Chapter 19: The Despair...

After flirting with Felicia, Allen returned to the cafeteria and found Gwen and MJ at the entrance, both seemingly searching for him.

As he approached, he managed to overhear some of their conversation; they were talking about him.

"Come on, Gwen, what happened to the willpower you showed a while back?" MJ encouraged Gwen with a smile. In a short time, they started to become friends.

Due to MJ's previous situation, she didn't have many friendships, so she wasn't resistant to trying to get along with Gwen.

Gwen seemed downtrodden. "My willpower went on vacation, plus, Allen must already be in the classroom... let's leave this for tomorrow," the blonde girl attempted to escape.

Mary Jane grabbed her arm. "Come on, don't be a coward, this isn't you. Where's the Gwen Stacy who yelled at the math teacher when he gave her bad grades for a formula he couldn't even solve? Just go and face Allen."

"Hello," Allen greeted as he appeared near them, intentionally waiting until he was close to startling them.

"Kyah!" both girls screamed in surprise upon seeing Allen next to them.

Mary Jane sighed in relief. "Where were you? We've been looking for you," she approached Allen, pulling along a reluctant Gwen.

"A cat stole my phone, and I went to get it back, heh," Allen replied with a slight laugh. He immediately glanced at Gwen, who was trying to hide behind MJ. "Gwen, you don't need to feel uncomfortable about what happened or pressured."

MJ pushed Gwen forward, and the girl had no choice but to face Allen. "It's not that... your invitation caught me off guard. When I realized, I was overreacting, and I didn't even consider the possibility that it could be a date between friends. Hehe, sorry."

"I didn't invite you as a friend; it was an invitation to a normal date between a boy and a girl," Allen replied without hesitation.

"Huh?!" Gwen turned robotically to MJ, but the redhead averted her gaze, pretending ignorance. She had convinced Gwen that it might be an invitation between friends, but it was all a trap to prevent Gwen from running away from Allen.

Gwen blushed and cursed MJ in her mind. Trapped, Gwen felt compelled to respond. The girl fixed her blue eyes on Allen, who looked calm, awaiting her response.

"Are you sure?" Gwen asked while gripping her arm. This could change their relationship, and if things didn't work out, even break their friendship. It's one of the reasons why many friends who mutually like each other never take the next step.

"Yes..." Allen's response was unwavering.

"Did you like it?" the slightly blushing girl averted her gaze a bit.

"Hahaha," Allen laughed upon hearing Gwen's words.

"What's so funny?" the girl grumbled.

"I don't think I put much effort into hiding it. Half the school should have realized that I like you, except for you."

"What?!" Gwen was shocked. Then she recalled their interactions and realized that it was quite apparent. Worse, she also realized that she was even more obvious in her feelings.

"Gwen, you should have realized by now that Allen wasn't fighting Flash to stop him but to prevent you from getting into trouble," MJ added as she sighed.

Blushing, Gwen grabbed her clothes; her face looked like it was steaming.

Allen approached Gwen and patted her head. "Well, I think it's too much to assume, how about we just go for a date as friends this time?"

Gwen calmed down upon feeling Allen's hand and observed the boy in front of her.

"Allen suddenly turned good at dealing with girls..."

Allen stopped his movements and coughed as he let go of Gwen's head. "I'm just being reasonable."

Gwen narrowed her eyes suspiciously but dropped the subject and didn't pursue it. "Never mind, okay, Allen, we'll go on a date as friends, but we'll bring MJ."

"Huh?" This time it was MJ who was left speechless. What did she have to do with this?

"I don't think my heart can handle being alone with him, help me, Jane," Gwen whispered to MJ. The redhead felt uncomfortable but ended up agreeing. Allen, on the other hand, didn't oppose the idea.

...

Classes ended, and Allen was getting ready to leave, but the principal called him over the speakers.

"Hm?" Allen was confused and couldn't understand the reason for such a thing. "Maybe it's about the fight."

"That doesn't make sense," Gwen frowned from his side. "Why now, when they didn't call you before?"

Allen could anticipate the answer. It didn't suit the school. Although fighting is prohibited, to people, Allen was the hero of the story, and it would look bad to punish someone for helping a bullied student. So, they didn't even reprimand Allen for the incident.

"Do you have any idea what the reason might be?" MJ approached Allen, looking concerned.

"Relax, girls, not all calls of this sort are bad," Allen shook his head with a smile.

Allen decided to go and see what the principal wanted, although he didn't have a good impression of him. If he was the kind of person who allowed people like Harry and Flash to do as they pleased, one due to being rich and the other a football star, he was probably someone with an unpleasant personality.

He bid the girls goodbye and left; as he walked down the hallway, he saw Felicia coming out of her classroom.

She winked at him as she passed by. "This might be a blessing for you; bad boys tend to be more attractive to women~" the albino girl teased.

"Does that include you?" Allen replied with a mischievous smile.

Felicia stopped and returned his flirtation with a provocative look while saying, "Who knows?~" Felicia chuckled shortly after and left.

Allen shook his head and walked down the hallway after finishing his flirtation with Felicia.

Allen knew something like this was just a game with her. A relationship with Felicia required more depth, although it's not as if Allen was seeking a relationship with her.

Upon arriving at the principal's office, the man in question wasn't there. Instead, a girl was rearranging some shelves and cleaning.

"The principal will be back in a few minutes," the girl said dryly without looking at Allen.

Allen nodded and sat down. What was a student doing cleaning the principal's office? Is this one of those disgusting manga scenarios where an ugly bastard abuses women?

