struggling to comprehend the manic in front of him, "Why... Why would you do that?" Like a tumbling rabbit hole, it opened door after door, and now Dante already had an idea of what she was talking about; this was a possible path that he ignored for specific reasons. First, he needed to fall in love; this wasn't hard, but it was out of the question for him. Yet it appeared that this version threw all sentimental valor love carried and drugged herself with potions to fake it. He hoped that what he thinks is wrong, yet the proof in front of him was irrefutable.

"Duh, he is the source of my power," she declared casually as if discussing the weather we were talking about. "Yes... there are a few problems in placing your entire power in another being that isn't you, but the rewards are more than enough to cover the weakness. Sadly... He is slowly building drug resistance like me, and probably will have to mess with his soul to reset that resistance-" she continued, her voice trailing off as she delved deeper into the twisted workings of her mind.

Dante's sanity dwelled the more she heard this psychopath talking; his mind entered a short trance where he blanked out for thinking too much; when his brain got back, she was still explaining, "-We had to brainwash him, drug him, and a few more things. Don't worry it's just in the start after a while, he will calm down and stop his... aggressive conduct and become more submissive... I don't want to do the same I had to do with myself, he might die and that will have a huge backlash on my soul, potentially crippling me!"

The way she spoke made it clear that the life of his companion wasn't that really important, but what mattered was that she would be crippled in power; it was clear that to her, the life of "he" was merely a means to an end, a pawn to be sacrificed in pursuit of power. Her self-centered and egoistic mentality was freely shown to be seen.

Despite her terrifying words, the pink alicorn maintained her big smile, her eyes gleaming with a twisted sense of curiosity. "What's the matter? Why are you slowly walking away?" she inquired innocently, her voice tinged with amusement. Even if she said that, she perfectly knew the reason. It was as if she seemingly enjoyed the spectacle of Dante's discomfort, slightly delighting in the subtle shift in his demeanor.

Dante, with a knot in the throat, began to backpedal away from her without realizing, "Um... I don't think I should tell you what to do but... Um... isn't that quite radical?"

The alicorn shrugged her off without much importance, "I'm just doing what is necessary to survive in the rankings, and don't worry, we are not even the same... You took a different path! Since I transformed into Cadance, I wanted more power, so I searched for the fastest way, and I ended up with this."

Dante's mind whirled at her heartless disregard for morality, "I think we have a misunderstanding with the meaning of the word 'NECESSARY'," he protested weakly, his voice barely above a whisper.

But the alicorn pressed on, her words dripping with a chilling certainty. "Look, I'm not trying to sell you this, and I actually don't recommend it," she continued, "But I could easily crush you with just a simple thought. Power is everything, no matter what you choose or do!"

Her aura began to cover the surrounding area, and laughing out loud for some reason, she began to divert the theme, "Love? That's also a joke. With enough tampering of the soul and a few drugs, I can make you fall in love with anything. Allies? There is no such thing as nemesis or allies. You just offer more benefits that overcome the downsides. But if I were to, I don't know... offer a few dozen millions of gold to your friends, would they still be rational enough to care about bonds? Would they willingly say no?"

Dante was left speechless by the cruel words that exited her mouth; his mind continued agitating him with conflicting emotions. All living beings have inherently written in their code the priority of survival; this is part of what makes them alive! If someone offered him that amount, would he truly backstab his friends for the promise of power and wealth? Was survival at any cost truly worth it?

Seeing how her counterpart was slowly crumbling apart, the alicorn proclaimed exalted, "Just behold the difference in our power."

A tangible pink pressure abruptly enveloped the space, immediately compressing the surroundings into a confined space with alarming speed. The once sprawling cityscape now collapsed upon itself, shrinking to the floor level. Dante stood perplexed, his eyes widening with astonishment at the sheer magnitude of what he saw; He was left without words! but it wasn't destroying the entire city or everything in his field of view. Rather, it was the speed! Dante couldn't even catch on to the speed she compacted the entire city.

Dante looked at it dumbfounded, but even if he knew that he could attain all this power by doing such a thing, while he couldn't deny the allure of such overwhelming power, he couldn't put himself to do that; for him, this isn't him; it's someone who, in his lustful pursuit of power, has lost his way.

Dante took another ticket from his inventory; the alternative, seeing this action, interjected, "You are going so soon? I guess It's hard to comprehend for you but If you are in a pinch remember this route will be always for you. everyone will be under your hooves or you know sleeve... because you actually wasted a point in your looks to be human and, let me remind you that is going to be the most useless thing you ever had done... Looks are utterly useless, they won't stop a sword from cutting your neck when the enemy wants your blood."

