Chapter 105: Chapter 95 It's funny how, in an instant, life can take a 360 turn...
Katley's world became a blur of motion and agony as she slammed into tree after tree with sickening thuds. The first impact rattled her insides, and when she finally slammed into the ground, the force knocked the wind from her lungs, leaving her gasping and disoriented.
Blood trickled from her shattered jaw, with the lower half of her face being grotesquely torn apart, having her raw flesh exposed to the biting cold. 'Shit... It wasn't anything special, just pure energy and pure power concentrated in one hit.'
Thanks to Katley's passive abilities, the deadly wound painfully threaded itself together, but even as the lethal wound closed, it wasn't enough. Not nearly enough. In the distance, she could see a streak of destructive pink light hurtling toward her with terrifying speed.
Distress clawed at her, and she screamed into the silence, "INTERPRETATION! UNDERSTANDING!" Her voice didn't sound human or natural; it couldn't be, not with her jaw shattered like it was. Instead, it came from a modulator implanted in her mouth, a failsafe she never expected to actually use.
'Now I can converse with myself without having to worry about getting blitzed.' The first step was having her thoughts accelerate so that she would always have a solution, and for that, she erased the concepts related to time perception in such a special way that it forced reality to bend to her will.
In the distance, blue, blank, heart-shaped eyes glowed with utter menace, leaving a trail of impending doom as Dante's presence permeated the air with strong bloodlust.
Behind the pink blur, trees splintered, and the ground trembled, creating a giant crater whenever he stepped on the ground to grab even more momentum.
Katley's defenses kicked in, with new layers of reinforced concepts enveloping her like a second skin. She had faced countless threats before, but nothing like this. As Dante's attack closed in, the cold realization that her renewed defenses were about to fail became more imminent. 'Ha... so it wasn't me just not being ready.'
To comprehend the grim exhilaration of Katley, she is supposed to be untouchable in 3 different ways.
The first barrier is a constant shield of "infinity," which was supposed to make her untouchable. Any attack that came her way would vanish into the void, traveling endlessly through an empty, meaningless space.
The second barrier, "directions," was designed to warp the trajectory of any attack. It twisted and turned the path of any strike, ensuring that no blow would ever reach her, even if they could get past infinity.
The third and final barrier, "probability," was supposed to be her last line of defense. It bent the laws and physics of the universe to protect her, altering reality itself to ensure the safety of the queen. But Dante's toon force and new power sliced through all of them like they didn't exist.
A bitter smile tugged at Katley's bloodied lips as she realized the gravity of the situation. 'Only five players that I have ever met could break through these defenses,' she mused as her thoughts raced. 'Guess this now makes it six..'
Katley tried to gain some distance, but then, with a cold look, Dante summoned a striking heart-shaped pistol that materialized in his hand. He aimed it directly at Katley's head, murmuring with a chilling intent, "Laser of Vindictive Emotions."
The sound of the trigger was nearly imperceptible, but the aftermath-- oh, the aftermath-- it was a deafening burst of energy that shredded everything in its way.
From the gun's barrel, a massive beam of pink energy streamed with malevolent black glimmers shot forward. It instantly devoured all the lights and placed all the attention on it.
With the deadly laser mere inches from her face, Katley instinctively responded, "PERCEPTION! SPEED!"
Reality shattered around her. The world suddenly fragmented into a million pieces, with each shard reflecting a distorted version of this world. For a second, everything was cast in a stark, inverted black and white.
The monochromatic landscape gave her a brief break, slowing the beam just enough for her to evade, but it wasn't nearly enough. Katley had to take this enemy seriously, and the usage of more than seven concepts in a fight was already a testament to that.
*Crack*
Seeing how her world was breaking apart, she couldn't help but muse in her free mental time, 'Right, you have that reality-breaking bullshit... I wonder how much it can take until I overpower it...'
As the world cracked, a dark aura enveloped the pink girl. Without warning, Dante lunged forward, but Katley wasn't having any of that.
