Chapter 56: Chapter 48 HELLO THERE!!!
Jogo, Hanami, Choso, and Mahito stood in anticipation at the bustling train station, surrounded by a few lesser cursed spirits and a large crowd of humans. Who were completely unaware of the situation unfolding in front of them, oblivious to the danger that lurked.
Mahito was the first to speak. He looked at Jogo with a skeptical expression. "Are you sure it will work? The train will be here in a few minutes, and I couldn't turn everyone into transfigured humans because you wanted me to be here."
Jogo's expression didn't falter as he replied, "he needs to believe we are actually trying to kill him, and unless his domain works differently or he instantly kills me, then we won't use the Gokumonkyō."
There were a lot of humans beside them, yet the only purpose they served was a temporal buffer to stop him from using his lethal cursed techniques. They knew that Gojo was cold, but he still valued human lives, and he would hesitate to harm them. They hoped to use that to their advantage with their first plan.
They had three plans in place, but the main one would be useless if either Jogo or Raida died too early. If any of the last conditions were met, then the second plan would be enacted. It consisted of tiring Satoru Gojo and calling a train full of transfigured humans to act as a buffer to gain even more time. With Gojo tired, they would easily be able to seal him. The third plan involved Sukuna's fingers, but they didn't tell Dante much about it, and it was a last resource.
As Gojo arrived at the train station, he surveyed the chaos that the four cursed spirits in front of him had caused. He saw the people running and screaming, everyone trying to desperately use their phones and dead bodies. He sighed, shaking his head. "No excuses if you lose this time again, okay?" he commented with a hint of amusement.
Suddenly, Hanami used her cursed technique, causing the earth to tremble beneath her. With a swift wave of her hand, she unleashed a violent torrent of vines that snaked their way across the station, sealing the entire area in a dense brushwood of vegetation.
The air was thick with the scent of earth and greenery, and the only sounds were the rustling of leaves, the soft whispers of the wind, and the confused screams of the non-sorcerers.
The tension in the air was palpable as the four cursed spirits prepared to face off against the most powerful sorcerer in the world. They knew they had to work together, or they would stand no chance.
Gojo yawned, seeing how they blocked his escape route. He casually said, "Don't bother; I'll not go anywhere." He was confident in his abilities and also curious to see what they had planned. He had fought them before. Adding more curses to the mix will just make his job of finding them easier.
As Jogo and Hanami rushed towards Satoru Gojo, using domain amplification in their bodies, Satoru quickly noticed their plan. He stood there, seemingly unfazed by their attack. A small smirk graced his face as he commented, "Well... I'm surprised."
Jogo, taken aback by his reaction, was about to respond with a mocking comment, but he quickly stopped himself and asked a simple yet curious question, "Why?"
Satoru fixed his gaze on the cursed spirits; even if he had a blindfold, they could feel his piercing, deathly eyes locked onto them.
The words that escaped his lips were filled with a venomous and dark tone, "I'm surprised you think you could beat me using your sorry excuse for a brain."
Gojo aimed his finger at Hanami, sending a sense of dread over them. "Hey 'weed', you are going first-"
With a cunning smile, Jogo interrupted him, "I knew this wasn't going to be enough, so I prepared a new plan." He began incantating, "By the flame and fury of the sun, I call upon the scorching winds of the inferno..."
Normally, sorcerers minimize the time needed to chant without losing much power. This is one of the primary factors that decide their combat power, but everyone can still chant the whole incantation to get the 100% possible out of it. Jogo was willing to take that risk, as he knew that this was his only chance to defeat Gojo.
Satoru, with his six eyes, quickly realized what Jogo's technique aimed for. But he didn't expect the curse to use such a scientific and special way to use his technique. He casually yelled at him, "I won't let you finish that."
Hanami got in his way, and the domain amplification made it tedious, while Choso and Mahito supported her so she didn't instantly die. The three cursed spirits moved fluidly and coordinated in unison. They continued attacking Gojo from different angles, trying to distract him and delay him as much as possible.
Jogo continued his incantation without much problem, "Rise up and blaze forth with all your might. Ignite the very air and scorch the earth beneath our feet with light."
A semi-barrier was cast near them, and the oxygen began burning at an incredibly fast pace, changing everything to C02. The ordinary persons who hyperventilated and screamed began feeling the consequences of this technique. They felt dizzy, nauseous, and suffocated. Collapsing on the ground, clutching their throats and gasping for air.
"Now tell me, Satoru Gojo, what will you do? We don't need oxygen, and now you are ticking against the clock. In a few minutes, you'll die with all the humans here from intoxication, And your Reverse Cursed Technique is useless."
Satoru Gojo stood still for a second. In his mind, a whole rethinking and plan went in his head. Using any technique needs an incantation in simple words; it meant wasting precious oxygen, so he could only chant a few techniques before running out of options.
He reached up to remove the blindfold placed over his eyes. As the fabric slipped away, his piercing blue eyes revealed, and the world seemed to slow down.
The station's bright lights shone down upon him, casting a warm glow across his face. Gojo lifted his hands into a seal position, his fingers curled into a familiar shape, and cursed energy began flowing.
The curses were slightly caught off guard as they wondered in unison, "Is he going to really do it this quickly?"
...
"Domain expansion: Immeasurable Void."
Gojo knew that this was an all-or-nothing bet, but he had to take it. He decided to expand his domain for only 0.2 seconds. The logic behind this was: 'Waiting too long would kill all the non-sorcerers,' so Satoru decided to just kill them fast with his domain. He is strongest, after all, and these cursed spirits couldn't kill him even in their dreams.
As the domain finished expanding, Gojo felt a shiver run down his spine. The air was thick with the scent of smoke and ash, and he felt an overwhelming feeling of deja vu wash over him. It was as if he had been in a similar situation before.
Right now, he just used his domain. The curses, who were the main threats, were already neutralized, and nothing should be capable of damaging him, even if it bypassed his domain.
Gojo couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling that something was amiss. Despite his six eyes' enhanced ability to capture details that not even first-grade sorcerers could, he couldn't pinpoint anything specific that was causing his unease.
However, suddenly, his instincts activated and screamed at him of danger. Every muscle in his body tensed, and he became acutely aware of his surroundings. Every sound was amplified, and every movement magnified. He could feel the very beat of his heart, and his breath became shallow.
He recognized this sensation, and he hadn't felt it since his youth.
Before he could even turn his neck around to look behind him, Gojo caught a glimpse of something with the corner of his eye. A flash of steel accompanied by a blue blur approached him at an alarming speed, but what caught his attention was that he recognized that flash of steel all too well. It was the inverted spear of heaven, an object that once threatened his life.
"It should be broken, so why is it here?" thought Gojo.
His face remained calm and composed, but he was extremely shocked at seeing these two oddities together again: A weapon and a human that shouldn't exist.
With sword in hand, A girl with vibrant rainbow hair and a pair of shiny wings propelled herself to his position at an unbelievable speed, muttering with a smile, "Hello there!"
