I’m Going to Destroy this Country

Chapter 15.1

The Demon King twitched his eyebrows at the sight of the demons targeting him.

He had no parents.

In fact, that part was okay.

After all, someone from his immediate family had come to get him.

And the words the Emperor said when his uncle came to pick him up later.

-I didn’t expect that a member of Eshua’s direct line would come.

He immediately guessed from that one sentence that he was not a welcomed entity in the family, but that was okay too.

Anyway, it was a family he would soon make his own. Whether he was welcomed or not, what did it matter? Once he takes the head position, all that will become meaningless.

In that sense, there was a need to get close to his innocent young uncle who came to pick him up and take advantage of him.

‘These useless bastards!’

Demons, their blood barely dried, now targeting him.

Moreover, it was already the second time.

No matter how related by blood, if rumors spread that a child is continually targeted by demons, he was likely to be discarded.

Even more so if these incidents took place within their own territory!

The holy faction wouldn’t let a child, who could become a seed of disaster, stay.

As always, it was natural for them to cut him off for their safety. Especially if the child had no parents, there was even less to worry about.

And they were demons, who couldn’t possibly not know the habits of the holy faction.

“If you try to take the child, you guys will only keep getting tired and having headaches.”

“The demons will keep swarming until they deal with the kid.”

“Yeah, so if you just let the kid go, we’ll let the rest of you pass without lifting a finger.”

The Skeleton King’s eyebrows twitched at the all-too-expected words.

Well, whoever taught them, they sure blabber well.

If they get caught, I’ll cut their throats…

“All this is the teachings and will of the great Skeleton King. As people of the Saintess’ family, you should understand better. Let’s not make each other tired.”

Yes, damn. Thank you for following along so well, it’s tear-jerking.

Can’t help it.

Although they’re not considerate, I need to deal with them before they’re discarded by the family…

That’s when it happened.

Swoosh!

The head of the demon in the form of a guard was pierced.

The sword that came out through the brain via the mouth was like a harpoon.

The quick hand movement that wasn’t even visible when drawing the sword.

The uncle, who had pierced through and skewered the head of the demon, twinkled his crystal blue eyes.

“Even to the eye, it’s clearly water. How dare you blabber such words to Eshua.”

“Cough…!”

“Listen carefully, even you demons have holes in your ears. We, Eshua, and those with the blue faith, are .”

The uncle imbued his sword with blue holy power.

“No matter how you wag your three-tongued tongues, we are the ones who will chase you to the ends of hell to protect the child and eradicate your existence!”

The moment the sword was drawn, the carriage exploded with a blue light.

Bang!

The Skeleton King emerged from the explosion, held by the knight commander.

Looking at the carriage that had not only shattered but turned into dust, the Skeleton King glared as if nauseated.

That crazy bastard!

If not for those insane people of the Saintess’ family.

They look like pacifists. But they just blew up the carriage out of nowhere, those crazy ones!

The kid would get wrapped up in it and die!

But whether that happened or not, the uncle who had blown up the demon in an instant brushed off the flesh and said:

“See. Didn’t I say so? The Skeleton King is the culprit.”

No, you little shit.

You’re not right, so get your eyes straight. Knights, you guys say something too…

“It’s a shame that you let them go without pain. If they were underlings of the Skeleton King, I would have cut off their limbs and given them an eternal torture.”

Ah, these lunatics.

All of them have lost their eyes, they’re crazy.

Really, they’ve come to the wrong house.

These guys don’t even care if the territory gets destroyed.

The Skeleton King looked up at the sky as if giving up.

It seems like the name ‘Skeleton King’ was a trigger for Eshua’s outbursts.

He thought he might end up like that if his identity was revealed, but he looked at the panicked demons.

The Skeleton King’s gaze had already changed to a cold one, like an ice field.

In fact, the Skeleton King was the one who understood this situation the least.

The demons targeting him?

No, that wasn’t the reason.

‘Surely, a prohibition must have been imposed on entering the human faction.’

This place was already in the middle of human land.

And the Skeleton King had established an absolute principle of not invading human territory.

They could fight in the border areas to defend the demon’s territory, but it meant not to go into the territory first and provide the seed of conflict.

That was what the Skeleton King had insisted on from the start.

‘Preemptive invasion is a different matter.’

Invasion tends to be a great excuse in wars. So, he chose to defend in the border areas instead of a preemptive invasion.

Well, he did personally uproot those who really crossed the line.

Demons capturing humans as trophies and making stupid mistakes like launching an attack? Just stopping that could prevent unnecessary wars and allow focus on the revival of the demons.

And most importantly, he was a human.

Yes, a human.

A person.

Even though he was a skeleton that could no longer feel any emotions as all his nerves had died, he didn’t want to give up the fact that he was human.

So he made it a principle.

-Don’t invade.

-Don’t eat humans.

He had set these not as commands but as prohibitions in order to choose the path of coexistence.

It was even a prohibition of a thousand years.

During that period, it was an absolute vow that all demons must not defy.

Then why are these bastards ignoring his words and coming into the middle of the human faction?

‘Judging by their appearances, their handler must be the western command post.’

In other words, it means these bastards live far away from here.

‘Is it trendy these days for sea guys to drift inland?’

It meant why the hell they are here breaking the prohibition.

‘And they seem to have come on orders from someone other than me.’

It meant there was a rebellious demon with a swollen liver among them.

That’s why the Skeleton King shut his mouth tightly.

Well, okay.

It’s been 150 years since he was sealed.

During that time, another Skeleton King could have taken the throne.

The order to kill the Saint could also have been made by the Skeleton King who lives next door.

Yeah. Then I should understand.

I should leave it to the new era, yeah.

I shouldn’t be old-fashioned.

“Sly Skeleton King. Even sending your subordinate to the human land because you want to escape from the prison. You are rotten to the core.”

“Don’t insult Lord Isaak, human!” (tl/n: I remind you that it is pronounced as ‘ee-sa-ak’)

“Everything is for the revival of the king!”

…It doesn’t seem like a new Skeleton King has taken the place.

The Skeleton King’s eyebrows twitched.

Well, he knew.

To remove the prohibition, a new king must break the prohibition by overwhelming the power of the previous king.

Just like he did.

But if it was broken, he would know, so these bastards broke it unilaterally.

He never thought there would be a crazy bastard who would use his name so blatantly.

“Kill them all! Bring the Saint as a corpse, and it’s okay to eat the others!”

Did he not know he was boldly breaking even the top priority command in the prohibition, the ‘Don’t eat humans’ clause?

He wondered what the knight commander thought of the Skeleton King’s expression, he gently stroked his face.

“Don’t worry, young master Isaac. Don’t make that face. We, no, especially your uncle is strong.”

No, it’s not because of that.

“I will burn the hateful Skeleton King’s subordinates without leaving any magic cores behind.”

No, can you just remove magic cores?

I get that you guys are strong, but do you know how hard it is to find one of those?

And to be precise, they’re not really subordinates, they’re strangers whose faces I don’t even know.
