I Ran Away And The Reverse Harem Started

Chapter 45

Chapter 45 “W-what?” “Think about it. Did you really have no choice but to take Miriam’s side? You stayed next to Miriam because you liked it too.” Mika remembered the time when she and Angela had just entered the Count’s residence, and they were close friends. At that time, Angela took Miriam’s side after telling her that Mika thought poorly of her. Angela’s face turned white. “I knew a long time ago that you were sticking with Rosieta because you had no one to play with. and I’m sure all the maids know that, but you can’t just go around gossiping about her like this.” As the argument became heated, Angie, who had been quiet, intervened between the two. “Hey, Angela, I think you should stop siding with Miriam and tormenting Rosieta. Rosieta is a good girl… Let’s not do this.” “Angie. When did I torment her? I just did it because Miriam ordered…!” Before she could finish speaking, Angie nervously waved her hand as if she had become Mika. Angela was shocked by that action and chewed her lips. That was real. “Don’t you know that since you accepted Miriam, you’ll be doing more? Are you really not sure? Miriam becomes more active because you are there to please her.” “I said everything….” “Anyway, we won’t tolerate your behavior any longer. So either end your relationship with Miriam or stay alone, because no one’s going to stand up for you.” “……” “Don’t bother Rosieta and Marie anymore. We don’t care about you anymore either.” Angela glared at Mika and Angie with red eyes. She was furious. When did she act like Miriam, put herself on the same level as the devilish Miriam? The reason she listened to Miriam was simply because she had a high rank in the dorm. It may sound like an excuse, but Angela was just trying to please Miriam in order to survive. “But you also stayed quiet when Miriam was harassing Rosieta.” Mika and Angie avoided eye contact for a moment, as if their conscience was being pricked by the words that came out of her mouths. Mika pursed his lips with a nervous look on his face. “… I’m reflecting on that.” “Yeah, we were bad back then, too. We shouldn’t have let it happen.” “Ha! Don’t come back now and say you’re sorry. It’s not even funny.” It’s disgusting. Angela huffed and couldn’t help but push Mika’s shoulder and left the kitchen. ‘What did I do wrong?’ What did I do wrong to deserve such disdain from those kids? What is it about them that makes them look down on her? Angela became resentful of the whole situation. And they thought she was the one who started it all. * * * On a lazy afternoon, Lucas lay on the couch and stretched out like a cat, the warm sunlight falling on his blond hair, making it glisten like rays of sunshine. His skin glowed as if he hadn’t had insomnia for days, thanks to a good night’s sleep and good food. On days like these, Lucas was kind to everyone. Not to mention his favorite person. “The weather is so nice. On days like this, I should go see Rosie.” Lucas hummed and left the room. IHe’d even packed a gift he’d bought at the store a few days ago to give to Rosie when I saw her. Gift boxes and snacks packed in coral boxes. This gift was something I bought when I went to the Count’s Square with Rosieta, using the excuse of going to the bathroom. For the past few weeks, Rosieta has been serving tea and sweeping the garden. She’s probably sweeping the garden right now. At times like this, I felt very grateful that Rosie was working at the mansion.Because I can meet her whenever I want to. Sometimes it’s hard to shake the feeling that we’ve become indebted to each other, that we’ve become entangled in a web of debt… One thing’s for sure, I’ve had fewer nightmares and my insomnia has decreased since Rosie’s return.Lucas grabbed some frozen green grapes and headed downstairs. As expected, there was Rosietta in the garden, her back to him, sweeping leaves. When I was young, Rosieta was bigger than me, so she was always the one carrying me on her back until I went to sleep. Lucas now felt that even Rosieta’s height, which barely touched his collarbone, was lovely. “Rosie~” He called out, his voice dripping with honey, and Rosieta flicked her broom back to stop him. “Stop moving. Don’t come closer. If you want to talk to me, keep a reasonable distance.” “Huh? why?” “Because it can be seen by other people.” Lucas pouted his lips at those words.Stiff. hard. And cold. Ever since our reunion at the Count’s estate, my impression of Rosieta had changed. When I was young, she insisted on educating me, but now it feels like she’s clearly drawing a line between us. Lucas twitched his apricot-colored lips mischievously, but when he made eye contact with Rosieta, the corners of his eyes curled and he smiled as if he had never done that before. “I took a step back, Rosie.” “Good job.” “Good job?” “Yes.” As Lucas moved away, Rosieta’s face became even more relaxed. She’s hard and cold. But still good though. ‘Just like these frozen grapes.’ For some reason, Rosieta seems to be paying more attention to her surroundings today. Perhaps it’s best not to overwhelm her on a day like this, and he doesn’t want to do anything she might not like. Lucas hid the coral-colored gift box behind his back and handed her a bowl of green grapes. “What’s this?” “Green grape.” “Do you think I don’t even know green grapes?” “They’re from the South, and they’re frozen, and they’re really good and sweet, and I brought them for Rosie to try.” “Mmm.” Rosieta lifted up on her heels and examined the plump green grapes in the bowl. She glanced at the fruit, and admired them slightly. “It must be delicious.” As expected, Rosieta has a weakness for food. ‘Of course, I think she’s weaker at money.’ Lucas, who was secretly evaluating her, handed her a grape with a smile on his face. Then Rosieta looked up at him as if she was troubled. “My hands are dirty from cleaning now.” Lucas’s heart nearly jumped out of his throat as her violet eyes glanced up at him. Thump, thump, thump! ‘No, if you mess around here, Rosie will tell you to get out of here.’ Lucas came to his senses with what little reason he had left. And then he suddenly shouted. “I’ll feed you, then!” When I shouted enthusiastically, Rosieta looked at me with a look that asked me why I was like that. Rosieta double-checked to make sure no one was around, and then she approached Lucas. “Try feeding me one, it looks delicious. It’s expensive, right?” “You pretend not to care, and ask if it’s expensive.” “What did you say?” “I said it was a very expensive and very delicious green grape, hehe.” “I see.” Lucas said it was such a rare flavor that Daniel wouldn’t have known it if the two of us had collapsed from eating it. “Why would we fall down?” “That’s what it says. Okay, come closer.” Lucas picked a grape with his long fingers and brought it to her mouth. He could see the tiny pink lips parting. Lucas stared blankly as the slightly hard, cold green grape disappeared into her mouth. Even though he only fed her a piece of fruit, he felt a tremendous sense of happiness. “It’s good.” “… Right?” Crunch–Lucas also heard a pleasant sound. Lucas thought it would be nice for Rosieta to hear the sound of his heart. “Take another one. Because there are a lot.” “Then just one more thing.” She smiled, as if the delicious treat had made her feel better. When she smiles, all kinds of thoughts come to mind and he’s engulfed in strange emotions. Lucas squeezed out his emotions and picked another grape and brought it to her mouth. God, I wish time could stop at this point. And that moment. “Miss Rosieta?” Rosieta jerked away from him at the sound of the young girl’s voice, and the grape grain that had been at the corner of her mouth fell to the floor. Thud– Lucas’s mood plummeted along with the grape on the ground. “…….” Turning around with a stiff face, he saw a maid wearing round glasses. He didn’t recognize her, but that didn’t matter. “You….” Marie opened her eyes wide and looked at Lucas. The precious youngest master of this house, shouted to the new maid. “You’re fired!”  He was truly angry. * * * Next to him, I was genuinely baffled. Lucas glared at Marie, telling her she was fired, and Marie was surprised, but later she looked at Lucas with a frown between her eyes, as if she was in a bad mood. “What are those eyes? Why are you staring at me like that?” “What eyes?” “You have rebellion in your eyes, you’re a maid, what’s your name!” “My eyes are always like this, young master.” “Don’t be ridiculous. I can see you swearing with your eyes.” Marie couldn’t relax her expression easily, even though she knew he was the youngest master in the house. Well, I would feel bad if they suddenly fired me even though I didn’t do anything. I looked back and forth between the two people anxiously and quickly poked Lucas in the side.Ack, Lucas let out a short scream, or so I thought. ‘Hey! Why are you making such a fuss with the newbie? She got fired for no reason!’ I whispered, just loud enough for him to hear, and he glared at me, tears hanging from his blue eyes. I brushed him aside and went over to Marie, who was still looking upset. “Oh my, Marie. You came. Are you surprised? There’s something I didn’t tell you, but the youngest master in this house likes to make a joke of yelling at the employees to get them fired!” “A prank?” “He’s immature.” Even though I whispered just loud enough for Marie to hear, her eyebrows did not straighten. She was still glaring over my shoulder at Lucas, the employer and master. “Why are you looking at me like that? You got a problem?” Lucas, who was standing behind me, got angry again, asking if that was how she treated her master. I don’t know what he grew up with, but he’s already singing employer, master. It can’t be Colin’s influence, it must be Daniel. Of course, Lucas should know that you can’t just fire a maid overnight unless she’s done something terribly wrong. It was a time when Lucas and Marie had a tense war of nerves and glared at each other for a moment.I hastily changed the topic of conversation. “But what brings you here, Marie? Do you need help with something? Are you having trouble cleaning? Is there something I can do for you?” Marie met Lucas’s gaze and looked back at me. She hesitated for a moment. “No, actually, I came because I had something to say to Miss Rosieta… It wasn’t a big deal.” “I see.” “More than that, why are you with the third master?” Despite my efforts, Marie quickly changed the subject back to Lucas and me. I wonder if she even saw the two of us talking! Embarrassed, I quickly snatched the plate of green grapes from Lucas. “Well, the youngest master said he wanted some green grapes!” But Marie was not such an easy opponent. She glanced around the garden, her face expressionless. “There are no chairs or tables. In this garden, with nothing but leaves around?” “Uh, yes, he said he wanted to eat here while getting some fresh air! Right?” I walked right up to Lucas and slapped him on the back. From an angle that Marie couldn’t see, of course. Whether she realized it or not, she looked at Lucas with a face that seemed to say, ‘You’re telling people to go doing something trivial.’
