Chapter 55: Chapter 55: This Cat Drawing Looks So Lifelike
After following the system's advice, Li Huan realized how he should strengthen himself next.
The system recommended several advanced-level skills, but Li Huan couldn't afford them at the moment. However, this wasn't a problem—once they drove out of Thousand Feathers Academy, he would have more Joy Points.
Li Huan had accumulated around 300 Joy Points so far, thanks to various funny actions he had taken.
Once the main storyline task was completed, his Joy Points would likely increase significantly, allowing him to purchase the skills recommended by the system. But that was a matter for later.
"Tom!"
After finishing his own tasks, Li Huan frowned and shouted at Tom, who was still snacking lazily. Upon hearing the call, Tom immediately discarded the snacks and hurried to stand at attention in front of Li Huan.
"You've had enough rest. It's time to work."
Li Huan pointed to the bus. "Transform that into a super RV that combines accommodation, dining, bathing, and combat. I know you can do it."
Tom looked puzzled at Li Huan's command.
"Just take it literally. Didn't you transform that steel thing into a go-kart before?" Li Huan pointed at the bus. "I think this kind of problem is child's play for you. I want it done by tonight. Can you do it?"
Tom, with his paws on his chin and mouth half-open, looked as if he couldn't believe it. However, Li Huan's stern look made it clear that he was serious. Although Li Huan didn't say anything, Tom's little brain started working overtime, imagining the punishment he might face if he failed to transform the bus.
He pictured himself not getting to eat while Li Huan and the others enjoyed a feast, leaving him starving on the floor.
He thought, "No, this cannot happen! My cat life cannot be such a failure!"
In reality, Li Huan had no intention of punishing Tom even if he didn't finish the work tonight. Tom immediately assumed a serious military stance, saluted, and then dashed to the storage room to begin his task.
While Tom was busy with his work, Li Huan took out the sleeping bag he had snatched from the supermarket and lay it on the ground, then climbed in and closed his eyes. With the constant zombie crises, fights with law-enforcers, and battles with lolis and robots, he was exhausted and needed a good rest.
Li Huan fell asleep almost immediately, snoring loudly.
Meanwhile, Tom pulled out a large blackboard from the storage room, hung a blueprint on it, and sat down with glasses and a pencil to work on the drawing.
About ten minutes later, the Bug Sprout Duck trio returned to the parking lot with their bags.
"We're back—" Kiana started to greet but saw Li Huan asleep in the sleeping bag, so she lowered her voice.
"This guy just fell asleep like this," Kiana frowned and whispered, "What time is it now…"
"If Mr. Li says his stamina is like a normal person's," Mei said understandingly, "then after such a long period of exhaustion, it's okay for him to rest."
"Yeah, I guess so," Kiana thought about it and gave up on waking Li Huan.
"Bronya notices that the cat seems to still be working," Bronya pointed to Tom, who was drawing on the blackboard. "It looks like it's working on some blueprints."
The three girls moved closer to observe, but they were stunned by what they saw. Tom, wearing glasses, was meticulously sketching on the blueprint. The drawing was intricate and complex, yet it exuded an artistic flair. Even a layperson could see how exquisite and masterful it was.
"What is this? Mei, I don't understand it at all," Kiana said, her eyes spinning. The blueprint was beyond her comprehension.
"I don't understand either," Mei said with a complex expression. "My physics isn't good, and I'm not a mechanical expert…"
"Bronya can understand some of it," Bronya spoke up. "Although many parts are unclear, it seems to be a blueprint for a vehicle."
"It appears to be a super combat vehicle with multiple functions… but honestly, many parts are unclear in terms of their principles…"
As they were guessing, Tom finished the final strokes. He looked at the blueprint, stretched, yawned, then put down the pencil and hopped off the chair to head towards the tools.
Once Tom left, they were able to closely examine the entire blueprint.
"Hmm, this blueprint is really well done," Kiana commented dryly—her limited vocabulary could only express such praise.
"Yes, it's quite good," Mei said, pointing to a part of the drawing. "Look at this simple drawing of a cat and people—it really resembles them."
In that part, Tom had drawn a simple cat and four little figures: a flat-top, twin-tail, black straight hair, and twin-diamond head, which clearly represented Li Huan and the three girls. Although the style was simplistic, the figures and the cat seemed almost lifelike.
"This artwork would be fit for an exhibition at the Louvre," Mei said, placing her finger on the simple cat drawing. "I even thought this cat might come to life."
Suddenly, Mei felt a light tap on her hand. She looked and saw the simple cat drawing on the blueprint had used its paw to tap her hand. The cat drawing blinked at Mei, as if asking, "Why are you touching me?"
A chill ran down the three girls' spines.
