Chapter 63: Chapter 54 Fushiguro Part 1

The station quaked as Toji relentlessly rushed at Dante, shaking the floor with his strength. Dante, anticipating the impending collision, decided to not create momentum to keep with him; he got in combat position and received the hit with both swords with unwavering determination.

Toji quickly realized the difference in strength. The girl's power almost doubled in an instant, now being on equal terms. Yet even if Dante now matched his strength, it wasn't enough... He still had a long way to go. This was, nonetheless, a deadly dance for Dante.

Toji's bloodlust permeated the air. Every single piece of the place was quickly invaded by his terrifying presence, overwhelming and blurring Dante's perception, making it so he totally focused on the looming threat.

In the midst of their clash, Dante couldn't help but offer a mocking response to Toji's unnecessary ferocity. He quipped, his words laced with a hint of amusement. "What? Are you showing off now?"

Before Dante could finish his sentence, a sudden move behind him caught him off-guard; the old sorcerer, seizing the opportunity, used Toji as a distraction to his advantage. Dante was stunned by this; Toji's bloodlust made him focus way too much on blocking his attack.

He didn't know what the unknown sorcerer could do, but Mahito could kill him if he touched him for too long, so he needed to act with a lot of caution. Dante thought from the precarious situation. "So it wasn't just a mere show." With a thunderous roar, Dante yelled, "DAGON!!!!"

A ring of water rushed at his position, to protect him, accompanied by a few fishes of different sizes with sawed teeth. Seeing this, I said, "Try to keep the ring. That's all I need..."

Dante got into combat position, but an overwhelming omen coursed through him. Sensing how a powerful attack was about to appear in Toji's position, with lighting reflexes, Dante gave a small jump by kicking him, retreating with the knockback for the kick.

Powerful flames engulfed Toji's position, the intense heat licking at the air with a searing ardor that narrowly managed to burn his left arm. With the sound of blood dripping from his face, Dante commented, "Hey, took you long enough."

Jogo's voice cut through the fiery chaos, "Hanami will come at any moment."

Dante's lips curled into a wry smile as he turned to face Jogo. "And you haven't fully restored... right?" he inquired, his voice laced with a hint of skepticism.

Jogo nodded somberly, acknowledging the weakness of his current state.

Unlike Dante, whose only limitations were primarily physical and mental, a sorcerer has a 3rd weakness... Cursed energy... This potent force was not limitless and required time to replenish, and it might take even weeks to fully recuperate; Jogo's technique of burning the air was extremely crude and consumed tons of energy, leaving him in this state.

Dante whispered to his allies, "Don't worry, I'll go aggressive, capitalize on openings, or help me whenever he takes the advantage, "

Like a lion pouncing on its prey, Dante propelled himself forward with a burst of strength, leaping onto him, their clash resuming in a whirlwind of blows in hopes of breaking his underlying defense.

Despite his efforts, Toji seemed impervious to Dante's attacks. His defenses stood impenetrable. He continued to press forward with relentless force, driving Dante back with each blow.

Before Toji or the sorcerers could seize an opportunity, a powerful pillar of fire erupted from the ground with blinding speed. Toji, with his reflexes honed by his combat experience, narrowly evaded the inferno. His movements were swift and fluid; if not because of his incredible speed, he would be already dead.

Dante turned around just to see Jogo chanting. He was using the most of this preparation time, and the person in front of him was, without a problem, on equal terms to a special-grade sorcerer, Jogo needed the fastest and strongest attacks so they worked.

After seeing that no one made the first move and the more Jogo chanted to enhance his technique, the worse it was for his enemies, Toji and the sorcerers acted first, but to be exact, it was Toji and the sorcerers supporting how they could without tangling too much in the fight.

The black-haired boy entirely concentrated on strategically using the bunnies as trampolines for Toji so he could match him in the air; Dante ended up being forced to play in the ground because the number of bunnies didn't seem to have an end.

As Dante fought to break through Toji's resilient defense, the chaotic battle unfurled. Random fishes attacked Toji from undefended angles, followed by Jogo's intense flames trying to tire him more.

Dante gracefully danced through the attacks of Jogo and Dagon while he attacked; there was the threat of Jogo or Dagon missing and hitting Dante, but it was a bet they had to take.

The combined firepower and their coordinated assaults were proving to be enough to defeat the tenacious human. Toji, surprising everyone, skillfully tangled Playful Cloud in Dante's arm; he grabbed him as a meat shield, positioning him in front of the curses attack; Dante received the searing heat of the fire blast and the blunt force of the water blast.

With his skin scorched, As pain seared through Dante's body, his vision blurred momentarily. Blood dripped from his body, mingling with sweat that trickled from his battered state.

Toji stopped gripping Dante, but to his astonishment, Dante was now gripping him tightly; The girl hardly managed to babble, "Don't think you'll go out with nothin' but a scratch from this."

Dante grabbed some momentum and headbutted Toji with a force that sent shockwaves reverberating through both their bodies. Both of their foreheads began bleeding, with Dante stunned from the hit. He slowly backpedaled from the scene.

Before Toji can even think of recovering from the bash, Dante gritted his teeth and seized the opportunity, his trembling hands reaching for his sword. With a swift motion, he aimed for Toji's closest vital point, striking with all the strength he could muster.

After successfully injuring his enemy, Dante flapped his wings and got away from the scene. Before he could even catch his breath for a second round, an orange-brown bird with a mask rushed at him, followed by a scream, "NUE!"

Dante got in position to take the bird head-on; the strength of the Shikigami shouldn't be remarkable, thought Dante. "Probably just to get time... No... I recognize this sensation."

With his pupils dilatating, Dante yelled fiercely, "DAGOOOON!!!" Dagon quickly turned to Dante to hear him desperately yell, "DEACTIVATE THE WATER RING, NOW!!!"