Allen shook his head; the girl in question didn't seem like someone perverted men would drool over. Aside from her outdated clothes, she lacked feminine proportions, her hair was somewhat messy and covered her face. He didn't want to be rude, but the girl wasn't attractive.

"I have nothing against you..." the girl murmured.

"Hm?"

[Host...]

Allen also felt a bad feeling and got up from the chair. The girl turned and began to unbutton her brown sweater.

"I don't hate you, but this is for him," she said bitterly.

Allen felt a chill seeing the girl's actions; lately, he had been close to various girls: the entirely indifferent and strange Wednesday, the flirtatious and mischievous Felicia, the sweet and affectionate Mary Jane, the shy yet strong Gwen. With that in mind, he has a clear idea of when a girl wants to be near him or at least has positive feelings for him.

But there was none of that in the girl in front of him, just a slight sense of guilt but also a malicious intent.

"Sorry, I have a girlfriend," Allen joked, but he didn't finish speaking before he was already walking towards the exit.

It was obvious that the bastard of a principal had set a trap for him, no, it was Harry Osborn.

The girl was closer to the door and stepped in to prevent Allen from leaving. Then she pulled out scissors, and Allen got into a defensive position.

He wasn't concerned about a madwoman with scissors,.he didn't even need the system's help to deal with her. He could easily disarm her if she tried to attack.

"Stop, don't throw away your life for someone like Harry," said Allen as he prepared to take down the girl.

She stopped her movements and looked at Allen with pain. "What do you know about him? What do you know about me?!"

"Hey, calm down, trust me, the last thing I want is to know about your life," Allen felt trapped in this situation.

"That's right, you are all the same, nobody cared about me, only Harry cared about me, he promised me we would go out, that I would be the one he'd take to the prom, that I'd be his partner."

"What nonsense..."

Out of nowhere, a small rag doll resembling Wednesday appeared on Allen's shoulder.

"Wednesday?!" Allen exclaimed, looking at the tiny doll with Wednesday's appearance on his shoulder. "How did you get here?

"Don't shout, I'm here... I've been trying out several things and discovered I can teleport to you at any time, how convenient... but also unpleasant," Wednesday sat on Allen's shoulder; he might have thought she looked adorable if there weren't a crazy girl with scissors in front of him.

"Who are you talking to?" the girl in question wasn't bothered when she was ignored, she just looked at Allen strangely, talking to himself.

[Host, it seems that at this moment, only you can hear and see Wednesday]

"That's right," said Wednesday proudly, "I also discovered that I can make myself invisible and speak so that only you can hear me... it's another unpleasant but useful function."

"It's nothing," Allen replied to the girl.

The girl clenched her teeth one last time as her gaze became pitiful. "I'm sorry..."

"Bitch," said Wednesday, as if she knew what was coming.

"Someone help me!!! Stay away from me!!!" the girl began tearing her clothes with the scissors while screaming shrilly.

"No!"

Allen immediately understood everything; this act is one of the worst lows a woman can do to a man. No matter if you end up being innocent, your reputation is ruined. In nine out of ten cases, you will be arrested without asking anything, and all the media will turn against you.

"Those bastards!" Allen lost his composure and swore to avenge himself. "I can't believe they're doing this to me!"

"Ahhhhhhhh!" the girl screamed louder.

Wednesday turned into her human form and walked towards the girl.

"What?! Who?"

As expected, seeing Wednesday suddenly appear out of nowhere managed to stop the girl's actions.

Wednesday had no intention of speaking. "Shut up, bitch..." She clenched her fist and punched the girl in the face, breaking her nose with a devastating blow.

"..."

[...]

The girl fell unconscious to the ground while Allen and even the system were in shock.

"Don't stand there, this only made the situation worse," Wednesday transformed into a rag doll and started floating. "You must hurry..."

"Dammit!"

Allen thought about his situation, and indeed, he was screwed. He had an unconscious girl with torn clothes and blood coming from her nose.

[You must flee, host...]

Allen considered using the Bullet Time and leaving, but it was still a few hours until he could use the ability.

"No, since they called me here, they know I came to the principal's office. If I leave her like this, they will incriminate me."

"Take her with you," suggested Wednesday.

[That can work, then you must use the neuralizer on her to wipe her memory]

Allen was about to carry the girl when he heard a lot of footsteps. "Are they here already?! Those bastads thought of everything! system, open a door."

[Host, I don't have a place ready]

Allen knew that the system's doors could only lead to DC and back; he still couldn't use them to move within the same world.

"Do it!" Allen was willing to take the risk.

A white door appeared, and Allen crossed it, carrying the girl. Without a victim or aggressor, there's no crime to pursue.

===

Allen appeared in the middle of a street; it was daytime, and the sun was high.

"Where am I, that doesn't matter, system, make a door to go home."

[Give me a moment]

Allen sighed in relief; he didn't know which land he was in, and staying for too long was dangerous.

An explosion sounded in the distance, and Allen saw an object fall to the ground in front of him.

"Green Lantern..." Allen murmured as he looked incredulously. Hal Jordan, alias Green Lantern, was a known superhero, even capable of facing Superman for a period of time. But now the man was on the ground in a broken suit with several serious injuries.

Something landed a few meters from Allen, breaking the ground. Allen didn't turn to see what it was; he felt the cold breath of death and was paralyzed.

He didn't need to see it face-to-face; hearing its breathing, similar to that of a beast, was enough to make Allen's blood run cold.

Allen turned only his neck with a serious look; in front of him was a creature nearly nine feet tall. It wore a space suit, but Allen could see its eyes. Its eyes were red, like those of a bloodthirsty beast, they peered out from under a broken mask, indicating only one thing.

"This is a bad joke..." Allen murmured. "Doomsday..."
