I have an Apocalypse City

Chapter 516 - 516: Golden Thigh

Chapter 516: Chapter 516: Golden Thigh

Having harvested the last slither of vitality points from the remaining two elite monsters, Song Jian picked up the dropped items and turned around.

The surprised expressions on almost everyone’s faces seemed to ask, “Are we playing the same game?” They looked as if they had just seen a ghost.

“Song, Brother Song, did you just solo five level 20 elite monsters?” Wang Qi stuttered.

“And he soloed them without injury! Our leader didn’t lose a drop of blood!” someone nearby exclaimed, as if they had just realized something.

Only then did everyone notice that Song Jian’s vitality points indeed hadn’t dropped at all. In other words, Song Jian had killed all five monsters before they could attack him.

“If I didn’t see this with my own eyes, I would never believe it, no matter how convincingly someone told me!” One of the Alliance players stood still, mumbling to himself in shock.

It was too incredible to believe. If Song Jian could solo twenty-level elite monsters, no one in the alliance would be surprised. If he couldn’t, he should step down as their leader.

Soloing five level-20 monsters would surprise them, but soloing five level-20 elite monsters without losing a single vitality point – that was an absolute tall tale. Even as they witnessed it, they couldn’t believe it.

In fact, the reason Song Jian could create such a gap with ordinary players was because many players were too conservative. They were afraid to take risks, face high-level challenges, or fight bosses they were uncertain about. Although they quickly levelled up by diligently killing monsters, their equipment and skills were significantly lacking.

A lot of over-level-20 players were still wearing level 10 or level 15 equipment, some didn’t even have a single piece of blue-quality equipment.

That’s why these players felt tied up when facing same-level elite monsters. Even with more than thirty people, they only dared to pull one or two monsters at a time.

“All right, it’s just a level 25 Overlord BOSS, and it’s already injured. There’s no need to panic!” Song Jian brushed off his hands and said.

If he had said this before, these Alliance players would have sneered at him, even if they didn’t voice their contempt.

“Boss, however you say we should fight, we will follow. We will obey you!” someone in the crowd suddenly shouted.

“Yes, leader, you take command, we’ll follow you!”

“Yeah, following the leader is definitely the right move, there’s loot to share around!”

The players in the City of Hope Alliance suddenly erupted in high spirits and excitement.

They initially thought Song Jian was here to freeload, taking the BOSS’s loot while they did all the work. Some even planned to leave the alliance after this event.

Unexpectedly, Song Jian’s performance in his first battle impressed everyone. Now they were all glad to belong to his alliance.

“What a big, shining, golden leg he has to stand on,” Li Xiu wiped the corner of his mouth, looking at Song Jian with shining eyes.

Li Xiu was a level 21 Curse Master, skilled in various curses and negative magic. Although his damage was lower than that of a mage at the same level, his endless negative effects could torment opponents to the point of madness.

He joined this alliance just for safety in numbers since the territorial wars had started and he didn’t even own a safe house anymore.

Li Xiu hadn’t participated in the few Alliance events held by Wang Qi before. He was fully capable of soloing those level 10 elite BOSS es. Why would he join up with the others?

But this time, Song Jian had joined the event and they were going to fight a level 25 Overlord BOSS. After much thought, Li Xiu decided to join.

On one hand, he wanted to check out Song Jian, the mysterious leader. On the other hand, he wanted to see if the admin team would skim any of the loot under various pretexts.

If the alliance was a personal playground for some, then Li Xiu would have to plan his exit. The alliance won’t last long in that case.

“Seeing just how powerful Song Jian is, I’m stunned,” Li Xiu blurted out. “The leader of the alliance is much stronger than I expected! Those were five elite monsters at level 20, and he killed them without taking a single hit. Such strength would conquer the game!”

“With a big tree like him around, I wouldn’t mind even if all the BOSS loot goes to him!” Li Xiu mused to himself.

Considering Song Jian’s strength, maybe he could single-handedly kill the level 25 Overlord BOSS. Why would he care about the drops from the BOSS?

Even if he didn’t share any of the loot with the others, just the abundant monster experience and loot from the small monsters would satisfy Li Xiu.

“Now everyone, follow my lead!” Song Jian yelled loudly.

Merely by soloing five monsters, Song Jian quickly established his prestige. Nobody dared to ignore his words; everyone listened attentively.

“Now, form teams with one defender, one healer, and three damage dealers each!” Song Jian ordered.

Soon, over thirty people formed five teams. But since there were only four healers, Song Jian restructured the teams into four. One team, which had a weaker defense, was given two defenders.

Once the teams were sorted, Song Jian stood by and let them start pulling monsters in their team groups.

This increased the efficiency greatly. Originally, Wang Qi planned to spend an entire day clearing these smaller monsters, but with this four-team approach, Wang Qi estimated that all the monsters on the road could be cleaned up within three hours.

Soon, the four teams began pulling monsters methodically. The defenders stepped forward to engage the monsters, the healers provided healing, while the remaining three spilled out their attacks confidently.

Even if a team pulled too many monsters at once, it didn’t matter; they just had to yell, and Song Jian would instantly step in to kill the excess monsters.

“Hey, these monsters can drop gems, which can enhance equipment attributes!” a player exclaimed.

“You could guess that just by looking at them. Did you have to yell so loud? You scared me!”

“Haha, these gems have pretty decent attributes. If you embed these into an entire set of equipment, it’s almost as good as wearing an extra piece of armor…”

The fact that gems could drop excited everyone. Even without getting any equipment drops, getting some gems would be excellent.

Everyone became instantly much more enthusiastic!

Because of Song Jian’s presence, nearly all the players were more relaxed. Some, who had been holding back their final moves, also began to use them, greatly improving their efficiency in fighting monsters.

For the distribution of the spoils, Song Jian didn’t require them to turn in the items for a contribution-based distribution. The items each team obtained belonged to them. The extra equipment could be traded among each other, exchanged for contribution points at the Alliance’s warehouse, or even sold directly.

This distribution method had everyone cheering instantly.
