I Married the Beautiful Female Protagonist In Order To Survive

chapter 1019

39. Your Ordinary Day

Today is an utterly ordinary day. The morning sunlight streams through the window, accompanied by the alarm clock that starts its noisy ringing right on time, waking you up.

Although you want to roll over and catch a few more minutes of sleep, the reminders about your studies that suddenly pop into your mind force you to rub your sleepy eyes, turn over, and then contemplate what position to take and when to muster the courage to leave your warm bed.

Of course, you can’t continue to linger; after all, today is just another school day, and you are merely an ordinary student who needs to adhere to the school’s routine.

An ordinary family environment, an ordinary life, parents with ordinary jobs, and you, with ordinary grades, are pursuing your studies. Even you feel like just an ordinary person.

After your ordinary morning routine, you express gratitude for the conveniences brought by “modernization” while taking out the breakfast prepared for you by your parents, who have already gone to work. For some reason, though, you feel that the refrigerator is particularly ” cold” today; even the fresh-keeping layer makes you shiver the moment you open the door.

“It must be getting colder.”

As you mumble this, you close the refrigerator door, not noticing the fleeting glimmer within. When you heat up your breakfast on the stove, the flame from the gas stove is unusually large today, almost singing your clothes.

Although you suspect that perhaps the kitchenware at home is malfunctioning, the pressing time leaves you no room for further thought. After wolfing down your meal, you hurriedly set off for school.

Today should be sunny, but you feel a gust of wind blowing at you continuously. Just as you start to wonder if you’re seeing things, the appearance of your best friend redirects your attention back to interacting with friends.

You attend an ordinary school with ordinary friends. After entering the campus together, the first thing your friend says is a topic everyone understands.

“How was the ‘game’ I recommended to you yesterday? Don’t forget to download the mysterious little patch!”

“Game?”

You scratch your head because, upon reflection, you can’t quite remember what you did yesterday. After getting home, you did your homework, played for a bit, and then went to sleep. This should be the unchanging life of an ordinary student , but…

Have you become so accustomed to it that you completely forgot what happened yesterday?

Your best friend is not pleased with your pretense: “No way? No way? You really studied hard?”

“I played, just like that.”

There’s no way around it; you can only assume that the “masterpiece” your friend recommended wasn’t appealing enough, causing your mind to completely forget what happened yesterday.

After some playful banter, you and your best friend arrive at your ordinary classroom in school. With some time left before the first class, the classmates who have already arrived are chatting in small groups. You plan to find something to do with your friends, but just as you set down your backpack and intend to shove your textbooks into your desk, you suddenly discover… something extra in your desk!

It is a white envelope, quite retro, very artistic, but… at least it’s not something an ordinary student like you would come across.

Your best friend reacts much faster than you!

“Wow! XXX received a love letter!!”

This must be what a best friend is.

Before the words are out, the entire class is staring over at you. You kick your best friend away with one foot while hurriedly clutching that thing tightly in your hand.

This thing must be “that,” right!? It can only be “that,” right!?

But even though you are curious, nervous, and your face is flushed, you don’t dare to open it. After all… if you really open it, the next second it will definitely end up in someone else’s hands, and then for the next few years, you will become the best target for teasing in the class.

You quickly start to think, your gaze sweeping across the classroom. All the female students are looking over with curiosity, their eyes burning with gossip. Just from this, you know: the owner of the letter cannot possibly be any of the girls in the class.

So it must be a man?

You shiver slightly, your heart racing, instinctively dismissing that guess.

In that case, it can only be some girl from another class in the school, or even from another grade.

If the girls in the class are gossiping, then the boys are cheering and congratulating. Your best friend is even happier than you.

“Nice one! XXX! Playing the pig to eat the tiger!”

“Open it quickly! Let me see!”

“Let me take a look!”

The boys’ cheers only add to your own confusion: you know very well that you are just an ordinary student, your grades are not at the top; in sports, when playing with your best friend, it’s just monkey-level fighting; and you definitely don’t have a handsome, dashing face…

Then, you would casually discuss crude topics with your best friend; laugh out loud with the boys when encountering awkward situations; and, like everyone else, hold strange fantasies about those unattainable “goddesses” in school.

You don’t think any girl would notice you. But the envelope in your hand does indeed have weight; it’s not your illusion.

The next moment, the homeroom teacher appears, and a sharp reprimand immediately silences the class. Everyone tacitly avoids mentioning “you received a love letter,” to prevent you from being dragged to the office for questioning. After sitting down, your best friend pokes you in the side and whispers.

“Aren’t you going to look? At least see when it’s from.”

“Besides after school, when else could there be?”

“Well, you should take it easy in your last class; otherwise, the whole class will come over to see.”

After thanking your best friend for the reminder, you had to start your morning reading. After all, this letter was just a subplot; your studies couldn’t be delayed.

However… this clearly seemed like a matter of “romantic luck,” yet it didn’t make you happy. Rather, you didn’t even have a hint of anticipation.

You weren’t quite sure what was going on, even doubting whether you had become s*xually indifferent!

Nevertheless, you still chose a break time when no one was paying attention to open the envelope. The brief and neat sentences inside didn’t excite you; you only learned the “time” and “place,” that was all.

This didn’t even clarify whether the person was male or female…

You folded the letter back up and carefully hid it to avoid being discovered by others. Lack of interest aside, you still planned to meet the letter’s owner at the agreed location after school.

But speaking of which, the chosen meeting place… was actually the rooftop of the teaching building?

Was this girl watching too many anime? That kind of place is strictly off-limits; how dare she go there?

You sighed and glanced at the rooftop of the teaching building, which was, of course, empty at the moment.

You began to feel the usual worries again, but…

There was still a hint of nervousness in your heart.

What kind of person would be waiting for you there?

——

At the end of this volume, I used the second-person narrative that I’ve been thinking about, as I felt this perspective was surprisingly suitable for this part of the book.

This volume is not the end; the book will continue to be updated. There are many stories I still want to add.
