Chapter 62
Rick’s caretaker.
Rick woke up with the sound of opening the door. I’m supposed to live alone, it’s winter now, and it’s a pretty late hour that the sun is so shining, I mean.
“Late!
I got up in a hurry.
“Late? What, you even go to the lake swamp academy? In that year.”
“Ah, ha? No, I was suddenly dropped here.”
As soon as he got up, in a room he didn’t know, Rick, who was suddenly spoken to by someone, turned to you confused. There was a blind man like I’d ever seen. Yes, I was dropped into this world yesterday by a goddess, and it was among this man who finally got there. I was reminded of yesterday.
“They dropped me. Again?”
When I say that and put my arms around me and put on a difficult face, a man’s eyes look worse. Still, it’s annoying. Rick thought of his original well said, fashionable thin body, a bit uncut. Even though it’s hard to build muscles, I’ve never had time to work so hard to build my body. No, no, not if you’re thinking about it. We need to talk properly and figure out how we’re going to fit in.
“You, what happened to your parents?”
“Parents, I can’t see you anymore.”
Rick was unwittingly annoyed. Rick lived with his mother and two until his parents divorced him when he was little and graduated from college. My father and I met several times when I was in elementary school, but by the time I got into middle school, I was alienated, and I hadn’t seen him in over a decade. Maybe there are circumstances over there, but when I thought it was this man who was making his mother struggle, I was no longer honestly happy to see him as the same man.
But even when I was away from my mother at work, we were close. It breaks my heart to think you’re worried about hearing about the accident by now. Moreover, the mother also said that all of them would be hunted. I’ll never see you again.
So you don’t have anything to take care of you right now?
“Yes.”
“Right.”
Without saying anything else, the man silently offers a thick shirt and waits at the door like he’s coming this way. Rick rushed out of bed, weaving his oversized shirt and hurried to follow the man.
When I left the door, it was the living room as soon as I left. Never big, but the white lacquered walls are bright and meadows are visible through a large lattice window with a number of them. Table for four. Easily divided kitchen. It’s cleaned up and it’s cozy.
“Sit there.”
Whether the chair was for children, it had steps and was very expensive. The man brought me from the kitchen, plenty of stew in a soup bowl and then thickly chopped and baked bread. Served with butter.
“I have an alternative.”
I guess that means you can eat. Rick grabs the spoon and carries the hot stew to his mouth with whoo-hoo cold. Plenty of milk and good. Next, grab a little scorched bread. I need to apply butter while it’s warm. Spread the butter with a small spoon attached to the butter. Without seeing it and realizing the man is raising his eyebrows.
My stomach filled quickly because of my smaller body and unfortunately I couldn’t replace it, but Rick was satisfied with a good meal. Yeah, I think I can do it in this world.
When Rick finished his meal and said hello, the man tried to lower the plate in silence. Rick rushed to stop it and hurried out of the chair and grabbed the dishes himself. Follow the man who raises his eyebrows again to the kitchen. As Rik placed the dish in the flush, the man immediately began to wash the dish. After rubbing and flushing with something like a patterned deflection, he goes through a plate and immediately raises it as he twirls from something like a medicine can into the water he pours. Isn’t it hot?
“I’m used to it.”
Really? Rick thought he’d have something to grab when he did it. That, Rick tilted his neck when I didn’t tell him anything, but he was willing to take care of me here.
When it was all over, the man sat Rick at the table again and himself across the street. And I stared at Rick. Silence fell in the room. That’s how the man finally started talking.
“I’m Cyrus. We’re farming here.”
And I shut up. Next, Rick was in a hurry to see if it was his turn. The man only says his name. Then I’ll just say my name.
“I am.”
No, it’s not my job.
“I say land people. I know someone who calls me Rick.”
“Ricto. That’s a rare name. Ricto, Ricto”
The man is trying so hard to repeat Rik’s name. And with the wrong pronunciation. I’ve been feeling so good about him, Rick.
“No, in Rik! Rick is fine!
“Right. Bye, Rick.”
“Yes, Mr. Cyrus”
“No, Mr. Cyrus… There’s no one here to talk to. Call me Cyrus.”
“Uh, Cyrus”
Cyrus nodded lightly.
“You said you were dropped.”
“Yes.”
“I don’t have any parents either. There’s nowhere to go.”
“Yes.”
“Well, stay here and help me with my job”
“Uh, okay?
Rick lifted his face up, which was a little nagging.
“Yeah, but my job’s a little different. We’ll see about that first.”
Cyrus stood up as soon as he said so. And I gently weaved the jacket hanging from the front door. And I put another jacket next door on Rik.
“All right. We’re gonna walk a little bit.”
That’s how I went outside, yesterday there was a barn next door that was bigger than the motherhouse I didn’t see, and a cowhouse a long way from it. And on the other side, there are many brown cows, eating grass thoughtfully even in the cold wind.
“A cow.”
“That’s right. My main job is to milk and make butter.”
“So the butter was delicious”
Rick remembered the flavor of butter he put on today’s bread. No habits, light butter. It tastes convincing if it can be done.
“Even so, raising cattle is the main thing, and milking and making butter is the focus of the neighbor’s wives. It’s a wheat region around here, but I’m working on spreading grazing land on the outside to increase cattle.”
Unlike before, Cyrus spoke so eloquently.
“I started with a few heads, and I was making butter myself. But then someone came out to me and wanted me to split the butter, and then someone showed up and wanted to buy it from afar, little by little, on this scale. Now there’s a guy out there who wants to raise a cow, and he’s also giving that guidance. In other words.”
Cyrus looked at Rik.
“I don’t care how many people I have. Of course, when you’re done with your morning work, let them go to church properly. Why don’t you live with us?”
I don’t even wish. Besides, I did say that the goddess would have a caregiver for me. But wouldn’t it be too convenient?
“I appreciate it though. But Cyrus, why are you so kind? I’m such a bad kid.”
“I’m sure I don’t know what I’m good at, but children are something that’s taken care of everywhere, usually. And.”
“And?”
“No, you should have tried raising a child”
At the end of the day, Rick laughed unexpectedly at Cyrus, who told him like he was screwed. You should’ve tried raising it, what the hell? The agriculture he said he wanted to do was about vegetables and fruits, but he didn’t think he was going to dairy. But.
“Thank you, Cyrus. Best regards,”
“Oh.”
So Rick decided on a caregiver.
