Chapter 26.1
Isaac had things he hated most in the world.
First were the gods (the divine faction), second were those who followed the gods, and third were those who interrupted him when he was drinking.
So, in essence, he despised arrogant individuals who acted superior and ruined others’ fun, and this guy encompassed all three categories.
Especially alcohol!
Even though he couldn’t eat, drink, or even feel, pouring alcohol over his head and experiencing vicarious satisfaction was the Skeleton King’s only pleasure.
At that point, one might think it’s simply disinfecting a corpse, but to Isaac, that alone was happiness.
But in this life, finally! He had experienced something akin to drunkenness.
As if it wasn’t enough that he was treated like a baby, kept away from alcohol. This jerk tried to stop him?
‘This damned pope-like bastard.’
Strength surged into Isaac’s tightly clenched fist.
And this coward, fearing someone might not recognize him as a priest, used the ‘Disarmament’ spell in such a low manner?
‘Disarmament’ was a spell that forced external energies, weapons, buffs, and even ‘status conditions’ recognized as armaments, out of an opponent’s body.
While the spell was active, one wouldn’t just be disarmed but would be in a perfectly fine state.
But to use such a cowardly tactic?
Damn it, if he goes through with this, he’ll even lose the poison he’d hidden to consume secretly!
Not to mention, he won’t even be able to get drunk as the alcohol effect would dissipate!
Isaac’s eyes blazed with fury, his fist clenched.
Just let them try to cross the line.
Then, regardless of family or rank, he’d obliterate them.
Upon seeing Isaac’s expression, Shuri panicked and quickly lifted him.
“No! Don’t do it!”
To the onlookers, it seemed like Shuri was trying to protect Isaac.
The children smirked.
“Wow, looking after your own kind?”
“Do you really think you can match the Pope’s household? Do you think you can protect him?”
“…!”
You crazy bastards!
I’m not trying to protect him; I’m trying to protect you!
Shuri felt like he was being dragged to an outhouse every day, like a donkey.
‘You have no idea just how filthy his personality is!’
If a kid deserved it, or showed even the slightest resistance, he’d immediately retaliate! Blackmail!
Not to mention his capabilities!
The only edge Shuri had over Isaac was the number of spells he’d learned. So, employing every spell he knew, he’d tried to teach him some manners, but!
– Dayayaya? (Like he’s the one to teach anyone)!
Already, over twenty of his spells had been stolen. And the stolen spells were used only to threaten him.
It’s as if the soul of a foul-tempered demon king had entered the body of a baby.
That’s why Shuri whispered to Isaac.
“Stay still, and I’ll give you something good.”
Yeah, right, Buzz. No matter what you offer, I’m not falling for it.
Not even if you offer gold.
Especially since the opponent was the infuriating grandson of the Pope.
The gods’ top lackeys were the ones picking a fight first, and the Demon King wasn’t generous enough to just stand by and watch…
“I’ll bring you chocolate secretly, without your uncle knowing.”
Fine, for what it’s worth, I’ll take the bait.
Having been denied snacks because he was an infant, Isaac immediately relaxed his fist.
Seeing this, Shuri sighed in relief….
Whoosh!
“!!?”
But there was no rest, as he was struck in the stomach by Isaac and doubled over.
‘Damn it…. this little…!’
He thought the fist had been withdrawn, but it had been directed at him!
Damn, it hurts. It hurts so badly, but strangely, I feel like I’m getting stronger.
However, the Demon King, who had generously injected surplus divine power, just dusted off his hands.
That’s right. It’s better to upgrade Buzz with the power rather than waste it on a nemesis.
That way, Buzz would be able to carry him for longer runs from the treasure storage.
That’s why Isaac spat in front of Kina Berit.
“Dya. Dayaya (You should consider yourself lucky).”
“?”
Then, he mercilessly turned and crawled away.
“Dayayay (If you and your grandpa look alike, this wouldn’t be the end of it).”
“???”
Kina Berit could only watch Isaac in disbelief.
What’s with him?
Soon, as Isaac was about to spit at the henchmen, they grabbed him by the nape.
“How does Eshua teach manners!”
“Hey! Tie him up here! Make sure he doesn’t get into the treasure vault!”
But it was at that moment.
“Stop!”
“!”
The children were startled by the powerful voice, as if it had the force of a wall.
Adults had appeared at the entrance of the treasure vault where only children had been.
They were the elders and seniors from Eshua.
They furrowed their brows fiercely.
“Why are the candidates clumped together? Did you fight?”
The brats hurriedly pretended to embrace Isaac.
“No way! We were, um, greeting each other…!”
“He’s so cute, so…”
They were facing the elders and seniors of Eshua. If it was revealed that they tried to harm someone from the Eshua family, they didn’t know what kind of disadvantage they might face.
The elder of Eshua could tell at a glance that something had happened, but chose not to make an issue of it.
After all, a Saint is a being who will become a holy person, just like the Saintess.
Someone can’t help but expect help.
Of course, they might have intervened if it had happened to Shuri.
‘There’s no grudge against Isaac, but Shuri should rise above a powerless Isaac.’
No, in the first place, would a baby even have a chance of bringing out a treasure?
But if he gets hurt in the treasure vault, it will only harm Eshua’s dignity.
‘It’s tricky.’
Perhaps they should find an excuse not to let Isaac in even now.
However, the senior who came with him seemed to have a different thought.
“Cough.”
As if to say, ‘Are you not doing right?’, he glared at the elder.
“…”
The elder who received the gaze twitched his eyebrows.
These old men, for some reason, seemed to have high hopes for Isaac.
‘I wonder who said they weren’t the Saint’s best guardian knights.’
Even if your arm bends, it should bend reasonably. No matter how it appears…
“Coughhhh!!”
“…”
In the end, the elder glared at the brats with twitching facial muscles.
