In The Abyss As A Toon Character

Chapter 79: Chapter 69 F.U.N!

...

...

...

Daniel began to meditate, searching for quietness in the tranquility of his thoughts, yet the serenity of the moment was abruptly shattered by an incessant, sharp, and grating voice that sliced through the air like a knife.

"Hey..."

"Hey!"

"Hey!!"

"HEY!!!"

"HEEEEY!!!!"

Disturbed by the voice, Daniel's patience wore thin as irritation flickered across his face. He rashly yapped with annoyance, "WHAT?!"

Somehow, Dante sat still on the roof, defying all gravity. With a lively grin tugging at the corners of his lips, he playfully waved his hand, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he chimed, "Hello...!!!"

...

...

...

In a burst of frustration and desperation, Dante's voice reverberated through the room, echoing off the walls as he unleashed his last resource: a plea to the heavens or well... the System to be exact, "SYSTEM PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!

The System replied with its usual measured and mechanical voice, "One of your abilities is obstructing the path, please-" But Dante, driven by the urgency of wanting to leave, paid little to no attention to the System's explanation, cutting it off mid-sentence with an angry retort. "JUST DO IT!"

An interminable pause followed that seemed to stretch on for what felt like an eternity. Many questions began forming in his brain, 'Will this give him the answer' 'Why does he know how a cherry-changa tastes even if he hasn't tasted one' 'Why does toast always fall butter side down?' 'why did the chicken cross the road?' ''Is nothing something then if nothing if something, nothing isn't nothing.' Then, finally, the System replied with, "Teleporting..."

Relief flooded Dante's entire essence; a rush of euphoria coursed through him like a tidal wave as he felt the familiar sensation of being teleported. He exclaimed, his voice brimming with triumph and anticipation, "FINALLY!

Everything around him seemed to shimmer with an ethereal beauty. The air felt charged with possibility, the streets alive with the hustle and bustle of unfamiliar faces, the menacingly giant dark mech that fastly dashed in his direction with a weapon in hand, the design of the streets...

As Dante took his first hesitant step forward, his world instantly shifted once more; the familiar surroundings of the small room enveloped him again in their suffocating embrace.

Defeated and dejected, Dante stood on the ground, posing like Yamcha; he stood motionless for 1 minute till he decided to get up from the weight of disappointment, but as he mustered enough strength to get up, his movements were accompanied by the recognizable sound of the Transformers with every action he did.

Daniel quipped, with a hint of sarcastic amusement coloring his tone as he watched Dante's bizarre display. "Welcome back again. What was that?"

Dante, with pent-up frustration, shook his head in exasperation. "I don't know! I don't know! I don't know! I don't make these wacky sounds. They just appear whenever I do something... "

Dante's hoarse voice trembled with a mix of exhaustion and exasperation as he frantically yelled, "I BEEN TRYING TO COPE WITH THEM SINCE I GOT THIS FORM AND EMBRACE THEM BUT IT'S STILL TOO-!!!"

Daniel, trying something new to calm him down with some sarcasm, replied at his outburst, "So they just magically appear?" To which Dante, almost forgetting about the mental break he had seconds earlier, began jumping, hearing the sound of a trampoline, and joyfully replied, "Yeah! Funny, isn't it?"

Daniel's eyes continued analyzing his friend, to be exact, the aura surrounding him, reminding him a bit of the Rarity transformation and her OCD, murmuring under his breath, "Why am I feeling a deja vu?"

...

...

...

Daniel's frustration was evident in his tone, which was between a mix of pain and incredulity, from the stupid situation he got himself into, "I can't believe we have to sleep here because you don't know how to use your ability."

Dante bounced around the room in small hops; his movements were animated and erratic, bringing joy into the room, yet not even this infectious fun affected Daniel. It actually appeared to be doing the opposite.

Dante replied, "Me neither! And wanna know the wo-oooorst?" His voice rose with emphasis, "I don't find the idea of sleeping interesting right now! For some unknown reason, I'm in a hyperactive state! Tho it's not unknown! is the transformation! but it never specified I will have this! it just said that her personality was-"

Daniel, not wanting to deal with this frenetic player, interrupted him to give him some advice, "Just think of a black screen," he instructed, with his words slow and deliberate. "Forget about your body; slowly but steadily blackout your body, with calm and serenity. Empty your mind. Just focus on the black screen. Nothing... else... matters..."

"Keep looking at the black screen..."

"A black... screen...."

...

...

...

"I CAN'T" he yelled while his mind refused to comply with the serene image Daniel painted to help him sleep. Daniel, undeterred by Dante's outburst, calmly urged him, "Relax your body..."

"Okay," Dante replied, his tone resigned as he made an attempt to heed Daniel's advice.

In a sudden move, Daniel grabbed Dante by the neck and twisted it without any remorse; the sound of cracking bones filled the room, and Daniel said with relief, "There you go!"

Dante's head, while being rotated 180 degrees, replied in a rush, "Um... My body doesn't work by that logic anymore! Actually, I don't work with any logic! Because our difference in strength is too much, yet you somehow managed to crack my neck, that means that-"

Undeterred by Dante's protest, Daniel grabbed him like an object, effortlessly moving him toward the closet meanwhile Dante continued his explanation of the toon force. With a swift motion, he launched Dante with all his might towards the door hoping that the interaction would work as planned.