Even if, at the start, Dante was extremely shocked to meet such a wild version, he had longed past the barrier of getting mortified for days by such events. He was no longer such a weak-willed individual; perhaps if he had met this version months ago, he would have been traumatized, but now... likely after a few minutes, he will shrug off this experience as a "funny" history.

Dante kept his tense, awkward smile, and then he felt some weight in his hands; the alternative spoke, "A farewell gift... it might help you in a pinch. If you actually use it, come back with me because there is a lot of stuff to explain about this chemical reaction! But only use it if you are going to die, and don't forget to buy upgrades!"

Dante nodded, unsure of how to respond to the gesture. He felt a twinge of gratitude mixed with skepticism, unsure of the motives behind the gift.

True love potion (Version L7):

Crafted through countless experiments and trials, the True Love Potion (Version L7) stood as a testament to the aspect of Aqarath's dedication and skill. Unlike its predecessors, this potion comes with reduced tolerance buildup and no penalties in the body for constant consumption. It was designed for short bursts of authentic emotion. This potion can only be consumed ever once per 11 hours.

(Note: This item won't work unless you are the Aspect Of Aqarath.)

As Dante contemplated the gift, he grabbed another ticket to meet an alternative and prepared to break it at any moment, he exclaimed, "A lie remains a lie, no matter how sweet it tastes."

His counterpart simply shrugged it off, "A fact that isn't actually the truth can become the truth if you twist it enough or say it aloud a lot of times... because, after all, a lie is only a lie if you prove it!

Dante shook his head, "I'm sorry, but I don't think we are in the same boat..." he confessed, his voice trailing off as he struggled to find a common ground with the alternative.

The alternative, with her eyes gleaming in pink, acknowledged his variation; she declared, "Yes, I can see it on your soul,"

Dante confusedly mumbled, "My soul?" now that he thought about it, she specifically said that with the tampering of the soul and drugs, you could fake being in love, and the potion, from what he read, was created by the aspect of Aqarath.

The alternative exclaimed proudly, "Who do you think we are? I created that potion, and many other inventions with my alchemy and soul abilities, It's a strange technique, one we obtained after killing Mahito and discovering the wonders of the soul... after that I obtained more complex one to upgrade myself."

Dante's memories floated back to his brain as he understood the implications of her words, "Wait... didn't we team up with them?"

The alternative confirmed his suspicions with a cold certainty, "Yes... but I betrayed them later..."

Dante after realizing the stark differences between himself and his alternative counterpart, said "Look at that, we are really different after all," he remarked, with a sense of relief flooding through him. "I guess I don't have to fear turning into you!"

Without another word, Dante decisively broke the ticket in his hand; as he watched the remnants of the ticket fall to the ground, he couldn't help but silently hope that he wouldn't encounter another version of himself in the future. "Holy crap, Let's hope the next one isn't insane."

...

Dante murmured to himself, recovering from the teleportation, "Now, Where am I? This place is completely different from the last one..." Dante's voice trailed off as his eyes widened in shock, taking in the scene before him. The air was thick with a sense of decay; the vibrant city from before had transformed into a desolate wasteland, a stark contrast to the bustling city his first alternative had; the buildings were in ruins, their structures crumbling and charred, barely standing afloat, as if some unseen force ravaged them, this coupled with the grim ambiance and dark sky filled the place with a sense of pessimism.

An electrifying tingle assaulted Dante's senses; still without much combat experience with Pinkie Pie's body, he decided to take it as a warning and quickly took measures to protect himself from whatever was placed at the edge of his senses. He quickly took a flag from the USA to cover his body, saying out loud, "DOJAAA~!" it wasn't necessary, but it gave him a better feeling; after all, pinkie pie personality is suppressed, not eliminated.

Taking a tentative step forward, Dante yelled out loud, trying to take the initiative with this alternative, "Hey, it isn't quite nice to hit someone who you don't even know..." But as his gaze settled on the figure before him, his words caught in his throat, his expression frozen in disbelief, "What...?! Why... Are... You... A..."

In many religions across billions of universes, the concept of dualism reigns supreme in many species; this means that for every force of good, there exists its evil counterpart; for every aspect of light, there is a shadow lurking in the depths; wherever there is order creating a path, there is chaos following behind.

And if there is a radical left...

There is a radical right.

If the "Radical left" turned into an alicorn that feeds on artificially created love to empower herself.

What do y'all think "Radical Right" did?