"Distance"
Instead of enlarging the distance between the hit and her by creating an infinity, she decided to erase the distance between her and a faraway destination.
"IDENTITY! MEMORIES!" Her hopes were to confuse the enemy by blurring the "self" from reality and blurring who and why they fought; this usually worked when someone carried a really strong body but weak mind; you just had to blur who they were, but what came out of the aspect's mouth destroyed any hopes.
Dante's voice, devoid of emotion, cut through the chaos, "I don't know who I am... nor why I want to kill you... The only thing I know for real is that..."
"I'm gonna kill you."
"You fucking cocky bitch, I think you're getting carried away by," But that's when she realized something threatening; the thing in front of her was a cardboard version of the girl, Katley quickly turned around just in time to intercept Dante's punch, but the force behind it was overwhelming. "What... The... Shape! Consistency!"
A metaphorical giant slash tore through Dante, splitting him into twisted, bizarre forms. His body bent and contorted, trying to exist in ways it shouldn't. Before Dante could even adapt to the attack, the two halves of his body glitched, growing back into two separate Dante's.
One Dante wielded a glowing pink-dark scythe, while the other brandished a black scythe crackling with pink lightning. And with a serrated monster-like smile, both locked eyes on Katley, suffocating the place with a sense of hazardness.
With a violent kick, Both clones launched themselves into the air, accelerating toward Katley at a speed that defied any logic. Moreover, the ground where they had stood erupted in a massive explosion, leaving a large crater even if they weren't touching the ground.
'Clones...?' Katley, who was hovering in the air by erasing the distance between herself and the ground, stared at the two Dantes in shock. But even as the situation escalated, Katley kept her composure.
With a composed voice, she with a grin on her face, "If you think I'm gonna play in the same field... Probability! Sequences! Time!"
Before Dante realized... His body was a wreck. Brutal cuts, bruises, and gaping holes disfigured his form; his trembling legs barely held him upright. The tendons and muscles beneath his skin were severely shredded, his white bones battered and cracked, blending with the exposed flesh in a visceral, horrifying mess.
*Bleugh*
His legs were slick with blood, with blood pooling on the ground, and his body was threatening to give out, but he refused to collapse. Dante's state was beyond desperate-- if not for the 'fake love' patching his wounds with an almost unnatural speed and 'hate' knitting together broken bones and torn flesh that love couldn't-
"you should be nothing more than a lifeless pile of mush on the ground... That's an amazing regeneration, I wonder if it's the toon force." Katley commented casually as she munched what appeared to be a strange cake.
The world slowed even more inside Katley's mind, 'I was sure that would be enough to knock her out. Well, at least I tried a few artifacts with her body to see how effective they were...'
Dante didn't answer. His throat was too damaged to even mutter unintelligible sounds, so instead, he vanished, teleporting behind Katley in a heartbeat.
Seeing him in slow motion, thanks to her now, ready for combat mind, she mumbled, "Symmetry!"
A strange sword materialized in Katley's hand, pulling it from the system with a fluid motion. Her eyes locked onto her enemy as she changed her stance with a predatory intensity. "You scared me for life for a second... but then I recalled, what the hell? I'm a limit breaker; I do this every Tuesday!"
Katley doesn't usually fight in close combat quarters, as it isn't her role. Her ability is more than enough on 99.99% of the occasions, but sadly, that 0.01% has appeared to pester her at this moment.

Authors note:
Well when someone is speaking in '' is probably Katley, the world is super slow for her, and if she were to speak, either is to taunt and get a tactical advantage or activate her power mid-sentence trying to hide whatever she did.
Also... Sorry for updating so slowly
I have to present at the university, and it is taking a lot of my free time. ):
Uh...
As a fun thing to do as you leave, try to imagine what things are possible with Katley's ability.
She can erase concepts from existence, and it works in 3 different ways (She gets to decide)
You erase it, and the world tries to fix it with another thing.
You erase and change it in a way that helps you.
You erase it, and it stops existing.