The second Dante exited the door, he found himself back in the closet once more; but the closest was in front of the door so this process increased his momentum, trapping him in an infinite loop of speed and spins.

"W"

"H"

"A"

"T!?"

Dante's voice could barely be heard, as at maximum, he could muster one letter at a time, and a mixture of excitement and panic accompanied them.

Daniel, not wanting to deal with this ordeal any longer, mumbled, "You can't sleep? Then enjoy an infinite loop because I actually need to sleep..."

"H"

"E"

"L"

"P"

...

...

...

In the midst of the room, a girl with extensive fluffy pink hair burst forth with uncontrolled enthusiasm, her voice echoing off the walls as she announced her return to the confined space, "WE'RE BACK! AND WE'RE DRUNK!"

With a few energetic stretches to shake off the residual effects of being on an infinite loop-nap, the girl's attention turned towards Daniel's asleep figure.

Observing him with a mixture of incredulity and amusement, she couldn't help but comment, "You're using your sleeping time to... actually sleep??? What a weird guy!" she queried, inching closer until her face was mere inches from his just to menacingly stare his face, murmuring "Should we wake you up? But how? Cold water..? Too simple! A loud explosion? Nah-"

After discarding at least 10 methods that would kill a normal human, an awkward pause that seemed to stretch on indefinitely created, she attempted to wake him with a gentle whisper, "Hey! *Psst* Are you there? We've deemed it's enough time!"

As Daniel remained steadfastly asleep, oblivious to the chaos unfolding around him, the girl grabbed a balloon and began inflating it with a mischievous glint in her eyes. With each puff of air, the balloon swelled until it reached its full capacity.

But just as she was about to pop it, a restraining hand stopped her, Daniel's irritated voice cut through the room with a tired yawn. "Get off me and don't do that..." Already annoyed from being woken up, angrily babbled to the over-enthusiastic player in front of him, "Since when have you been there?"

The girl fell silent and began counting in her head, quickly replied with her usual mischievous grin, which was making Daniel nauseous, "We stopped counting after 4140 cherry-changas,"

Daniel, still grappling with the remnants of his grogginess, found himself trying to understand this new eccentricity. He yelled, "What in the world are cherry-changas?"

Undeterred by Daniel's bewilderment, with a shrug of her shoulders, the girl confessed, "We're not quite sure, but it's in our head now."

Daniel, perplexed by the peculiarities in his friend's way of talking, asked for more clarification, "Our?"

A comically oversized yellow question mark materialized above the girl's head, her expression mirroring her perplexion as she questioned, "Did we pronounce something funny?"

Daniel sighed, bemused by the situation, "No... just a weird choice of linguistic idiosyncrasies." Before Daniel could say anything else, he realized that he was being dragged down against his will; a sense of urgency and excitement radiated from the girl, evident in every step she took.

She hummed a cheerful tune, the melody weaving through the air around her, setting a lively rhythm to every movement. "Let's head to a recreation area and spar. We're dying to do something, and we've got to enjoy the fullest of every moment!"

The sound of instruments gradually joined Dante's humming, melding together to form a harmonious melody that echoed through the surroundings.

With each beat, Dante's energy seemed to amplify his infectious enthusiasm, "I've got so much energy coursing through me, I feel like I could explode~!"

The girl's eyes sparkled with uncontainable excitement; she gasped for a big chunk of air, then joyfully intoned, "♫I~♫" her voice, brimming with childlike glee and joy, was abruptly cut off as Daniel exasperatedly interrupted, "I swear that..." He growled, his words lacing with annoyance, "-I am going to explode my head if you don't shut up your song."

The music abruptly ceased, and the girl turned to Daniel with a resigned expression, unwittingly relenting, "Fine."

Just as the last melody faded away, a new one took its place. Its lively tempo, coupled with the enthusiastic tune that filled the air around them, quickly prompted Daniel to stare with dead eyes at his friend while his usual blue aura began enveloping him.

The girl quickly reassured him, yelling with urgency. "I'm not the one making that music!" her hands poised defensively to shield her, "I took your threat seriously."

Daniel's confusion deepened as he scanned their surroundings, trying to locate the source of the music. "Then where is it coming from?"

"Maybe from... THERE!" Dante aimed his finger to the right, where many players were celebrating a type of festivity. The clothes looked similar to the Asian ones, but the mix and differences between all of them were big enough to say they weren't Japanese, Chinese, or Korean.

Daniel's brow furrowed in confusion as he turned back to Dante. "What-" Dante, Already knowing what he was going to ask, replied, "Not idea, but it seems fun!"

Before he could continue to say anything else, an unfamiliar female voice spoke from behind, confirming Dante's suspicions. "And it is!"

------------

These two last chapters ended up being too long!

The pinkie stuff will end really soon, so don't worry; he won't always act like that!

Fun Fact: When I created the dynamic of Dante (Pinkie Pie) and Daniel, I first imagined them as an apathetic dad and an over-enthusiastic daughter.

Sadly, this is a fighting fic, so this personality needs to be controlled!
