Chapter 25: Seconds to Become the Queen of Fans.
“My lord, the hotel has been arranged,” a female officer said respectfully to Su Mo as he stepped out of the carriage.
This officer, named Alia, had been specially selected by Xi Wei to serve Su Mo. She was a diligent and careful person. However, as a human being, she was unaware of Su Mo’s true identity as a Demon God. Nonetheless, she considered it a great honour to be able to accompany the Earl of Blackstone, who was now in the limelight.
Naturally, Su Mo gave her utmost respect, and he sat in the carriage studying the villain panel while she attended to his affairs.
Just a moment ago, a warning had appeared on the panel, indicating the presence of a protagonist in the royal city. Although it had vanished quickly, Su Mo knew that he had to be cautious.
Su Mo thought that there might be more than one protagonist present in the city. However, he didn’t send anyone to investigate. He knew that even his own people couldn’t act recklessly in the King City.
Besides, Su Mo’s main objective for this trip was not to deal with these protagonists. Despite their golden fingers and rapid growth rates, Su Mo had no intention of allowing them to develop too quickly. In the world of the gods, it usually takes several months for a magician with good magic talent to become a first-level magician under a teacher’s guidance. However, these protagonists could achieve this feat in just a few days or even within a single day by relying on the system.
Even though Su Mo was powerful, he would not let them grow. Although they might develop at a remarkable pace, it still took time to travel to reach the level of God in a few days, right?
There was a limit to what cheats could accomplish on their own. While some protagonists may have had high-level cheats from the start, it still took time for others to become cheaters. Therefore, there was no need to rush things for those few days.
However, if the main protagonist in King’s Capital happened to cross paths with Su Mo and caused offence, he would not hesitate to deal with them accordingly.
…………..The carriage headed towards the hotel, and soon, they arrived at a magnificent building.
“My lord, please,” Alia said while following the house cleaners who had laid out a red carpet and opened the curtains for Su Mo.
As Su Mo got out of the carriage and was about to enter the hotel, he heard a voice calling out to him.
“My lord, please wait a moment.”
He turned to see a female officer riding a magic horse, accompanied by a team of knights carrying the Queen’s flag.
“My lord, that female officer belongs to the Queen,” Alia whispered, recognising the flag.
The female officer jumped off the magic horse, came closer, and walked in front of Su Mo.
“My lord, Her Majesty is hosting a banquet in the royal palace, and she has extended an invitation for you to join her. She has also requested to see your face,” the female officer said respectfully.
Su Mo pondered for a moment and then agreed to the invitation, “Okay.”
“My lord, please follow me,” seeing that Su Mo agreed, the female officer was a little happy and spoke.
So, Su Mo got into the carriage again.
The carriage followed the female officer and headed toward the palace.
This time, Su Mo’s knights did not accompany him. His carriage was escorted by the team of knights brought by the female officer.
Crescent King City was a large area divided into an inner and outer city. The knights brought by the nobles were only allowed to stay in the outer city and could only bring a few followers into the inner city.
However, safety was not a major concern as there were not many people who dared to cause trouble in King City. This was the core of the entire Crescent Kingdom, and there were multiple sanctuaries located within the city.
The carriage soon arrived at the palace after entering the inner city.
As Su Mo rode in his carriage, he scrolled through the villain forum, where he discovered that many of the villains were starting to form alliances. They had realised that the growth rate of the protagonists was becoming too fast for their liking. Some of these protagonists even had special identities, which made them incredibly difficult to kill if they became too aggressive. For instance, Billy possessed the Krypton Gold System, and if he were to stay at the Magic Academy, the villains would have a hard time getting to him. No one wanted to become a mere stepping stone for the protagonists to climb higher.
As a result, many villains started to share information on the forum that they found challenging to deal with, such as the identity and location of certain protagonists. However, the protagonists were not fools, and within the next two days, Su Mo noticed a significant drop in efficiency when trying to locate them on the dark net. This indicated that many of the protagonists had become more vigilant and cautious.
“There are two more.”
As the carriage approached the palace, Su Mo received another warning from the protagonist on his villain panel.
This meant a protagonist was within a twenty-five-kilometre radius of Su Mo, which was not a small range. It was equivalent to an array with Su Mo as the centre and a radius of twenty-five kilometres. It seemed that quite a few protagonists were hiding in King City.
Compared to being outside, hiding in King City was indeed the best choice for these protagonists, who had little advantage in the early stage.
Although there were too many powerful people in the city, and the divine light was the strongest faction. Even Su Mo, unless he revealed his strength, wouldn’t t be able to unleash the full power of the Demon God. Additionally, no matter how high their status was, the other villains couldn’t do whatever they wanted.
Although these protagonists were smart and Su Mo didn’t pay too much attention to them, he also understood that he couldn’t take them too lightly as their total number was quite significant.
……
Finally, the palace arrived.
“My lord, please change into the carriage prepared by the queen for you,” the female officer said.
As outside carriages could not enter the city, Su Mo got into another exquisite carriage, and after about ten minutes, they arrived at an exceptionally magnificent palace.
“My lord, please.”
The female officer led Su Mo and some maids as they spread a clean red carpet on the ground. Su Mo got out of the carriage and walked towards the palace’s gate, following the female officer.
As Su Mo approached the palace gate, he saw the Crescent Queen, wearing a crown on her head and possessing an exquisite face, personally welcoming him. It was uncommon for the queen to come out to greet even a duke, let alone someone like Su Mo.
While also being the queen, the Cresent Queen is also the Holy Maiden of the Crescent Goddess. Her father held the crown before her, and her younger brother was supposed to precede him, but tragedy struck. While they were on a foreign tour, an assassin from an enemy country killed both of them. With no other heirs to the thrown, the Crescent Queen was coerced to concurrently serve as the Queen was forced to become the Queen of the Crescent Moon.
Despite her position, the Queen’s decision to come out and greet Su Mo personally demonstrated the importance she placed on him. As Su Mo approached, she smiled brightly but was prevented from stepping over the threshold by an older female officer beside her, who reminded her of the protocol.
Despite the female officer’s attempt to stop her, Queen Crescent Moon stepped out of the door and approached Su Mo, greeting him warmly.
“You’re here,” her voice lacked the usual regal majesty and sounded more like a star-struck young girl meeting her idol.
This change in demeanour was not lost on the female officers standing behind her, who watched in disbelief as their queen transformed before their eyes. Seeing their queen act in such a way was a rare sight, and the unexpected display of emotion took them aback.
